Would anyone here know what the sizes are for the normal screws for the other strings? Or which floyd model uses the same string lock screws? I have a guitar that came with a d tuna and i just want to get rid of it. It's crazy how long ive been trying to figure this out and i dont want to buy the wrong size.
One thing that wasn't mentioned for first time Floyd users is that little pinch block has a hole in it for the bolt to go into as to not just press it tight against the string at an uneven angle. It may be the video, but it looks like the block is tilted and the bolt didn't hit inside that hole. Not your first rodeo, so I'm guessing that's all it is. Great video, thanks!

So just to clarify, if the bridge is at the position level with the body it wont ever work correctly? It has to be angled back and sat against the bodywork to function as it should?
The bridge needs to be locked so it can't be pulled back. The best solution is to get a locking system like Tremol-No, but if you don't mind it being angled back i suppose that could work too. That might have negative side effects like your intonation being incorrect and cause damage to your top if you don't have a fully routed out cavity for the bridge, though.
@erikguitardesigner thanks for the response mate, yes I realised the hard way that when the bridge is angled back so that it 'locks' you can't use the d tuna in E position because it gets stuck against the body and you can't intonate. Currently I've managed to make it 'float' in its level position with the tuna working almost as intended but when you engage and disengage the tuna it goes sharp, it looks like a tremel-no or other is needed. Will the bridge still dive with a locking device fitted? Will sub now as well seeing as you took the time to reply good sir! 🫡
@@stevedent4809 The Tremel-no is really cool because it has three functions that are easy to change. You can let the bridge function as normal, completely lock it like a hardtail or put it in dive-only mode. Easy install instructions as well. Thank you so much for the sub!!!
@erikguitardesigner 1 last question just so I understand it fully, the locking system when set up in normal mode will allow the d tuna to work correctly? Or it must be in dive only? Thank you sir for the easy to follow video!
@@stevedent4809 Great question, the d-tuna only works when the bridge is fully locked like a hardtail or in dive only mode.

isn't d-tuna scratching your guitar body when you try to disengage it?
Sometimes it does depending on the neck set and amount of cavity that’s been routed. I leave it up to the owner to make the final decision on it if we encounter that problem.
Can you show a trem stop installation, most videos suck

I'm not getting a perfect day when I release it I'm constantly tuning mine and then it gets too tight on the fine tuner to where the detuner won't come in and out anymore
There's little things that can throw it off. I have a client right now who's having a hard time with this as well. You might have to try it a few times starting from scratch to completely installing it again.
get the string as close to pitch as you can before locking it down at the nut. eddie himself said the d-tuna only worked consistently when the fine tuner on the bridge was backed all the way out.

Will this bit work with the Gotoh 1996 device?
I don’t know for sure but I think it will. Isn’t the Gotoh floating trems licensed by floyd rose? Should be the same but I don’t know for sure because i don’t have direct experience.

It only works on top mounted Floyds. If your guitar is fully floating, it won't work. But there is an alternative, the tonevise pitch shifter. They have different versions depending on what trem you have...
Alternatively, get the Sophia 2:92 Deluxe Pro. Arguably the most advanced and ultimate version of a Floyd Rose, it's very niche and not many people know about it. It has built-in stabilizers, a wheel to change tunings on the fly, more accurate fine tuners, and a detuna
It works better on a original floyd or one that doesn't tilt down at the back like that nasty EVH special that comes standard with some of the evh guitars.
