I was your flight attendant on your flight to chicago! Was so cool to meet yall. I didnt want to bother so i said something at the end of the flight, but glad i could get yall there safely! love you & your dad
Should of said hi.
@@infallibleblue bro flight attendant is not a pilot :skull:
“Glad I could get you there safely” lol, were you flying the plane? Weird thing to say.
@@nathandrums0 Not like the pilots fly either. More safe to put planes in auto pilot, lay back and relax lol. Atleast the flight attendants try to make it comfortable for the passengers
@@MrBa143 but they “don’t get people their safely” as she put it lol. They know how to put a life jacket on and that’s it. If the plane was going down or there was an issue with it? Everyone’s dead.
This is literally like the movie “The Menu”. Happy to see you guys made it out alive 😂
I was just thinking the same thing
exactly what i thought as well
It’s based on alinea
great minds think alike
i was thinking the same too lol
“ I thought it was Kai vaping” 🤣
No, seriously
LOL at susar thinking it was Kai vaping
I can see how the movie The Menu wasn't too far off haha
They even went to a McDonalds afterwards to get a simple cheeseburger HAHA
My immediate thought as well when I saw that nonsense of a dessert lol.
Now I’m in absolute shock becuase I’ve watched a documentary on this actual restaurant and grants story is absolutely astonishing when you hear about it and his journey to becoming one of the best chefs now in modern cuisine 😮
Imagine undertaking this and losing your most important tool in the process. Crazy they made it.
Yeah he worked real hard on this scam
@@LightningPuppetyou wouldnt be able to think up even one of those dishes
What’s the doc?
@@CK_Fitness probably Chefs Table (Netflix) Grant Achatz
'he's a big man. you know what a big man means? his decision is made by his experience being a big man.' your dad is hilarious.
i can definitely see why this is ur favorite restaurant. i've never seen dishes served so creatively, i can only imagine what that felt like irl. thank you for sharing.
5:21 "I thought it was Kai vaping"😂😂😂😂
I admire Grant Achatz. Watching that presentation was so creative. I have watched food along with culinary technique grow for the last 3 decades and it's so exciting to see the impact that TV has played in this field of art. Simply beautiful. I can't wait to see what the next generation brings to all cultures of food and creativity.
This man such a legend he deserved it the most. I am so happyy for him. And thank you for the beautiful speech 🙏🏼 you
Wow, I Worked in the restaurant business for a good part of 8+ years of my life. Honestly that place yall went to seemed next level! Will have to convince the wife to try it one day. Thanks for taking us along there!
Three Michelin stars is by definition a next level experience. I've had some life-changing experiences at two stars.
@@croatoansoundsJesus loves you
It's a next level for sure. You definitely need to be adventurous and open minded because some of the courses can be challenging. Be prepared to spend around $800 to $1,000 or more with wine pairing for 2 people (and reservations for 2 can be challenging to get) depending on whether you are at The Kitchen Table, Gallery or The Salon. Still it's definitely a once in a lifetime event worth going to.
I was blessed enough to attend Alinea last year for my birthday and was one of my first experiences in fine dining... Your candid experience was wonderful and shared a similar menu to what I had as well. It's not for everyone, but quite assuredly worth the cost if one has the interest/time/money.
Imagine Kai vaping at a 3 star Michelin restaurant 😂😂😂
He was on his ig story lol
imagine filming
Vape = adult pacifier
@@sejtbrugernavn they had permission Dork
@@monikerone3203 obviously. But it’s still cringe
i've been reallley enjoying the content lately! great work and tell ur dad we love him in Michigan!❤❤
I really like your dad but this is the last time I will embarrass myself. I enjoy watching the two of you. Thank for always keeping it positive. This was a nice experience to watch
What an experience! Won’t expect anything less from Chef grant.
I live in Chicago and never even heard of Alinea i gotta check it out one day when i can afford it lol for anyone wondering i checked the website and that experiance cost about $300- $400 per person.
so so cool !🤩 love watching the vlogs!!
Totally a beautiful father & son relationship!
These videos are such a vibe
Chef Grant is the legend. Beat the odds and come back stronger
That is just unreal what an experience. They rang all the bells. Looked like a blast. Enjoy!!
