Thank you so much for the thorough guidance on how to take care of dianthus plants. This is the first time im growing them in my garden. My Mom used to grow them in garden when I was a child, and I have wonderful memories of that. They are my favorite flowers.
I just bought 2 pots of them. I was reading online they need a lot of sun? I live in ireland. Should i get a lamp for plants? And how often should i water them? Thank you!
Bro, ever tried cross pollinating petunias? Yes- do they change colour? No- will you try for us and let us know? I searched everywhere but can't get satisfying answers and i tried myself last winter but i think i made some mistakes while pollinating. Is it worth trying again? Pls answer
No actually...haven't tried it yet..If I do in coming days, sure, I would let you know. But color changing would happen. Sure, it would be definitely worth it to give it a try n please share your experience :-)
@@GardeningUpbeat I'm too excited to tell u that it workss 😀 I cross pollinated red star and blue star petunia and as a result, i got a beautiful "crimson" coloured star petunia that bloomed today, waited for a whole year, worth it 😅
At which temperature dianthus start making buds...I have dianthus with full growth but there is no sign of flowering....temperture is 20 degree here...is temperature low or any other pblm is there?pls sir need ur help
Congrats! Yes, it does need direct sunlight to bloom well. Here we grow in Winter season and I try to provide them whole day of sunlight. >> Do I need to water it daily ? Please do only when top soil looks dry. Or else, please avoid. My area is hot and humid and so need to water daily in Spring or in Summer. But in winter, I do it when the top soil is dry. Hope that helps and plz let me know if you have any questions, thank you!
Around10-12 days...don't remember the exact day as never cared too much about the time. But as per my memory...it was around 10-12 days. The single petaled last more than double.
Do you have any video of carnation care. I bought few carnation seedlings in August and now they are about 6" tall. I put vermicompost and dap once in 15 days. They haven't started flowering. How do we make this bushy when do they start flowering
Please check out the video here - ua-cam.com/video/WbO4_IcduA0/v-deo.html For flowering, it's bit early actually. As they are growing well, definitely they would bloom in coming days. For bushy plants, we need to grow the dwarf variety. I have shown the difference in the video, thank you :-) Please note - I have been trying to cover each and every plants with updates. In case, you get any doubt in future, please do a search as - gardening upbeat "flower name" and you would get them immediately :-)
Sorry to hear that..please enable the Subtitle option and you would find all the details in English language. Once again sorry, English is not my first language but I love to do video in English language :-)
Drooping...there could be only 2 issues - Lack of sunlight and Soil is too soggy or wet. Min 3-5 hours sunlight is needed for better flowering. In less sun, they would survive but flower would be less and in that case, you would also need to water only when top 1 inch soil is dry.

Beautiful blooms, can u pl let us know how to preserve seeds for next season.
Thank you very much :-) We can collect the seeds and then store in a air tight bag, away from water. Or, can be also stored in small jewellery box :-)
