Buckin! A bunch of years ago my grandpa gave me a little 10-10. He wasn't able to get it started and gave it to me thinking I could get it going again some day. I thought it was just some old junker saw and it sat for probably 2 or 3 years thinking I would end up just taking it to the dump. Oddly enough, about a month or so after he passed I found your channel and started watching your videos and started to realize what I actually had sitting in the garage. Pulled that sucker out, pulled it apart, cleaned it up and got it running. Now I play with it as much as I can and its a little screamer. Thanks to you that saw lived again. Slightly random but seemed fitting for this video. Thanks Buckin!
Billy boy I broke my back absolutely devastated me like you I love hard work I felt disabled shattered disc in my back but like you I did mend and it makes you realise life is worth living cheers mate
BBR, your message brings me to tears. " I wish I would've" made that choice 35 years ago. I'm now 64, beat up physically from the job I had as a lineman. What I have now, because of my job, I try to enjoy. Time now moves faster, I try to tell my grandchildren the same, as you did, but they listen the same as I have done. Thank you for sharing this.
I’m 22 and also a lineman. You had it much harder than we do now. But, people think we have it made for the money we make but what they don’t realize is that it’s at the cost of our bodies. BBR speaks the truth when he talks about the mentality of men. We give it all we got to get to the end but is worth it when we get there..

Buckin’, I have watched your videos for years now and up until a year ago I was a mess . My head wasn’t on straight and I felt as if I was running on a hamster wheel to nowhere. I knew what I wanted to do and what I was really happy doing, but I never believed I could do it . I’ve watched your videos over and over and your messages have been the driving force for me . Nail on head again Buckin, "if you don't like it change it". I'd say be careful chasing money as that what I did in my Job, but the current situation has changed my mind dramatically. I wasn't happy but 20:30 bang on, I was earning good money but I simply just didn't want to do it any more. And I found 'Power Saws' and bought some climbing kit and I'm hooked. I'm waiting from my Tree Climbing and Saw Courses (based in UK) and I'm hunting for a new job. I'll be earning approximately %25 / %30 less money but it's so much more fun and it will make my working life so much better. Thanks again Buckin
Thank you for this video man, this is like confirmation for me what I’ve been feeling, I making major changes in my life at the moment, I want to say please don’t hesitate to post your videos they encourage more people than you realize!!
Your words always set me right in my mind. Just pulled the plug on purchasing my first skidder. Whenever I dought myself I love to watch your videos and get my mind right. Thank you for being you
Man you hit the nail on the head there Buckin. I always say the only thing I know how to do is tree work. I started when I was 22 and now I'm 41. I wouldn't trade it for anything. My dad had a hammer in his hand and he built houses and commercial buildings. I didn't want to do that. I first picked up a chainsaw is when I was 21. And got my first job with a tree service when I was 22. And now I work for myself and haven't looked back. You have words of experience and wisdom. You and August H. I love listening to both of you. I'm so glad y'all are on UA-cam. Many thanks brothers!
Glad to see you, Buckin! You're a bright spot in my day! Black and Decker owned McCulloch 1974 to 1984. I've heard it was after that the product declined.
Buckin this reminds me of when i was a boy and my great grandfather had an old homelite the one you turned the engine by the handle bar to cut the tree down and then turn the engine back the other way to cut it up that was the first saw i ever used fell in love with the woods and the sound of a saw and been working in the woods all my life it is a good life but all messed up from it but still doing it
You are so true about doing what you love. After I did my 4 years in the service after high school a buddy and I spent the summer of 87 cutting and selling firewood. We knew we weren't gonna get rich doing it. Just something to do that summer. Now I have been working at a power plant for 30 years and haven't liked most of the years but it paid good and it raised my family. So you are correct about merely existing in a job. Now my son is in his 20's and not loving the jobs he has worked at but he has a young family now to support. I keep telling him to find something he likes and not make my mistake. I like where my life went just always wondered what it would have been like to enjoy going to work. But I sure do enjoy thinking about the good times of cutting and hand splitting all that firewood that summer. I still cut and burn 12-14 face cords for our house but I have a splitter now. I'm getting old lol.
Glad I found your channel. I like the message, follow your passion. There is a path for everyone. Some find it in the woods, some find it behind a steering wheel, others behind a keyboard. Be happy, be kind, stay positive. Cheers Mate.
The first record I purchased with my own pocket money, when I was nine years old was It’s My Life by The Animals, in 1965. What you said about making your life work for you, as you have done successfully is a credit to you. I’m So Glad!...(love the live version by Cream)!! power saws have always fascinated me, and constantly watching your videos is gradually teaching me certain techniques, although at 65, it’s highly unlikely I will be scaling fir trees...only from the armchair!
Thank you buckin I’ve been running a saw since I was 8 I’m 20 now and I quit my factory job today and I’m starting my own business today working on saws I was tired of being miserable at something I don’t enjoy doing

