My new most favoritest channel!! When I was a kid in the mid-60s my uncle logged his own land and ran his own one-man sawmill. He milled railroad ties out of oak in north-central Pennsylvania. God rest his soul. He ran an old monster Mac like those you're working on there! Thanks for bringing back those memories

Dragged out my McCulloch 3216 that I've had for about 35 years, hadn't used for 25.Put in new gas lines, spark plug and air cleaner, new primer bulb, fuel filter and blew out the carb with compressor, sharpened the chain(original)all for about 6 dollars from ebay and it runs like brand new!Been using it lately, thanks Buckin for reminding me to bust it out!

New viewer. Buckin' I love your passion. I bought a McCulloch pro 10-10 forty two years ago to clear my land for a cabin. Still living in the cabin and still have my Mac. Still running it today. I haven't done a thing to the saw other than a bar a few years back and a couple of chains. Still running like new. Love my Mac. It has a big heart. Be safe my friend.

Another great one from Buckin Billy. The more I watch the more I learn and the more it helps me to remember stories my grandad told me. Cuttin wood and fallin trees on power line roads when he worked for Pennsylvania power and light. I love it Buckin and I owe you and great big thanks for your videos they help those old memories surface and give me smiles. Be kind everyone.

Man Buckin!! every time I hear you fire up one of those old McCullochs it brings a flood of memories of being with my dad out in our woods. I think he had a 300? Big heavy beast. Loud! Manual primers and oiler. Its long gone and my Dad as well. Over 26 years now, but the memories are with me forever. The simplest things like the sound of the old saws? I can't put into words what emotions it brings to me. Priceless!! Thank you for doing what you do! Sincerely, Gordy

I see you lifting that old saw, and see that it takes some effort, I can't imagine lugging that saw all day doing big tree production cutting, those old fellers were some kind of tough! I can remember the first saw that I got back into service, the feeling of OMG its going to run, can remember the great felling that accompanied the moment. I see that feeling on your face, makes a man feel good about everything. grrrreat going buckin

Almost pissed my pants laughing at the sight of Buckin praying to the chainsaw spirits and playing voodoo drums on a couple gas cans! That was hilarious. Best method ever to clean a chainsaw but I put my glasses down?
I love tinkerin’ too! Fixed two Tanaka’s, had to order a part for one
and take the others hand grip apart to reposition the spring.
So satisfying! Now to see if they will run!
Loved the pour, sluce, pour metaphor!
I like the gas can Bongo betterin’ the Drums!

Pull the carb apart and use kerosene to clean the parts. I do it all the time and it eats the gasoline and oil up and breaks it apart amazingly well.

Looking at the specs on that saw, it is a 99cc reed valve made in 1963/4. It has a 1/2 inch chain, and the power head alone weighs 27 1/2 lbs. It only says the carburettor is a McCulloch with a Primer. I bought a vintage lawn mower yesterday, that fired up using the same starting method.... Hi Hi..

Love the video, good to know that if things don't work out for you as a logger you always have drumming to fall back on. As far as your saw I'm very familiar with those carburetors, they use a huge diaphragm and it's easier to find unicorn horns and chicken teeth than one of those carb kits so if you do manage to find a source please let me know. There is a company that sells sheets of the diaphragm material and you can cut your own but looks a little tricky to rivet the metal disk back on. I have a 797 that uses the same carb along with 17 other McCulloch's. 51 total saw's and growing, trying to start a small chainsaw/logging museum in western North Carolina. Really enjoy your videos and enthusiasm
Glad to see that I'm not the only guy out there that eats sleeps and breathes chainsaws

It's usually the carb but by the struggle you had with the fuel cap, I'd bet the cap isn't venting either. There's a dozen parts inside the cap that you can pluck out and give 'em a clean. First pop the lid in the center of the cap off and go from there.

It's a McCulloch flatback. I did a stihl 090 carb swap on my 895, just have to put the McCulloch tilly low profile bottom plate on the 090, then and flip the telly lever arm and you are good to go. Throttle linkage tweaking or custom done may have to happen. I zip ties the choke open and just use a squirt bottle to fire it over as my choke. Hope that helps.

I really love carb work. And have done a ton since i was a little guy. Tearing them down and soaking them and compressed air is your best bet if it runs like heck and you can not get any adjustments out of the high or low jet or have to prime to keep it running. I have done ao many its unreal. Just be carful for orings and washer and seats ect. That is a cool saw.
