(at spices at your own risk :) )
sharmaldh Omg that sounds delicious, If only they sold this type of food where I live :( I would wanna try this at home, but I feel like I'd ruin it haha
Everyone is complaining about hygiene and all that shit. When in reality this fast food is probably healthier and cleaner than what you would find in fast food joints in America. Stop your whining you eat way worse

1. oil 2. coriander (substitute by cilantro/parsley?) 3. egg 4. chopped green chillies 5. sprinkle ? crushed pepper or salt 6. red chilli powder 7. more red chilli powder !!! 8. probably turmeric or mustard paste (dint know we use mustard sauce in street food) 9. paav breads 10. salt again 11. chilli powder again (will need fire extinguisher probably) 11. yellow whatever again 12. allow to set then flip and press down 13. flip, fold slice and serve with chopped onions
Sad to me, to see so many people criticizing a culture that is different from their own. We, in America, are the heaviest nation (myself included) and have no right to look down on any practice elsewhere. People are starving and would give anything to have this wonderful food before them. Thank you for the video.
funny, that sandwich was probably only a couple bucks, while in America, street food is expensive because it has become "hip" and sometimes considered "gourmet" in some cities.
for a rough idea i pay 105 indian rupees for 3 pieces of tender chicken strips from kfc , here in my home town belgaum ...this disco fry egg may have cost me 20-30 rupees depends on local egg price that month ---monsoon ,summer etc
Yes.. but don't forget in America - there are licenses, regulations, food inspection costs and costs to setup and operate on the street.... I'll gladly pay $15 for a taco if said taco is tasty and safe to eat... rather than spending a day on the toilet...
i see him prepare right under my nose ..im actually inspecting him :) , im satisfied .. on the other hand i've seen many videos where the cooks do crazy things to the food like spit in it behind closed doors in the kitchen in fancy eating houses .. i eat street food a lot and the only rule i follow is i always make sure the ingredients are fresh ..the fancy restaurants always freeze their meats and perishables where as the street food guys guys here cannot afford refrigeration so im always safe from the deadly infectious stuff ..
***** Less perhaps but still substantial fees.. from parking permits to state/town/city license fees. Then, there is truck repair costs, equipment fees... you can't just roll a truck up to a corner and start selling... the cops will be there shutting you down! You also aren't buying in huge bulk like a B&M restaurant so your costs are higher.. You also can't make EVERYTHING From scratch on the truck so factor higher costs for those ingredients...
Hmmm ... Since the uploader could not unfortunately put the list up ... The red thing's Chilli powder .. The yellow is turmeric powder .. the brown stuff is coriander powder and the white stuff is Sodium Chloride ! :P ... And that big stuff he puts .. its called 'Pav' .. a form of bread Heavy dose of Spices .. if you aren't used to an Indian cusine
All the cooks seem to have nice, clean cloths. Their nails are clean. Their facial hair seems to be tightly groomed. I don't know why some many comments are about how dirty they are. I don't see that at all.
I'm Indian and I wanna give you some advice/criticism. I've been to other countries and I've seen their ways. And from that I can say the following: Foreigners like Indian food. They like its variety, taste, healthy ingredients and its nature on the whole. What they don't like is part of the way it's prepared. In their daily lives, they take great care to use hand sanitizers, to wash their hands whenever possible and to clean their keyboards with anti bacterial stuff and so on. Even in Restaurants it's a Federal law for Cooks and employees of that restaurant to wash their hands for 20 seconds with soap and hot water whenever they go back to work after bathroom break. They use gloves when touching food and for each customer they serve, they change them with new ones. This is the kind of hygiene they are used to. When they look at how Indian food is prepared, even for me, its a little scary. Nobody knows when the last time the cook washed his hands was. Nobody knows where he kept his fingers the last time and what he touched, and so on. The cook in another video was not covering his mouth when coughing even as he is cooking a dish in front of him. One might argue that the heat in the frying pan kills any bacteria and so on, but when you don't follow a set protocol and you defend yourself with an excuse, you definitely invite criticism. The day a protocol is followed by all street vendors in India is the day when Indian street food truly shines in its rightful glory.
At least don't touch them with bare hands, use polythene gloves, its dead cheap. 1 serving gives him 20 rupees, but 20 rupees would buy him medical gloves , 50 of them. That's not too bad is it?
***** Dude you have no idea. These guys seem poor cause they're working the streets but they can actually make a ton of money. I go to night markets all the time and one of the things I sometimes see is people working at a booth while wearing rolex watches because they make that much money.
I had a go at making something similar, and it actually turned out to be amazing. I ended up getting a curry powder mix and using that as I'm not confident with choosing spices. Originally when I saw this video I was shocked when I saw the man squash the bread flat, but as it turns out, this works a treat, seams to help keep the entire thing moist, the bread absorbs some of that egg. This is the answer to some of my grocery spending problems!!!

