France has been incredible, they have reopened archives, in sanctuaries, museums, libraries to reacquire lost know-how, even if some French artisans still have these skills. Rebuilding identically is a real challenge, fortunately France has other Notre-Dame like that of Paris, whose framework is still intact, to take a model. it is a work that goes beyond a man's lifetime, their work will remain in history as long as their ancestors did 800 years ago! it’s a glory, it’s a grace!

What a compliment. As a glassblower I would be overwhelmed with gratitude if a piece of my glass got into a window. You are clearly quite skilled in the old ways. Thank you for keeping the old methods around. Keep up the great work and thanks for sharing the hewing process!

Very nice. I saw the large wooden trusses already in place shortly after the fire and was curious how they were made. Thanks for this.

I am French, in France, we have kept a very large part of these crafts, stonemason, carpenter, marine carpenter, carpenter, locksmith, etc..........we have several schools or training centers, such as the Boulle school which trains a huge number of craftsmen in very rare trades such as marquetry, restorer of antique furniture, carpentry, parquetry, etc........ and the companions of duty who train young people in various crafts such as frame construction, stonemason, tile roofing, stone roofing, etc. .............. the only field that France does not have not keep, it is the pouring of lead to make the cover, pouring of lead on a bed of sand, know that we still find in England, it must be said that in France, we are staying on the copper covers, in zinc like the roofs of Paris (Haussmanian buildings), in slate, in tiles and others!! except lead!!
