Must underrated photography channel. No showing off, just facts and knowledge
I appreciate that! Thanks Jake!
Take a break Martin, we will all be here when you are ready to upload again. Thanks for the amazing content you have been putting out.
Thanks mate. However, still working on the next video. Can't help it. 😁
I just wanted to say that we all VERY VERY appriciate all the knowledge you are sharing with us! Maybe in your moments of breakdown/burnout, thinking about all the people you have helped will make it easier! Once again - Thank you Martin! You are the photo GOAT :D
Thanks mate! Yes, I reason I keep going is all the love I get from all of you guys around the world. It's really a super boost! I just realised that helping others are the greatest feeling of all.
Thank you so much Martin for sharing this video with us, we keep learning from you.
Groetjes from Belgium 👌
So nice of you
Exactly it looks simple, but when starting it is crazy to think how You came up with this at the end. Stay healthy and take care. Best wishes.
Thanks a lot!
Thanks for another great vid, Martin! - stay well, chill out and try to pace yourself .. cheers
Thanks Jay Jay!
Thank you for sharing these things with us. I love you man!
Thanks a lot!
Thank you for good video again. I know your feelings, my summer vacation starts 14.12.....
Oh my God! Crazy... thanks mate!
Love you botvidson!!!!! Take a break, and I can't wait to see what you do next.
I'm already working on the next video... 😁😁 Thanks mate!
Martin, thanks for the video, for your vision and thoughts!
Hope you're feeling better now
We're all need a rest sometimes💪
True! Thanks, I am almost 100% recovered by now.
Found your channel at 3k subs, just came back for the first time in a while, its so cool to see how your channel is growing!
Thanks mate!
Hi Bob, I hope you'll be well, I am a graphic designer and I like advertising photography, for me you are one of the best advertising photographers I've known on UA-cam. Your followers need you to take a break because health comes first and stress kills. I want you to take vacations near a lake in your country, because nature is the best to relax. Regards from Dominican Republic.
Thanks very kind. Bob? 😁
Thank you for the video! But also, take care.
Thanks Sean!
Outstanding work, thank you for sharing!
Thanks Brian!
reflecting... blocking.... very interesting !!!
Wonderful!
Love your videos and tips and advice.
Thanks so much!
You are the reason i love product photography, I got an A in my assignments for perfume shot. Thanks a lot
That is gold to my ears! Great job!
Thank you so much Martin for the education..and please have time with your family..👍
I will, thanks mate!
Wow!
😁
I really like your ideas about the photo with ocean background, it looks beautiful and I believe it will be even better on final! I am interested in seeing this setup and processing. ... Sometimes the clients and we do not think the same😁, but ultimately they pay us and we deliver what they like. Great photos indeed involve so much effort and time, communicating/ thinking/ preparing/ shooting/ post editing, and a great attention to detail- I so much wish more of my clients understand this and I've been trying to educate them, not easy 😂especially for some small clients. Good tips on the flash & mirror! Thanks for sharing! You're wonderful.
Thanks a lot! Yes I think the test shot was too ruff, I know what I have in mind for the final image but probably I need to create something more close to the final image.
Thanks Martin!! Incredible to see the amount of detail and thoroughness that goes into every shoot. I’m setting up a little photo studio for our company and your videos really inspire me to really slow down and think our shoots through. With a coffee in hand of course ❤
Big thanks!
Great video man, I've been shooting watches for over 5 years now and I know how hard it can be. You are showing exactly the amount of time and effort that goes into it. Very inspirational video.
Thanks. I think it's important to show clients the amount of work that goes into shooting watches. Not all do understand the struggle we have to create one "simple" image. Thanks mate!
Awesome video (as always!) Martin! You're exactly right, clients some time do appreciate the amount of time needed before (collecting props, client meetings, mood boarding, etc) and after (post-production, etc) a shoot! Many times they think a great image takes only a few hours to shoot and edit. Hope you are not over working yourself!! Have fun with your e-bike ;)
Thanks mate!
As always 🎯💫
:)
Tjena Botvidsson. Kul att snacka lite på mässan. Du var den enda jag kände igen😂.
Hallå Max, det var en person mer än jag kände igen :) Kul att ses!
Wowoweewa!
Tell me more!
I appreciate your videos, they're some of the most insightful breakdowns for legit higher end shoots. I hope your burn out resolves soon and you can have some peace!
I had a week off at the hospital 😁 so now I'm fit for fight again! Thanks Nick!
@@botvidsson good to hear!
Cheers!
You have given so much value to us - please make sure to take some much needed rest for yourself and your family. You can't help others if you can't help yourself.
On a side note - with your eBike, how is it for your family? Do you also buy each one of them one too? Thinking of making a switch because cars are such a pain.
Very kind words - thanks a lot!
Having a car in the central part of Stockholm is just a nightmare, cost a fortune with the tolls, gas, parking and so on. My girlfriend has a regular bike but she often take the metro/bus. My young son rides with me on my e-bike.
The problem in Stockholm right now is the weather, ICE! Today I actually crashed cuz it's so God damn slippery. Luckily I did not get hurt that bad 😁 Life....
