Raptor, subbed a few days ago. Really enjoying this series. Anno 1800 looks fantastic and I've even delayed my journey through it since I'm learning quite a lot from your playthroughs. I've enjoyed tycoon based games in the past and this has sparked my interest again. Thank you for that! Lastly, and using Anno as one your most recent examples, keep driving the entertaining focus that the footprint of your work has. It makes great games much, much better. In your island of Raptoria you have three beaches.Maybe you can organize fishing like you did in one of your other let’s plays during the beta. It can improve efficiency with the different things done at beaches. EDIT:Nevermind you seem to have already done it. Nice quick thinking!
A useful tip that I have found out playing this game, you can group up ships and assign them to numbers, so you can have a group of ships of the line assigned to number 1 so you can just click on 1 to select them, all you have to do is select the ships you want and press control+1, you can also add more ships to your control group by selecting the group and holding shift while you select the additional ships and press control+1 again. This can also be used to keep track of trade ships

Really enjoying the series Raptor! For efficiency I would look at the different islands you have or plan on having and try to maximize space based on the resources the islands have. For example grain farms and pig farms are going to take up a lot of space so layout things so that you can maximize your production. Infrastructure is the foundation to everything!.If you layout everything with efficiency in mind it will take care of itself!
To possibly increase your efficiency at bringing in product, try adding more warehouses or improving them. Every time there is a red triangle symbol it seems to show that it doesn't have enough room to unload or load the horses transporting the goods. Meaning you are slowing progress for certain buildings. Also means that there is a chance when you have added buildings in the past that sometimes it may have not helped as much as adding a warehouse could have. Hopefully you see this.
I just love all the small history references you are making. Really gives the series its own unique flavor! I usually never watch Anno lets plays for longer than 1 episode, but you really got me addicted to this series! Gonna keep watching as long as you put out videos!

Hi Raptor, I love the videos!! I think you can lower your Royal Taxes by balancing your pops between farmers, workers, etc. As i understand it, the Royal Tax is a built in mechanism that punishes you for spamming a single class of pop in order to make money. You must have too many of some class of pop in order for your RT to be that high. Balancing that out would help improve your economy. Maybe someone who understands it better can chime in. A good ship name I think, would be The USS Paulamore. Seems suitable for the era the game takes place in. An would love to see this name carry out till the end of the series.
You can pause buildings so they dont cost money, instead of destroying it. That and in the new world you can get mortors to put on your ships which you manually fire but have a launch radius of 80% of the screen so outreach harbour defenses. You should have set your new world port to buy wood, that and maggies island in the new world has clay while yours doesn't.
I think you have to defeat all your enemies since you have started it with "MAggie". Also at the same time continue with making money to finance your development, quests and conquering other territories.

I wish they would make more into the naval combat system so u could press a button and have your ships doing different combat formations, and toggle so they will keep "RUN & GUN" insted of keep slowing down in the middle of a fight.
the beaten ships coming back to the island to join with the new ships reminds me of the part on hacksaw ridge when the new infantry came to relief the shot up war beat infantry
Great series of videos.. I simply cant cope with the level 3 Ai players - they get to Investors by the time Im at Artisans... and with huge navies...they just swamp me, especially the mad-old-bat who is hyper aggressive.

That's one thing I like about 1701, I ended up with a huge army and Navy and was able to take out 2 players at once.
