Real talk, this was one of our fav days so far… you can probably see just how much Stace loves puppies (and Tinsel) 🐶 It's one of the tough things of travelling full-time, we don't have a base to introduce a little Tinsel into our life right now. How did you like this video anyway? ❤ Special thanks to our Patreon supporters for selecting the Thai Islands and for making this trip happen - find out more here: patreon.com/danegerandstacey
@Dave B That's definitely a predicament! One of our viewers travels with his cat actually, can't recall if it was in these comments or on our Facebook page, he said it was challenging haha
I was crying the whole time, we are dog lovers we have 5 right now I love them it gives sense of closure, peace & they make you exercise going for a walk
Dane and Stacey you are special people. This was difficult to watch as my wife and I have taken in numerous cats and dogs and have loved and cared for each of them. Thanks so much for sharing this touching video.
Our few hours were fun, hopefully this just helps spread the message for more important people like you and your wife that can (and do!) actually adopt. You guys are amazing.
I can clearly see that you both are animal lovers.I did the same in India...but went even further.I found a cat and brought it home to live with me.19 years later (that's a very long time for a cat to live!) it sadly passed away. Oh, the memories.....Thanks for sharing your time helping others in need❤️
Wow. That puts our few hours to shame - what a cool story! Can only imagine how tough it was going through the process of getting the cat to you. Awesomeness.
@@DanegerAndStacey Took a few long days in Bombay getting all the papers. Finally got the cat it's passport and off we headed to the airport. It was only when we got home that we noticed that the cat was registered as ''canine'' in its passport....ha ha, no one even noticed!!
What an amazing place! I would have had a very hard time saying goodbye to that sweet pup. I'm so happy she found her forever home! I hope the rest of them find homes soon. Thanks for sharing this experience, guys!
Loved the video. We are living in Hua Hin and adopted a soi dog. She really adds a lot of joy to our lives. Thank you for urging folks to volunteer at the shelter. I have enjoyed your all of your stories but this may be my favorite. Thank you for sharing your lives with us. If ever in Hua Hin, please let us know. Cheers, Ken and Jana.
Catching up on your old videos and can’t believe you went to a lot of the same places we’ve just visited or going to go! We loved Koh Lanta and the animal welfare center was one of our favourite places! Again we’ve vlogged it if you want to check it out! So many cute cats and dogs!! We sadly didn’t get to walk a dog but got lots of cuddles from the kittens! 😍 We would’ve loved to be able to adopt a cat or dog but we sadly aren’t living together yet! So easily to get attached and want to help them especially when they’ve been rescued 😩 Tinsel was adorable! Gave you so much affection 😍
Glad you guys got to check it out as well - so amazing huh! They actually had a massive flood recently, we saw on their Insta stories, hopefully theyve recovered now
New to your vblog..going for 3 months to DaNang, Hoi An..as well as another month traveling SEA in oct 2019..your way of showing your travel is so, informative, caring and kind..been great following you guys...we are a well traveled Canadian couple spending the last 4 winters in Thailand...glad that they will work on education for neuter and spaying. We will look into going there when we go to Ko Lanta ❤️🇨🇦❤️
Argh we just spent the last half hour playing with the puppers at a random local rice eatery 140km outside of Ho Chi Minh city... get back to our room and you've uploaded this! We get to Thailand in a fortnight... we will definitely be visiting this doggo and pupper rescue centre.... our doggo back home may get a new friend. Thanks for another awesome video guys! Impressed with your restraint in not adopting Tinsel.
I have followed you guys for a looong time, and this is by far my favourite video yet. Think we need another trip back to Thailand purely to see the elephants at Elephant Jungle Sanctuary again and do this...killer video, guys!
Such a lovely video! That welfare centre is doing an amazing job, not only looking after but also re-housing the animals. The dog walking is a brilliant idea because (Tinsel clearly excepted ha ha) dogs love their walks. So good to hear that Tinsel now has a home. She clearly got you guys thinking about having a dog one day in the future!
We always talk about having a dog, something we both want, but doesnt fit with life right now. Happy we can hang out with some pups and help spread the word though.
That was kind of emotional. Know Stace wanted Tinsel but also understand it’s not possible being full time travelers. But was a very good deed you both did!
Definitely tough to leave, but hopefully we've helped spread the word a little and dogs/cats will be adopted because we helped 😀 But we totally would love a puppy on the road with us.
They do it so frequently I imagine it's pretty straight forward. But you do need to wait a few months while they certify, get the treatments they need etc and then until someone can be the flight assistant and bring the doggo to you.
My friend and me went there last month, both dog owners. It was on our list like number 1 to do in Koh Lanta. Took MURPHY ( not adopted yet ) and SCOOBY ( adopted to Canada ) for a walk. Loved it, dogs were really happy to go out for a walk. Thing is....there is a list of already adopted dogs/cats.... they just need 'a ride' to new happy home ( it's mostly Europe, Canada ). Free of charge. So if you plan to go to Koh Lanta and flying back home from Bangkok..... www.lantaanimalwelfare.com Better to contact them ASAP. It will cost you nothing. Thank you all.
Tinsel found her new home in germany! If my flight would be 2 months later I could help her to get there :/ But maybe I‘m going to meet her during my visit next week ☺️
Oh wow this is so beautiful !! I’m so happy to see someone stepped up to do something about all the stray cats & dogs. I’ve seen so many in Thailand and it breaks my heart. Saw a dog in Chiang Mai in such horrible condition. I felt awful leaving him there but I just didn’t know what to do 😞 I have spent my evenings in Koh Phangan feeding all the strays in the area I’m staying in, giving them some loving. I will so definitely be visiting this place in Koh Lanta!! Also, my city is on that fly list... Maybe I can try to make up for not helping that doggy in Chiang Mai, and help out by flying a sweety to their furever home ❤️
That would be so cool if you could visit and help relocate a doggo! The flight list changes often depending on who's adopted, but you can sort of see the theme that it's generally Europe and North America. You should totally visit.
its a scammy business like soidog, making money out of animals and keep them in cages when tourists bleeding heart millennials are not looking. They refuse local adoptions so they can make money trafficking them in planes and charging export and vaccine assistance at 5 times the real cost

