Fun fact: Dio is Italian for God. So when the father says “You better pray to God” JB actually does just that, prays to the God of Rock, Ronnie James Dio.
That makes "now go my son and rooooooooock" a holy benediction.
Actually even funnier fact.. Dio comes from the Greek word Dias .. the Greek word (the original one) for Zeus (Dio, Deus etc all derive from Dias - Zeus)
Dio was a devout Christian, for those who don't know.
The name Dio wasnt a reference to god but actually taken from a mafia member named Johnny Dio.
@@Stefan- That is true. Personally I was just stating where the name "Dio" originaly comes from (as are the words Deus, Dias etc that are used today in Latin). The fact that names have a specific origin (and its true that most Latin words derive from ancient Greek words) doesnt mean that thats the reason people choose them today :)
It is a movie. The Pick of Destiny. It’s the origin story of Tenacious D. Great cast. A lot of stars.
Fun fact: The kid in this part is the older brother on The Goldbergs.

Fun bit of trivia for this one.
When Dio came in to record his part, he brought his own mic. The guy running the studio said "That won't be necessary, we have state of the art equipment here." So Dio did one take with the studio mic, and the power of his voice shattered the membrane in it and destroyed it. He said "This always happens, that's why I bring my own." Then he recorded a second take with his own mic and that's what's in the movie.

Tenacious D is actually very talented, they are good vocalists and musicians and really pull off the comedy with their abilities.

Rocky Horror Picture Show! A definite must-watch. It’s kind of a satire of old-school black & white horror movie tropes, wrapped up in a “rock n roll musical” that can only be described as “manic”. LMFAO
Meatloaf is in it, and his role is integral to the story, though he’s not really a main character. I’d imagine the movie as a whole would be a bit on the strange side for Brad, NGL. But I bet Lex would 100% love it.
Even if you only ever watch it the once though, I can’t stress it’s cultural impact enough.
Correction: I’d say it’s *homage rather than satire, on second thought.
“Mourning Woodward” should’ve been a character in RHPS. I’m thinking a sad nerd with references to a huge crank LMFAO

But DO NOT just watch the video. You must find someone who's been to Rocky Horror before and have them take you to a midnight theater showing. Seriously, do not just rent the video. There's no other movie where it is more important to see it in a theater.

When Dio recorded his part for the song he actually broke their mics, so he used his own personal mic that he brought with him just in case.

Unfortunately Meatloaf doesn't have a huge part in Rocky Horror but he's really good in it.
I didn't realize until after he passed away that he is Scott Ian's father in law.

I got to see this when it premiered in theaters. Once the movie ended I said loudly "I'm sooo glad I got high for this" to which the crowd around me.busted out laughing. It was a great musical experience

Meat Loaf played the dad in the movie. R.I.P. Meat Loaf and RJD. by the way. the first 10 minutes of the movie "Pick Of Destiny" is sort of a homage to rock opera movies like Tommy and Pink Floyd The Wall; where the whole movie is all music and singing.
Rocky Horror is so friggin iconic! Even if you don’t like musicals, you have to experience that film at least once in your life. 🙏
Brad you definitely need to see The Rocky Horror Picture Show. It's definitely a one of a kind movie and the music in it is actually good. You guys should react to The Time Warp from it for sure before seeing the movie.
The Pick of Destiny is absolutely hilarious throughout, also stars Dave Grohl from Foo Fighters. Genius musically and plays on all the rock n roll tropes tastefully. Would love to see you react to it if you start doing movies.
The cameos in this movie are crazy. Meatloaf, Dio, Vanilla Ice, Ben Stiller. This movie has the best star power just in cameos.

Agree, and what makes Master Exploder so hilarious is that it's impossible to sing in real life (when they do it 'live' they always lip sync it). Just try to sing along the opening howl! It goes on for like 45 seconds!! Impossible to sing...

In his prime he could prolly sing it decently similarly, he probably just decided not to do it because he would fuck-up his vocal chords long-term (since if he did it in one concert, everyone would want him to do it every time), but now when he's older he stopped giving a fuck as much.

I'm saying that it was 'electronic magic' that let him hit that initial note, to when he finally hits the high scream after about 64 notes into the song. Try to sing along to that, you'll realize, it's not possible. Why do you think they use a recording of this song whenever they perform it live?
Meat Loaf's appearance in Rocky Horror predates Bat Out of Hell. The music is amazing.

COMMUTER 🥋 Young Hearts
This song plays out a montage in the original 1984 version of The Karate Kid. It's a cheesy 80s pop song about teenage love, performed by a very successful songwriter who wrote lots of hits in the 80s and 90s. For me, the song is a nostalgia piece as I grew up on Karate Kid. Much interest in the franchise has been rejuvenated by the reprisal of the story through the Cobra Kai series, available on Netflix. It's hilarious and fun, if you ever get the chance to watch it.
