I just came across your channel a week ago, and really enjoy all the content, information, and case studies you provide. I don't mind a video of this nature is longer. Looking forward to your next videos. Thanks for the time and work you put in to providing this great content.
@@RobORourke Honestly. That was an awesome video. Simple to understand, but not too simple. No stupid yammin around but straight to the point. Great stuff.
Hey i'm a 15 year old who's trying to start a web design business and i came across your channel a couple months back. You completely change my view on how to sell websites and how to do it effectively through showing clients results, not style and and it's important to keep the clients trust. However i have two issues which is stopping me from starting this business. I hope you can answer them. Issue #1 - I'm not sure if i want to start looking for clients to create projects now or continue learning the stack. Currently i'm a full-stack who only knows basic-advanced concepts. However i would like to transition into that back end soon. The problem with going for clients now is that i think they'll have little trust in me since i am 15. I know how i would sell (thanks to your channel) but missing out that trust might make it impossible to close a sale. The problem with going with my stack is I've been learning for almost 3 years and my gut says to do sales now just to keep motivated. Issue #2 - Is i think my parents are starting to believe that this coding thing isn't for me. I know programming is a big passion of mine but if I lose the support of my parents then i don't think i can even start a business in the future. So i want to start sales early to prove that i'm capable with what I've learnt. If it's possible i would like to have a chat. You could review my skills and give advice of what to do. Sorry for the long message Thank you - Bilal
I think the best thing is for you to start putting your skills into action - go find some local clients (use your family and friends) and just build one site for now that helps someone. If you can start small you can build fast as you get momentum. Since you seem like a cool kid shoot me an email and I will see what I can do.
I loveddd your video. I literally owe you the knowledge I love that I know right now. I believe all your great value you've given out will come back to you.
Hey, Rob. Fantastic video. Valuable information, great instruction, and I like the Irish brogue. You're a kind and generous man. Hope you've been enjoying your adventurous travels and globe-trotting.
Most of your audience, including myself is a freelancer or running a web design business. So, can you give us a website example of a web designing agency that is almost perfect according to your vision? It will be great to see a live example. Thank you, love your content.
Great stuff, Rob! Love this type of video content, gives me a lot of stuff to think about. I saw your comment and this sounds like an awesome idea, I was going to recommend it- "I think the next video I will show some real example websites and show this in action."
Thank you for your great videos. I was starting to lose confidence in my abilities as a freelance web developer and you have given me new ideas and inspired me to do more.
Now we are talking. Now we are in the same line: "Dont SELL websites but RESULTS by focusing in ONE SERVICE and ONE NICHE. Deliver whatever you want to SOLVE this RESULT even if this contains a WEBSITE"
Hello! Thank you for this videos, I like the way you explain everything! Please, can you do a video about what keywords should we use on homepage? I'm looking forward for this, because I couldn't find good info nowhere. Have fun!
Thanks for the great video! Could you possibly explain the contractual side of a web design business? What to put in a contract with a client, what to watch out for, do you need to consult a lawyer, etc. Thanks again Rob!
Hey Rob, I was wondering if all those steps are done on the same page, or they can be done in multiple pages, with buttons and links to go to the next page ? Thanks for the reply :)
Ya it can be one or a few. Over a few you might focus on just one step for a whole page or much larger section. An "about us" page or "what we do" page could be a full page one just one step. But whichever way you so it they all need to be covered well to get sales from the site.
But what if you create the best website but the copywriting is very weak. Then it is way harder to have them generate a big ROI, even with a good website, right?
Great video! I am currently living in Vietnam with plans on moving back to the United States. With the current state of the world this may take longer than expected. Would you have any advice on how to market yourself to clients in countries where you currently do not live? Thanks for the AMAZING content!!!! -Ian
Make sure you have something they can trust about your work - because they are unlikely to trust you personally (not “you” - but anyone they don’t know). So work on having great local results before reaching out to them. And it’s not about design - but what you can do for them (so show them something they will want that matters to their biz)

Make it 1 hour and I will still watch to the end because it's valuable...
Ha good to know! I like to talk about this stuff but I like making it as easy to watch as possible too.

Hi
I have little confusion. i am not a creative person can i still become web designer?
It is much more about solving problems - so if you can listen to people well and see what they might need, you will be great at this!
Great content and valuable information, thanks!
Hey , i am a big fan of your channel. I have one question, how can i get more oversea client or online client ?
Do you have a video on how to make the website
I've an agency which has several products how could I apply this to my agency's website?

Value bomb. Thank you Rob!
My biggest doubt: what if people don't look on the internet for certain small local business?
How can you sell results in that case?
But what if you create the best website but the copywriting is very weak. Then it is way harder to have them generate a big ROI, even with a good website, right?

You're giving good information, but you're making your point, then beating it to death.
Putting that point in a body bag
good video, thank you!
Amazing love it
Thanks
This is straight-up gold!
Thanks Myles
Unfortunately when we hire website pros they dont seem to help much.
is this business still gonna work in 2023? so-called selling websites?