Well said. They all want to 'fix' India. Sadly, they are only taught bad things about India in their schools and news channels. They are taught to "fix" India and the rest of the world since their childhood as if other countries are some kind of god-given burden upon them. Yellow is tumeric. And your opinions are worthless, the traffic noise was the only thing I enjoyed about this video. Put it into context. Pile of shit in a dirty, busy, nasty city, in a dirty, nasty country filled with disease and poverty.
It is best when the tumeric and egg and bread and oil all become one. It is delicious for the mouth, but it also excites the eyes and nose. Combined with the glorious traffic, your senses are full - eyes, mouth, nose, ears, and the touch of your fingers as you pull it apart. Very important for the recipe.
I went to McDonald's the other day and got a Filet-O-Fish combo and a Bacon McDouble. I was eating it in my vehicle in the parking lot and listening to an audio book when I glanced up and saw the McDonald's worker I ordered from was outside having a cigarette. She waved at me and I nodded and had to wait 7 minutes before she went back inside so I could eat in comfort again. I don't think that employees should be bothering or even trying to socialize with customers outside of the McDonald's restaurant or drive through, but that is another story. I went to McDonald's for dinner last night and got a Big Mac combo and a 10 piece Chicken McNuggets with barbecue dipping sauce. As I was driving to the second window the same girl was still working. She was acting somewhat obsequious and attempting small talk when she asked, 'why don't you come eat inside instead of in the parking lot'. That really bothered me for many reasons. First of all, I don't want my routine or actions to be tracked by a fast food employee. Secondly, she should not try to tell me how I should live my life. I do not want to eat inside because I find it less comfortable and would much rather be inside my vehicle listening to an audiobook and enjoying myself and my privacy. Overall, I think it was very unprofessional to bring this up. I should have a clean slate with each drive through visit, not have to get the third degree because I committed some sort of faux pas, which I don't think I did because I often see people eating in fast food parking lots. That looks absolutely bloody lovely. I was starting to drool down my shirt by the third demonstration. What's the greenery that goes in with the egg at the beginning? Chopped Coriander tops? Spinach?
julian correa Yes! I would go right in the compost pile. No doubt there is plenty of bacteria and other micro organisms that it would be steaming and fertile within a few days.
Tremayne Chetty is it true that "tumeric" can also whiten your teeth, i just read it in an article and they said that it is actually some candidates in a beauty pageant used tumeric
dandelions Yep .... Apparently ... in ancient India .. a bit of turmeric applied on 'Neem' twigs ( Azadirachta indica ) was a staple morning 'toothbrush +paste' stuff .... It might have been effective too ... !!! There has been no evidence of Dentists in India prior to 1800's ... :P .. Then the Britishers came & changed the face of dental hygiene !!
i have never been to mumbai lately . i was too small to know much then . i think many street food vendors will make u this .. just search for someone with many eggs stacked to display and show him this video hw will whip u one up... :) i wish u nirvana with good healthy food
huha!! i salute you indian peolpe,, u made it, and proudly present infront of the viewers without pretending how clean is you.... interesting i wanna visit indian country hopefully oneday.. :).
+Jessa Lavilla do try in test quantities as your immune system may not be as well adapted as ours in case you dont eat this sort of street food wherever you are from as lot of people worry its not hygienic but all that heat should make it safe to any human i believe
Would you like some eggs and bread with your spices?
They call it "disco fry" because when the explosive shits hit you, you'll be doing "the hustle" just to get to a toilet!
Vijay Nafria lmfaooooo

I have never seen someone just mash bread. Seems to defeat the purpose but I'm sure it tastes crazy good.
Grilled cheese? Well I smash mine.

I'd rather watch eggs. Eeew... 🙊
Various spices and flavorings, along with some bread it appears...

will try it...looks awesome especially its name adds a bit, disco :)
That looks like a bhaji press he's using....
The charm to the video is that guy in blue who enjoys the food, he personally has rendered more ambiance, taste, flavor and catch to the dish.
all that chilli and chilli powder...damn thats gonna burn new holes in my ass!
wish to have these foods in philippines too, I already tasted street foods wen i was in malaysia and it really taste delicious... i miss it.
there is probably more spices than egg

Someone take the horns away from those drivers in the background, ffs.
their horns are connected to their pedals.
Lol.

The horns are honking in support of eggs.
Even though I'm a rich person, I prefer eating the streets foods... I really love it!
Much rather eat this than the shit plastic fast food we have in USA
That looks absolutely bloody lovely. I was starting to drool down my shirt by the third demonstration. What's the greenery that goes in with the egg at the beginning? Chopped Coriander tops? Spinach?
I wouldn't feed my dog that pile of horseshit.
julian correa Yes! I would go right in the compost pile. No doubt there is plenty of bacteria and other micro organisms that it would be steaming and fertile within a few days.
well in the jungle that's the circle of life !
julian correa We try to overcome nature, but the jungle is all around us.
800lb Gorilla lovely reply
Eggs dry as sand. Sooo overcooked
@sminthian its paprica and tumeric and i believe some salt
the third ingredient is it chutney powder or garam masala?
What is the yellow spice that he is using?
tumeric
Tremayne Chetty is it true that "tumeric" can also whiten your teeth, i just read it in an article and they said that it is actually some candidates in a beauty pageant used tumeric
dandelions i have heard that it can lighten skin and make it glowy/bright, but im not sure about teeth.
dandelions Yep .... :P ..
Then the Britishers came & changed the face of dental hygiene !!
what is that red soupy dish that was served with the egg sandwich?
