I'm a big fan of Billy Currington, and I like his version, but Dave Barnes' version is the best hands down. Dave's voice is so pure and rich and full-bodied, and the song reflects that.

i love him his songs have meaning and his voice just makes it all better he sings from the heart not just his voice he is wonderful and any one who doesent like him has no sense in music i hate music hard to say but i love him he has great songs keep it up
@jrhommes1 I totally get that Dave needs to give permission to use his songs, it's just I feel like the recognition should be more towards him, but in the real world, it doesn't quite work like that. 99% of listeners will hear the cover & think of THAT artist, & not delve into it anymore. THAT is what gets me ticked. I know I'm pretty much overreacting about this, because I'm positive it happens all the time in the business, but Dave's awesome, & I want him to get that recognition. That's all.

@AnAmericanGirl16 and go fig, all these famous artists are doing covers of HIS songs and THEY get popular for it, but hardly anyone looks into the song enough to realize that Dave has the originals. It makes me frustrated to no end. I forever thank my workplace for playing Dave's songs on the speakers instead of the covers.That's how I discovered him.....in fact, this was the first song I ever heard from him. Such a talent.

I know that it IS already a form of recognition that a famous artist wants to use his songs, but from the public's POV, when they hear that song, they associate it with the person who sings it. It's only those that decide to look into it further that realize that Dave sang them.