Good morning Buckin Billy. I still have my Dad's Mac 10/10. It still runs good.. For years it's all I had to cut my firewood for 35 plus years. I still remember the day my dad got it in 1966.. For a limbing saw I used a Eager Beaver 2.0 . loved both saws. Love Mac's. Have a great day. Be safe and Kind.
Hey Buckin, you have really become an inspiration to me. I love chainsaws, it's like when your grandpa let's you drive the red tractor, and you feel so good and your saying to yourself I am driving the red tractor and it feels soooooooo exciting! Well when I fire up a power saw I get the same feeling and I just love it! So when I just watched this video about the mac's i felt your excitement about the old saws. Now here's where it gets interesting. I just happened I was looking at a local want add and there was a mac 10 10 for sale, so went and looked at it and it started on the fourth pull and it was just barking! So I gladly paid them the 100 dollars they wanted and I road home on a cloud. I realized when I got home the reason it barked so hard was there was no muffler so if you or anyone in the buckin army has a muffler for this I could use it. This is a very early saw I think, all yellow and no chain brake so if anyone has a muffler or could build a custom one for it I could use the help. Thanks Western Dave....
Mr Smith, and anyone else who is reading this, LOVE the message buddy! I have been a Paramedic for 25 years, love the job, love the people (could do without the politics, but it is what it is). That being said, last fall I decided to go get some proper training on using a power saw, and now here I am this late summer starting my own firewood service. I work on my days off, make my own hours, and am learning more and more with each cut I make. by this time next year, it should help supplement what I make being a Paramedic. You talk about loving what you do, and right now I couldn't be happier! (BTW, I turn 48 this year, so its never too late!!!) Love to all
Hey Buckin. I just picked up my first vintage saw today. It’s a 1980 homelite XL. It’s a baby saw but a little monster for 30cc with a 10 inch chain. The guy I got it off of said it will run but I couldn’t make it go even trying the fuel in the cylinder trick so I dissected the carburetor and got it to run. I need to get a carb kit for it and a new bar and to sharpen the chains(been working on figuring that out also) but the thing rips for it’s size. I was hoping it would work for a limbing saw and I think it’ll do great after I get it all fixed up. Thanks for helping to inspire me to take a chance on a classic. Before this summer I was scared of carburetors but after watching a small engine repair guys channel for a month and a half and yours for a month I tackled it and am glad I did. It’s perfect for my lineup. 30cc Homelite XL 10in, 40cc Husqvarna 435 16in, and 50cc Husqvarna Rancher 450 20in. Hope to get a tricked out/ported saw someday but super excited about the little XL for now. I couldn’t afford a new limbing saw but need one to try to help my parents by taking down a half rotten monster maple close to their house that has dropped several big limbs and is becoming an issue. Thanks again Buckin your an a Inspiration. Thinking about becoming a full time tree guy. Seems the world could use more “good ones” like yourself.
The wise words of Led Zeppelin, RAMBLE ON Buckin’! Thank you for keeping it real and RAW! I love your message and this amazing community WE have built. We are ONE and LOVE always WINS.
What a good video... I knew God would put ol Buckin in a spot to speak of him, and it finally happened. What a difference in this world Buckin is making... What a man to turn his life around and God put in the position he’s in today so he can help the rest of us. Good Job Buckin and may God watch over you and yours and continue to put you in important situations and use you to your full potential.... keep up the good work.
New subscriber from Ontario, Canada. My dad had a geared down Mac, a D44 and a Super 44, a Homelite, then he went to Huskies. We used 18 inch bars. The geared down Mac would drive itself right out of a bar pinch. Threw me down a couple times lol. The Homelite was sure lighter than the 44s, and as you say, it packed great power for its size. You have a super attitude, great videos and an awesome saw collection! 👍
Although I haven't gotten to watch a lot of your videos lately Buckin', your message is always so positive and I wish I could find more time to watch them. Love all your content and seeing these saws get used. Got a 10-10 I love the daylights out of to run, actually have to put a full wrap on it here, and another parts 10-10 saw that needs a little love and that should be a runner also. Should probably work on the old 250 and give that some attention here also. You were one of the first ones to get me into saws and definitely into the Mac's. Thank you!
Thanks Billy!! You’re amazing Brother! You’re 100% correct about the ol’ Macs being an acquired taste. I first got my hands on my grandpa’s 10-10 when I was 11 or 12 helping to clear some oak brush, with the help of my uncle, around the cabin he had. I loved the experience! Some years after, I used it again with my brother as we felled some dead trees at the same property. The sounds, the smells!! Now I own a Pro Mac 555 and a 640 Geardrive 👍🏻!
Love the video! I have never had trouble finding work but I’ve always struggled finding enjoyable work.. Your a lucky man and the happiness shows that’s why I tune in

