The Kerala police had to step in because the media is getting out of hand, in this particular case. In India, we must prevent media trials from eroding the civil rights of citizens which includes right to defense, right to a far trial, right to be presumed innocent until proven guilty etc The media should have a clear definition of their duties including reporting and not giving their opinions or carrying out investigations.
This case will have to be tried outside Kerala probably given the 24/7 exposure, nobody has a neutral stand anymore.