Thanks for taking us along...and congrats on the anniversary.
love these food videos and seeing restaurants from your point of view 🙏🏼🙏🏼 it’s like i’m there lol
Ok that balloon dessert satisfies a long forgotten memory for me! When I was a young kiddo I watched that spongebob valentines day episode with the giant chocolate balloon, and I spent literal hours imagining what that would be like to eat. Absolutely insane meal, I'm super jealous!
Those McGriddle’s are awesome when you want a quick breakfast!! Bacon, egg, and cheese McGriddle is my go to breakfast sandwich at McDonalds.
I love how you explain things into such detail, thank you for sharing your experiences with us!
Always wanted to go your video has convinced me to get a reservation some time. Love seeing the bond between you both
Awesome vid like always! Enjoy Miami!! 🌴
love the content...wish these vlogs were longer!
thanks for showing that dinner! looked exquisite
" I thought it was Kye vaping", "no seriously" that's too funny 😂😂
Grant Achatz and Homeru Cantu (R.I.P.) were two of my original chef heroes. I actually had the pleasure of working nearby. I did not love the city of Chicago, but the West Loop food scene is the Texas high school football of chefs. Will always be honored to have been a part of that. Thank you.
such a cool experience, especially loved the setting change after the kitchen visit
I used to work in the area. Alinea is literally the best restaurant I've ever been to. Everything is beautiful ❤
Love watching your video s especially with your dad
That looks like a really nice experience! I was a little surprised to hear so many "ums" from the staff at the #1 restaraunt. I'm old. I enjoyed watching this video, thank you sir.
Yessir let go new vlog 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
You are very blessed… enjoy your family. In the end… they are what truly matters.
Keep up the content Jet! Always enjoy the new content whenever you can 😎
Great content as usual
Im glad you guys are moving with the sauce project
That was an epic meal. Thanks for sharing.
Alinea! Chicago represent! (In the culinary world lol). They even have art on the wall that is Motherwell-esque.... my favorite, "Elegy to the Spanish Republic."
Dope video! Crazy that you were in Milwaukee, can’t wait to see what comes from that
Your fam is so beautiful. Kai is a stud.
Your Dad is awesome. You guys both are awesome.
Dope vids bro 💯
That’s crazy. I’ve wanted to try Alinea forever! What are the odds that this video is a place I wanna try.🥰🥰
Super adventure, so cool to see.
Been to Alinea twice and I’m saving at this moment for the 3rd visit. It’s just a really great experience over there. Expensive but so worth it imo
Loved the video 👍
thank you guys for sharing wow.
Chef Grant Achatz literally blows my mind whenever I see him compose his dishes
Really fun watch!
You and your brother have the same adorable smile🥰
The highlight is just a family enjoy time with each other.
the wife and i struggle to have enough food for the week here in rural mississippi. you guys are so lucky to not have to be hungry
They earned it.... Woe is me... get a second job.
Your living the dream Jet Bent-Lee !
really enjoyed this video
yeeeeeeeey, new video 🔥🔥🔥🔥
wow this was such an amazing video thanks for sharing
Looks like an amazing experience, thank you for letting us see. What toppings did you get on your pizza afterwards?
As a person who has taken a lot of flights out of Ohare, the moving walkway with the lights is definitely my favorite part.
It’s no Applebee’s 2 for 20 but it looks pretty good, I guess
literal depiction of 'the menu'
I live in Chicago and I was all excited to go to your dad's restaurant next time I was in Toronto :)
Thank you for the tour! I’m from Missouri, akin to the cheese 😂 Grats on seeing the goat, Phil Ivey, wish you got to meet him!
Interesting dishes. What an experience.10/10
the creativity is unmatched
Low key this content is chill
I thought that for the last course everyone would be turned into human s’mores roasted alive! But the introduction to every course is just like the way they introduce the killer courses in “the menu”
Shiiiiet I look forward to you posting more than any other UA-camr fam
Thnx Jet,
Made a 3 Michelin Starred Restaurant approachable, inviting, worth the $$$ = how 😮 fun, fascinating ... food & dining can be ❤
I’m stealing all those dishes, especially the horsehair raku plate and the glass uni shell bowl. Wow!
