I love how you know a lot about each of your palettes. From a consumer standpoint it was super helpful and from a collectors standpoint it felt like nerding out about makeup with a friend. And like someone else mentioned, glad that you don’t declutter just for the sake of declutterring!

Good to se someone whose reason to declutter is not « they don’t exist anymore », this reason bugs me.
You can use those cream pencils as bases for powder eyeshadow or potted shadows. They’re great for that purpose.

Chantecaillle is my fave for singles lol I’ve never tried a chantecaille product I didn’t adore. So dang expensive though. I think Adept is my favest formula in the world for special shades & blend bunny for mattes. You need to get addicted to indie lol I wish I could afford chantecaille fdtn it looks delightful, but $84?! That’s over half my beauty budget for the month I’ve had to cut way back. I love watching destash vids sooooo much great video me myself I did a destash in Jan it was just some morphe palettes that were ancient & I can’t bear to get rid of my makeup lol so no big destashes for me! I go on a case-by-case basis when it turns funky or else the pigment isn’t showing up then it goes in the garbage. It hurt me sooooooo bad to destash ND Biba, love, & glam. Some of my faves, but they had turn’d bad. So sad. But the formula changed!!!! So then it’s time to get binned. Great video!!!! You did a super good job except that we disagree on chantecaille lol
Yeah it takes me yeeears to declutter a palette. I got rid of my original KVD shade and light last October. Lol it’s came out around 2015 I believe.

Oh, I used to love pinks but I've been straying lately. I try to love purple, I don't know if they love me. Lol
I commend you. When it comes to sparkles, I have such a hard time parting with them. I tried to get rid of some the other day, and I probably let go of 3 out of 100's.

I am pretty sure that Terra Moon single shadows are not like the ones in the palette you have! TM was the first indie brand I ever bought singles from and they got me hooked, sparkly, shifty, smooth, yummy! I don't know what they did in that palette. You are not the only person who complained about it!
That's good to hear, honestly. It's prevented me from buying anything else from them, as this was my first purchase. Will have to try more.
The only small palletes I use are the ELF bite size in Rose Water and the Natasha Denona Mini Love. I had to get rid of all my other quads and 5 pan shadows because I always go for big eye shadows or singles lol there is no in between 😅

I would never declutter just because, and i usually move the palette into my not in use for now. I have gone back to the palette 6 months, a year later and decided i really like it again. So i currently have an atrocious amount of palettes. I do need to go through my palettes again as its been a minute.
After trying indie brand eyeshadows I will never purchase a palette in Sephora or Ulta ever again. The ONLY palettes I will or have purchased from Sephora/Ulta since winter of 2021 is Natasha Denona, Danessa Myricks, and ABH formula of the past 2-3 palettes. I have now been spoiled to death with Ensley Reign, Shine by SD singles, Odens eye, Electrum, Terramoons, Devinah and Clionadh.
Now I want to try Nomad, BBB, Unearthly, simply posh, Sydney grace, Cosmic beauty/brushes and some others!!
Absolutely agree! I bought a few Nomad palettes but haven't tried them yet. Now that you mention it, I've wanted to try Electrum and Simply Posh. How's the Electrum formula?
@@KariMeghan I like the Electrum formula but I don’t care for the super flakey ones she has. I have a several different formulas from electrum and I love the metallic and the multi chromes but the flakeys are hard to work with and so I no longer buy those types

Viseart for the win Also I love Lorac. Oh no no no Ensley Reign. Not cool at all. I never bought anything from them because of the prices, at first. Even though I have spent some serious money on makeup before. I have been hearing some unflattering behaviors about that brand. I’ll say I don’t care who people vote for or anything like that. I’ll let other people cancel for those reasons. It’s how they treat people that deters me from buying from certain companies. ER has nothing I can not find elsewhere.

I was debating getting a palette from ensley because I had seen good reviews about them but thank you for sharing your story! I’m not interested in that brand now!
They're probably nice enough and maybe I'm the outlier but it surely didn't feel good.
Took me half a day to get through the video but enjoyed it. I agree on so many of your opinions on brands you have. The only one I don’t buy anymore from the indies is Klarity. I had multiple palettes from them and I had 4 of the 6 I had have shimmers that didn’t age well at all; the binders completely evaporated and when I opened the palettes those shimmers exploded everywhere. So I decided I won’t buy going forward from them, even though they have some beautiful color stories and when I first get the palettes I enjoy the formulas I had problems within a year of purchasing. I am now a follower, lol. I am going to be binge watching your stuff to get caught up on things.

I really really wanted to like ensley reign. And as a designer that has worked in the field for 25+ years. I actually think AI is just another tool like any other new technology. I don’t think it can steal our jobs at all. BUT the cost of ensley reign … along with the most disappointing dusty mattes is so disappointing. Their shimmers are pretty but they also settle into lines and disappear off the eyes in 4 hrs. My ND and Pat McGrath palettes are expensive but at least they last alll night and even the next morning sometimes. I also feel like adept is the same quality as ensley reign. Really pretty color stories with dusty, crap mattes. Pretty shimmers that don’t last on your eyes. I don’t see how they can justify their price point.
I agree about the mattes. With Adept, I sometimes get patchy applications. Ensley Reigns mattes are definitely more on the powdery side. I like some of the shimmers but have come to find, I don't want to mess with overly flakey metallics that just get all over my undereye in just a few hours.