Thank you for the right at you straight message. Sometimes we also get caught when what we are doing is not pleasing but the $ is good. The struggle is to move towards joy even if $ initially declines.
Buckin you are the one who pushed me to be the tree man i am today..im almost in tears listening and thinking about this. I was like you my dad wasnt here all the time and i grew up with my on way to live and i done bad stuff in my life but i grew out of it and grew into the man i am now. But you years ago before i even subscribed to you. You pushed me to be a tree man and never looked back now i own every piece of equipment it takes to do tree work insurance and all. Youll never know how much i think you for not so much pushing me but showing me to do what you love to do and i remember the first power saw i bought and its hanging up just like you and i love mcculloch saws also i have a lot. Im rambling im sorry. But i wanted to tell you thank you you really changed my life and my bank account by doing what i love to do. ....thank you billy.
I took a huge pay cut last dec to get away from a job of 35 years that was both awesome and horrible at the same time... Now I work for myself, I'm not making nearly as much money but I am WAY happier! You were one of the people who convinced me it was time for a change. Thank you!
You speak the truth. I went to school, came out as a CNC operator. At my first job the question came, -"do you weld?" -"Yes, self taught" i said. Got in to welding for a couple of years. Listened to my parents, back to school, became a computer tec. Feeling awful. Took a hard look at life and went in to welding 100% I've been a licensed welder on stick, tig, mig/mag in alu, steel and stainless for 20+ years and the years just flew by, a smile every day. I'm 45 now and stuck in an office for a couple of years. (My back says thank you) But i still weld and still teaches the younger guys at the company. I will never stop welding, its my passion. The money actually comes second.
I will never tire of hearing you speak so honestly and with so much passion about your life's work and what has brought you to all of us......Love you, my friend! ❤️❤️❤️💪💪💪🪓🪓🪓

I started following my heart last year. Mowing lawn full time. I have an old gravely zero turn and bought a new stihl string trimmer and off I went. Last year I turned a profit after buying an enclosed trailer also. This year I make a full "weeks" paycheck in 2 days compared to my old job.
BBR, I just found myself a Mac 1-10. Beautiful condition, im excited ! I can't wait to get it going. Thank you for introducing me to your stories and mcculloch power saws. Keep it real 👍
God bless you Buckin! I wish I could have met someone with inspiration like you 25 years ago and listened. I can retired next year at 46 and am ready to do something I love! Just afraid to make a move. But now I feel inspired. Thank you!
I realised after leaving the trees they are a source of peace ! I'm on a journey back to the tree tops , it's not easy but definitely worth the journey . Another great video Buck keep spreading the love 🤘
I thought I had alot of saws. I like the log stand good way to hold your saws. I hope your using real gas in your saws, I seems like I was always replacing fuel line that are getting brittle. If you have a problem getting real gas go to your local airport and be 100LL it will stay good longer and not kill your fuel line.
jeff i love humans and the stronger we are as individuals , the nicer we are to one another , which inturn spawns a helpful supportive community , as humans we want top love and help
Billy, you are the first person who has ever come close to my view on life. My saying goes like this, "People are in the position they are in, because they want to be there." The only exception is due to health impacts, but for the most part we all set our comfort zones in life. It's the smart ones who take the time to think about the situation and make the changes to be happy in their own way... Keep up the good work and great words! All the best from Michigan! Mark

