- At today's Senate Homeland Security Committee hearing on the surge of unaccompanied minors at the southern border, Sen. Rob Portman (R-OH) clashed with Sec. of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas over who is responsible for the border crisis.

I believe we have inadvertently discovered the answer to this entire problem and it's kind of hidden right in this video starting at about 06:00 - where Mayorkas reports that his "..parents brought (him) to this country...." There we have it. Had we never let him in here in the first place we would not have this problem. Thank you Secretary Mayorkas for illuminating this for us very clearly and succinctly.

Do we know where these kids and families are being sent? Per the Washington Post, many are being sent to northern border states like Montana, Michigan and North Dakota. I wonder how those decisions are being made.

I've worked in businesses that primarily hire immigrants for decades. Never before have I seen people sending their children alone to a strange country. In the past, the parents would come, get established, and then go get their children. I'm talking about when ICE was active & coming here was a lot more difficult. NO ONE is questioning the actions of the kind of parents who would send these kids alone. Or with coyotes. These kids are tools. Just a means to an ends.

It's a sticky situation for long time, either open the gate to let's the refuge enter or close the gate and try to help them as much as possible.
There is no right or wrong answer in this case. However as most movies I watched, I always scream "STUPID" when an idiot open the gate without a proper plans and the enemies used it to enter the city, then kill everyone or create enough damage inside.

I understood what you meant The same as my grandmother who sat in a concentration camp for years prior to getting a sponsor and coming to the United States legally and our family has worked their asses off since day one of stepping foot in this country and has never gotten a hand out because you had to be able to support yourself in order to become a citizen I don't know what's happened to that but I'm sick of supporting people who blatantly disregard our laws while the American people suffer
