Well that's your choice but you can't be protected from conflicts in your homeland

Spud's first mistake was allying with Sparta. I think that immediately put him on the unsympathetic side of the conflict regardless of any other factor and he was thus destined to suffer karmically throughout the war of the skill issue.

Bohemia, DM and Danubian played really bad. So bad that they shouldnt participate with big important nations in such a MP game. But the Bohemia player should look at his own big pile of F´s he accomplished with that powerhouse of a nation instead of blaming the others. He really fcked up the worst.

A good change to that rule regarding that you can't declare on players that are already in a war, just make it a continent specific rule. If a European intervenes in America, other Europeans can still declare on them. However, if a European is in war with another Europeans, other Euros cannot declare on them.
But WHY would other Europeans be blocked from declaring? It makes total sense that if you commit all your forces to a war on one front, you should either diplomatically protect your back or consider the forces you commit more carefully. This rule just begging to be exploited in every way

Spudguns alliance has an easier time and can even fight the two in seperate wars which means double the warscore.

Man, thank God I didn't continue playing PLC in the 2nd session. I was so exhausted playing a game after a long Sunday of studying, I couldn't return for more. The only fun thing I did in that game was trying to nullify Muscovy's war by taking his war goal Luhansk, and even that didn't really pan out. I got carried in the Western European war, had my diplo done for me.
I never got partitioned and I see that as an absolute win. As the Kherson 10 to 1 battle shows, I absolutely suck in this game and I had no right to not get partitioned

Defence side of rule lawyering did kinda good, taking in consideration their move does indeed looks bad. Some points were legitimate and lies that were not discovered before ruiling is made are as good as truths
I wouldn't call the GM weak-willed (well he's no Reno, but who is). I think the problem is that when you use rules that you wrote, in general you know why you wrote them and why they are the way they are and what's the spirit of the rules and so on, while if you're using someone else's rules (especially if they are complex) you lose sight of the spirit and the reasoning behind them and have to rely more on the letter of the rules, which are open to interpretation by everyone involved.

Will it still be exploited? Yes, but now the European players will have to actually fight a war to avoid another war rather than aimlessly join some war overseas that they won't have to fight or suffer any real damage from.
I find it counterproductive that they use the French pronounciation. If not everyone knows where the provinces are and how to pronounce it, just butcher it. In some cases y'all butchering it anyway so why bother disrupting good communication. For example, one time the dude that gets pissed off pronounced Namur like Nemours so no one could find that shit obviously
His Nemois pronunciation was so far removed from it, I just exaggerated the French pronunciation in frustration. We pronounce these regions a lot over our campaigns, and we all generally have a standard pronunciation of them all. I don't know how they could have been so alien to Greenfors if he's played Victoria 2 much

Hey Spudgun, just wanted to say that I love these Vic 2 videos, you probably make the most enjoyable content around the game and your in-depth explanations helps me actually understand the game and motivated me to buy it. I'm still only mediocre at single player but multiplayer seems much more fulfilling, how would one even go about getting into a vic 2 mp community?
Being involved in an alliance like that just generally doesn't seem likely to turn out well. Venice didn't really have anything to gain from it. I know it was honoring some promise or whatever, but DM and Bohemia don't seem like useful allies other than as buffer states.
Italy and Spain often ally DM, who then often allies Bohemia. It is a good move. The problem is that Greenfors is playing DM and he’s so unbelievably awful at the game.

@@JudeLind The player is what I was refering to. Being able to rely on an ally is more important than their strength on paper. If Spain had been in the alliance that would be somewhat different, but he wasn't, and now he has the opportunity to help Burgundy and Scandi eat DM.
May be i'm too much of a coward but, after this war, my objective would be to form Italy, fortify the alps and say "fuck you" to europe while i expand everywhere else. Burgundy+Scandinavia are clearly too strong now.
I think the problem with such an approach is that if you don't throw your weight around here and there and form "bonds" with other players, sooner or later the time will come when a couple powers will make plans to screw you over and nobody will feel strongly enough to help you so your fate is sealed basically. "You may not be interested in politics, but politics is interested in you" ;)

Hey Spudgun, just wanted to say that I love these Vic 2 videos, you probably make the most enjoyable content around the game and your in-depth explanations helps me actually understand the game and motivated me to buy it. I'm still only mediocre at single player but multiplayer seems much more fulfilling, how would one even go about getting into a vic 2 mp community?
Being involved in an alliance like that just generally doesn't seem likely to turn out well. Venice didn't really have anything to gain from it. I know it was honoring some promise or whatever, but DM and Bohemia don't seem like useful allies other than as buffer states.
At least DM had an brain on their heads instead of refusing to follow single orders and accept proven facts.
Italy and Spain often ally DM, who then often allies Bohemia. It is a good move. The problem is that Greenfors is playing DM and he’s so unbelievably awful at the game.

@@Palora01 I mean sure but this was so stacked in DM’s favour. Burgundy, Scandinavia and Poland vs Muscovy, Danubians, Bohemia, Dual Monarchy and Venice.
@@JudeLind The player is what I was refering to. Being able to rely on an ally is more important than their strength on paper. If Spain had been in the alliance that would be somewhat different, but he wasn't, and now he has the opportunity to help Burgundy and Scandi eat DM.
Came back to watch this episode again after Bavaria part 16. The skill issue in this actually gave me a headache.

I had a small headache and listening to the rule dispute made my headache AWFUL.
May be i'm too much of a coward but, after this war, my objective would be to form Italy, fortify the alps and say "fuck you" to europe while i expand everywhere else.
Burgundy+Scandinavia are clearly too strong now.
I think the problem with such an approach is that if you don't throw your weight around here and there and form "bonds" with other players, sooner or later the time will come when a couple powers will make plans to screw you over and nobody will feel strongly enough to help you so your fate is sealed basically.