We are ONE and LOVE always WINS.
love
Your a lucky man and the happiness shows that’s why I tune in
Really nice words Billy, I hear your message loud and clear! You’re inspiring people again ✊🏻. Thanks
You don't want to ever give up if things don't work out try something different is a quote from a successful business man in Owosso Michigan that lived to be 105 years old that I thought went along with what you had to say , Thanks Buckin

Thank you for the right at you straight message. Sometimes we also get caught when what we are doing is not pleasing but the $ is good. The struggle is to move towards joy even if $ initially declines.
I love these kind of videos, thanks for going with your heart and uploading it...
Always great listening to you. Love it, Thanks. I am enjoying life now due to my work for the last years. Glad I did what I loved to do. 👍✊
Perfect Advice 👌 Always enjoy watching your channel, Bless you And your family Buckin! Thanks again for a great video🤗
Had a period of some months when i did not follow this channel regularly and now i come back to this! Interesting! Thank you, man!
At my first job the question came, -"do you weld?"
-"Yes, self taught" i said.
Got in to welding for a couple of years.
Listened to my parents, back to school, became a computer tec.
Feeling awful.
Took a hard look at life and went in to welding 100%
I've been a licensed welder on stick, tig, mig/mag in alu, steel and stainless for 20+ years and the years just flew by, a smile every day.
I'm 45 now and stuck in an office for a couple of years. (My back says thank you)
But i still weld and still teaches the younger guys at the company.
I will never stop welding, its my passion.
The money actually comes second.
I will never tire of hearing you speak so honestly and with so much passion about your life's work and what has brought you to all of us......Love you, my friend! ❤️❤️❤️💪💪💪🪓🪓🪓

I had a 70s 710. I didn't really need that much saw, but my buddy did. I basically have it to him. It's still his go-to saw. I miss that saw.

hey Buckin', love your life message. I'm in a situation in where I think a lot about this stuff and you are a great support and inspiration to me in this. The great powersaw and treework items you make are a fine bonus for sure.

See you around Buckin.🤜🤛👍
I realised after leaving the trees they are a source of peace !
I'm on a journey back to the tree tops , it's not easy but definitely worth the journey .
Another great video Buck keep spreading the love 🤘
Thanx Buckin' for sharing- it took a back injury to get me on track and happy working for myself too.
Love ya man. Your message couldn’t be more clearly received! Thanks for everything.
jeff i love humans and the stronger we are as individuals , the nicer we are to one another , which inturn spawns a helpful supportive community , as humans we want top love and help
"You're sole searching, I'm all in, could not say it better " love the deepest thoughts in your mind ,we all learn a great deal from you , love you...
the shortest distance but the longest journey ... the head to the heart
''Do something you like to exist.'' Now that was inspirational!
Very inspiring Buckin! Thanks for the pep talk! Much love from one of the messengers of kindness!
Mark
You are one cool guy! You’re an inspiration to me and many others.
Hi from Scotland, only found this channel a couple of weeks ago and am loving it, good old school common sense in this crazy world. Sharpened my saw other day and got right into the gullet (after looking at one of your vids}, big difference went through bird cherry ( called mayday across the pond) like hot knife through butter this afternoon. I am sixty now and and only got into this game a few years ago so learning every day. 1999 Husky 254XP 18 inch bar inherited from old foreman, love it to bits. Cheers Paul
I’ve collected a few old saws since I started watching your channel. One is a Mac 10-10 ‘Lightweight Chain Saw’ right hand start. Great old saw. Really enjoyed this video
hey you
Thanks Buckin. You got a way with words. I'm glad you took the time to share your experiences.