@@botvidsson Glad to hear you are okay! I know the feeling - I am in Toronto - so the weather and congestion are the same issues. Not to mention the traffic. Thank you for the advice!
I guess we have to get winter tires (studded tires?) 😁
I love your videos! 👋👋
Very very happy to hear that! Thanks
Just wow! Big up and rest well!
Thanks man!
yeahhh !!!
100%
Another great shot. I like how you flagged the light. It's amazing how the little things can shape the light and produce different results. By the way Martin, I was wondering if you sometimes focus stack with a tilt shift lens or with the hassy adapter for maximum depth of field? Take care of yourself !
Thanks man! I just block the lower part of the soft box, very simple and effective. I also do this on my food shots.
Yes, sometimes I focus stack with the tilt/shift function, the benefit with the tilt/shift is that you don't have to stack so many photos compared with a regular lens. But the result will be the same. It's just a luxury tool to have.
No job is more important than your mental health. Get well a deserved break and spend time with family!
and solid work with this photo, incredible result. allt gott,
Tack! Yes I know but sometimes you just take on too much.
Brother I feel you on the burnout. I hope you never get to the place where you find yourself taking a 30 second nap on the hallway floor while your child is washing their hands.. rough times that are unnecessary.
I feel I'm kind of at the same spot from time to time... I feel you mate.
@botvidsson keep up with the vitamin D-3 and methylcobalamin B-12. When you feel the burnout, they help your body and mind recover.
Great video. You made a complicated shot easy to follow.. Question; Instead of using the black card to cover the watch face, could you have used effectively a polarizing filter film?
I did not try with the pol-filter, forgot. Might have worked, not 100% sure. Thanks
Thank you so much for another great video. I appreciate you discussing how long it takes for each shot. I was feeling like maybe I took too long, and this definitely helped. I'd love to know how you find paying clients as I want to start a similar business in the US.
All jobs always take longer than you think, that's my experience.
Finding clients, the million dollar question. I'm probably the wrong guy to ask cuz I never advertise of market myself and that's a bad thing I guess. I only get jobs thanks to my portfolio and instagram. 90% I turn down cuz they don't have any reasonable budget.
I am lucky cuz I have clients in the biotech/medical business. That's very I get my money, but you never see this photos in my portfolio cuz I'm not allowed to show them.
I believe that you need to have a kick ass portfolio with photos in the genre you want to shoot. The more narrow genre the better. Be the expert in one type of niche/genre. Be the go to guy! That's easier said than done but that's how I would start.
Thanks!
@@botvidsson Thank you very much for the great advice. I appreciate your insight and I will put that into practice. Keep up the great work. I know it's easy to get burnt out sometimes, but you're really helping people, and we thank you.
Very kind words and I thank you for that. Makes me want to create more stuff.
Look after yourself Mr!
Thanks Andrew!
First of all thank you very much for sharing this knowledge with us and all the background things which accompany creating the final shoot. Please take care of yourself and have a rest, we all love you ❤️.
QUESTION: How do you calculate the price for a client for a work when you are not sure what exactly you may need for building a scene. ( For example, you rent a diving staff for this shoot) Or you discuss a price after?
Thanks mate! And I love all you guys with your amazing support!
Renting diving gear is apparently very inexpensive so I just checked approx how much it will cost to rent and ask the client if it's okay to add around €100 on the budget for the props.
@@botvidsson Thank you Martin 🙂
Hi friend. My OCD is upsetting me, your C stand is set up incorrectly:) it looks like the grip heads are on the left which means under load they will un tighten, love your work Martin, keep it up.
For the video camera, sure, you're correct however the camera weighs very little and how it's done doesn't cause an issue. Take a look at the one on background left, that one should make you happy. I hope that you got more out of the video, and I'm sure everyone on set lived to see another day.
@@BrianKRoss101 lol 😂
What!! That is just a myth 😁😁 That is more for Matthew c-stands not so much Avenger in my experience.
@@botvidsson Love those little 20 inch C stands! I think there infinitely more useful than full size c stands but the price :( lol
Yes I always get upset that I did not get only the small ones 😁 BUT! I do also need the tall ones from time to time so... just wish I had more but... yes, the price. 😁
What can I say. I just spent 15 minutes tearing the studio apart trying to locate my eyeglasses only to realize I was wearing them!
Oh my God! Feels great that I'm not alone John 😁
@@botvidsson It is just like that book I bought 5 years ago on how to stop procrastinating that I still have not gotten around to reading!
haha 😂
Rest!
Thanks 😁
Ja, bränn nu inte ut dig! Det tjänar ingen på. 😅
Det är lugnt. Har lugnat ner sig nu.
thank you for the great video. Now slow down and get some time off to recharge your soul. Especially for your son's sake. He needs you in a less stressed condition. We who follow you and your clients will be able to wait a while to again benefit from your talents when you are 100%.
Charles! Thanks for the support. I feel so much better now, almost recovered 100% from my blood infection. That was actually, ironically, the thing that saved me spending 8 days in the hospital. Loads of rest, like spending over a week in bed at a hotel 😁😁😁
@botvidsson ❤☕❤
Thanks mate! Big love.