How can a non profit charge 200 baht compulsory entry fee? That is a business. Not a non-profit, and illegal. Cannot force compulsory entry ffee 'for a donation' as if it is compulsory then it ain't no donation is it? And, the export to other countries thing is a torture for animals, they can be adopted here. I had to buy 2 dogs as neither soidog or Lanta welfgare would let me adopt because I am in Thailand so they could not make money from international export assistance, nor could they make money with the injections etc as i said 'i can do that myself i am Thai'... Exporting dogs for adoption internationally (and get people to take it for you to fly with it for free.. ) IT IS NOT NONPROFIT IT IS PROFITABLE. Its a scam. Airplanes kill dogs; my brothers 2 dogs died in a plane. Adoptions to Thailand are close to ZERO, and they make profit arranging the life-endangering flights for international adoption. Locval adoption is kinder, and there are enough people wanting to adopt.. it is just that Lanta Animal Welfare and Soidog Thailand are focusing on making money by 'helping you export your dog' and from cage, to airplane suffering, to risk of dying from asphyxiation and cold below air cargo... I have seen the tin roofs (hot hot hot) and cages where the dogs are imprisoned when no tourists are there, and now in covid, 60 dogs and 50 cats or more.. who is walking them? No one.. they are in ages all day. No dog shelter should have cages to live in, they should be free roaming. they also chain them to posts when people are not there

I teared up a little bit . Tinsel hit the heart strings

Hey, Daneger and Stacey thank you for sharing this lovely video! Do you know what is the process If one adopts a dog (international) from there?
They do it so frequently I imagine it's pretty straight forward. But you do need to wait a few months while they certify, get the treatments they need etc and then until someone can be the flight assistant and bring the doggo to you.
I love Tinsel she is super cute
glad to see they respect the animals and are taking care of them instead of eating them as they do in China amd elsewhere....
