I knew Kyle would bail. He’s a single track rider who’s a spoiled baby. If it ain’t a 2022 Ktm or beta he’s not going to ride it. I’m actually shocked you offered him the spot. He’s in Utah, population 70 lol that mans not sick. He knows if he claims sick nobody can question it. I watch kyles channel because he makes good videos but I can see right away that he’s not a guy I’d ever wanna hang out with. I hate to say things like that but, it is what it is.
I just got a positive Covid result so I’m hanging out in the basement away from my family watching you awesome people. I love these videos guys and I’m not even a dirt bike rider. Thanks for all the awesome content and keep it up!
That doesn't sound like jetting. More like a broken powervalve or iffy ignition. To me it's sounded rich in the last episode but making it richer sounded no different.
Man, if he thinks the stock mikuni vm38 is crispy he should try a keihin pwk38 airstriker. With the rad valve that's already on there it's a magical combination.
The mikuni on the wrs is really hard to get right mine is anyways I like it better than the air Stryker but I spent good money getting it perfect also boysen reeds and a fmf helped
Great video series, love seeing torture test magazine out with you guys easily the most underrated off-road channel out there. Gotta love how yous all ended up buying mostly Yamaha 😂
This is awesome. I've been a big fan of all of these cheap bike challenges since yall started them. May I ask if we can buy the see you on the trails stickers? Be a good me to keep going
I've been re watching this series and I think what made the rad dragon in that situation is that from choosing the bike there's no teamwork that happened or even a planning. To explain further we all know Chase aren't mechanically inclined guy yet as we see in the first episode that he just bought a bike that he feels good which is actually a good bike but in a poor condition. That mistake could also be corrected if his team mate Eric helped to fixed the YZ after they bought a backup bike (that left handed KTM 620?-630?) I would also mention the strategy that Wes and Charles did which is to buy the same year and model bike in that case they could swap parts if they need to and luckily the second WR came with a lot of spare parts. I watched every episode of this series the day they were uploaded in youtube and man you should continue doing this but this time justin is on the other side of the team
Sounds about right! But he said at the end that he would probably do it again haha. He was spot on when he said that the race is just as hard mentally as it is physically. - Chase
Yep, it wasn't the smartest option... but it was our only option that late in the game. Luckily it was the least of our worries for the 24 hour race 👍🏼 - Wes

@@dr.hugog.hackenbush9443 no mph and a cr has a totally different trans that's what the wr is wide ratio its 5th gear is super high so you can ride it on the freeway cr 500 is an open class motocross you wouldn't want that high of a gear
Well, that is a good question haha. I didn't own my first dirt bike til I was 25 so I had zero experience working on them before that. I've only ever rode 4 strokes so anything two stroke is even more foreign to me. I've definitely learned a lot since I started riding, but I've also always had new or new(er) bikes so other than working on suspension, I've never had to do much engine work. I learned a ton from the 5 miles of hell series when Charles helped me rebuild my Honda 450 top to bottom. Trust me, I'm always asking questions and trying to learn more. And if you think I'm bad, AJ probably knows less than I do. You'd be surprised at how many supercross racers have very little mechanical knowledge. - Chase
@@rmatvmc I was only busting your balls chase haha, I know what you do for rocky mountain media and you do an awsome job on it. And yeh it is very surprising that some of the best rider's are absolutely clueless.
In the category of 'crap old people say' - "This is called a petcock. It turns the fuel on and off" hahah. kids these days and their FI bikes! I'll give Keefer a pass, he only 15yrs old.

On Chase's YZ? Yeah stuck power valve maybe, or spark blowing out when lugged wrong.
Good call. The flywheel/stator was hammered and coming apart
these guys are cool cause its real world but also its like blind leading the blind on most of what they do
A needle clip position would never make a bike run so poorly.

aftermarket carbs are for people who cant setup stock carbs

Trial-by-fire jetting VM's are 490 Yamaha's. If you can jet them, you can jet anything.
Round slide vs flat slide. Huge difference in performance
For some reason I find my 87 Yz so comfortable and the power valve fix just woke that beast up love my vintage two strokes 🔥🔥🔥

Love it! The way racing is for most of us.
Oh man! Race day is gonna be...lets say...interesting?!?!?!
I love these builds and races!!
I love all the sponsor stickers on a bike that is supposed to be $1500
AJ not asking "is it safe" is an indication of its quality.
Are you trying to say the Rad Dragon wasn't mint?! :) - Chase
Sweet, you guys were in my backyard. 🤘
the power valve is probably moving slowly or stuck, it may also be getting stuck in different positions which will make the power curve unpredictable.
I also was wondering why they didn't check the power valve, especially after they re-jetted the carb to altitude and still were having those symptoms.
bro the kdx would smoke all those bikes trust me

Good to see you guys in the high desert
Did you not have the other part of the case, the chunk that broke off, to weld? Woulda seemed like a better option.