That is all insane. I wonder how much it would cost for 2 people to eat there. Also, I couldn't stop looking at the dude's beard and long hair in the kitchen and it sorta was grossing me out!!!! Love your videos, I'm 58 and Iron Chef was my fav your show, your dad was always my favorite!!!! Not his talent and skills, but he was always treated the ingredients with the most respect. In fact, he treated his competitors with just as much respect. You are so blessed to have him for a dad!!!
another comment said it was $390 per person, if that's true, it's a complete and total rip off. $20 worth of food prepared in the smallest portions you can imagine while they put sauce on the plate like it's an art project, and you pay nearly $400 for the privilege of being ripped off. Then you have to tip on top of that and they'll consider 15% to be a cheapskate if you go to these type of restaurants. They can only exist because of vanity.
Great food adventure!
That looked amazing
I love listening to your old man talk!
thank you bro bro for you work
From my personal opinion the more expensive the restaurant the smaller the portions but more variety of foods and they make it more of a show/art. While the lesser expensive ones are about just food and initial presentation.
Also they only showed a fraction of the courses. That menu probably had at least 12-15 courses, you leave totally stuffed.
@@adamseidel9780 No man would get stuffed if it's 15 portions the size of that potato on the toothpick. Fine dining means you get almost no portions and it's all artsy with stuff spread on the plate to look fancy. I'd rather go to a steak house and get real portions, a man will get "totally stuffed" in a Steak House, A man just looses what's left of his appetite when he gets the bill and realizes how much he was charged for so little food at most fancy restaurants.
Awesome guys, love the channel.
Every other vlog. My favorite restaurant lol all different. Love the vlogs though bro!
I don't know if it's the best restaurant in the world I'm sure it's right up there but you have Paris, Sydney, Hong Kong, Rome, don't doubt that it's excellent! Was definitely fun to watch, thank you for sharing
Looks like a phenomenal, once in a lifetime, experience. Thank you for sharing your experience. Loved how the one main guy in the video basically ate everything in one bite. The waiter, hands him something and says it’s good for 2 to 3 bites and he responds, ”Not for me.” Gulp.
0:14 was perfect, I'm tbat brother. The bond your fault has together is 💯
Dad is a boss! Like a edible art show
Add to Bucket List, that looked fun
Just watching you guys eat that food I have to sit down..I’m already sitting down..and I have to sit down…
Oh my goodness, just watching this for the first time, my cousin is the sous chef there~ I hope you enjoyed ^^
That looks incredible 🥘🍲🍛
Ugh, I’m from Milwaukee. I feel bad for you. 😂. You guys should take a ride up to door county, 2hrs from Milwaukee. It’s our version of Wine country in Wisconsin. Great food as well. A few decent french restaurants, etc. Safe travels!
Great voices 😊
Your DAD is epic and has such ease and great calmness
Alinea is a bucket list place for me!
I was just at Alinea a week ago and what an experience! I'm curious if staff recognized your father or if they proceed differently knowing the caliber of his skills.
It is hard to say. At a restaurant at that level every plate has to be perfect already. Im sure the chef probably double or triple checked every plate.
@@zackstoner4523yea these kinds of places have such crazy standards for everyone. I’d guess if they did recognize him or know he was coming, they might add some dishes or customize things to make the experience unique to him. But I’m a layman so no idea if that happened, every dish just looks insane and completely alien (not a bad thing) to me anyway haha
I was the one plating the kitchen cocktail. We were aware of who they were. Standards didn’t change, but there is a slight increase in the attention to detail.
Wow congrats for you. Curious whether you were at The Salon, Kitchen Table or Gallery. I bet the bill gave you a little sticker shock at the end, though. (I know it's worth it, but seeing prices near $1,000 (with wine pairing for 2) still hits me hard.
I would actually guess they didn't alter the menu for Susur because the menus are constantly changing and are so upscale to begin with. @@croatoansounds
just watched “The Menu” before this 😂 the parallels to your meal were uncanny
I thought it was Kai vapouring.. hahaha.. Susur, you really are the best.
Wow that was an amazing Restaurant meals❤You all made it more Awsomely Amazing 💙🌹🥰😋🙏
