    Here is a funny story for you. As a police officer for 30 years in Flint MI. We always had pepper spray on our gun belts. You carry them upside down so you done accidentally spray it. I was doing a search for drugs in a house, every time I bent down to look under something I heard…PHSSST. I’d stand up really fast thing, what the hell was that, a snake??? After the third time, as I was coughing and my eyes were burning…I figured it out! Ever time I bent over my hip bone was spraying the pepper gas! ……had to find a new place to put it on my gun belt! Lol

    All kidding aside regarding the bear spray, that stuff is debilitating! I just heard a police officer speak to a group of women and he said to ditch the pepper spray and change tp bear spray, for self defense. It can stop a human and incapacitate for much longer than pepper spray.
    You looked so pale on the boat, I couldn’t decide if it was the spray or the choppy ride!
    But thankfully you were your pretty self in the kitchen. Your meal looked terrific!

    OMG! My middle some about 4 years ago got a hold of the bear spray in our camper! It was the worse night ever lol. To this day I have sudden burning sensations when I sit in the drivers seat because the residue is still a little there.

      @@modernhomesteadalaska honestly I wouldn’t try washing, that residue is oil based and extremely hard to get rid of and anything that touches it then has that oil on it. Such a bummer. But really good to have when you need it lol.

    Oh no! someone lost their Cabin on the river :( I dont know if you tried this before, but if not try grilling/baking your salmon with low sodium taco seasoning packed thick on top of it, it is fabulous and the leftovers are great cold on a salad. I doubted it when someone cooked it for me and now its one of my favorite ways to eat it. A steak seasoning is also great lightly sprinkled on the reds :)

    First of all, I’m so happy to see your boy up and having a smile on his face. You can tell he enjoyed your cooking. My dad says if they pinks are chrome they’re good but we’ve never targeted them while fishing because we always fished for reds since they run at the same time. It’s nice to get out in the middle of the peace and quiet and enjoy some fishing. Second run reds are underway for Kenai and silvers are in ship creek thicker than last week now too. I’m so tired I’m torn between fishing again this weekend or staying close to home and relaxing 😂 my poor yard and house has had the short end of the stick the past 6 weeks and has been neglected but it’s so much more fun fishing and taking adventures rather than putting clothes away and mowing the grass 😅 the struggles of Alaskan summers

      And and omg!!!! Fish creek dip net opens tomorrow! It’s only a couple miles from us. And Aaron and I are like I don’t know where to go!!! I want to hit it all!!!! We were hoping to get an early silver but I honestly like the chrome pinks because of how mild they are

    • @TracyB-B
      @TracyB-B Рік тому

      Lol! If you don’t mind the mud, fish creek is a great place to go and it’s close. I like to go to kasilof or kenai for dipnetting(mostly because playing on the beach is half the fun). I kind of want to head back down to the peninsula to floss some more reds. Buuuuut catching some silvers at ship creek sounds awesome too 🤣 oh the options. Don’t forget the cloudberries are finally getting ripe and they’re pickable now(late this year). How does a women choose what to do this time of year 🤣
