I have this. I love it. You can go all the way to the root. I do. The outside combs don’t get hot enough to hurt they just get warm. It’s the irons under them that get hot.
I have 3 of these combs (different brands). They are the best thing to use when doing your own press. Greatest asset, you don’t have to worry about burning yourself. There is just enough space between your skin and the combs.

About 1 year ago I bought Tymo portable hair straightening comb, The Electric Flat iron and The Blow dryer that showed LED Heat temp. When I received them, I noticed the Hair dryer box was not sealed with plastic as the other two and the box was bent or damaged on one corner. Originally I had bought the blow dryer as a gift to give to my stylist but since the box had been opened before it was shipped to me, showing it had possibly been a return. I called Tymo to return and they refused to pay for shipping it Back when I simply informed them it was used and I wanted an exchange or replacement sent. They asked well did I try to use it to see if it worked and I said Now, why would I, when I bought it as a gift. They refused to replace it and give me a return label. They also claimed they no longer use plastic wrap on the box but u see they still do in the video. They continued to email me back and fourth for 3 plus weeks. They didn't work with me. I had to keep the items when I should of returned all three, but I really wanted the portable straightening comb to stretch my hair out. Well the comb did not work properly as it kept cutting off ( buttons located on handle where u have to hold it, and took too long to charge back up. The comb had to be charged without use. So you can't plug it in to use it at the sane time. The flat iron didn't get my hair silky and I have wavy type 4c, hair which is normally very easy to straighten silky with one to two passes. Bottom line these products look beautiful, but doesn't do the job they are intended to do. As you saw in her/your video at a temperature of 410 your hair wasn't close to being straight. Because how customer service stretched out the time to pass for me to be able to return in 30 days either item, BEWARE they don't even have a customer service phone number to talk to anyone. I feel the purchase was a Big waste of Money. I didn't like the products and I've not used the products since, even though I tried them for two weeks at lease 5 times with different hair straightening serums and without. They only stretch the hair out Which I can do myself without heat because my hair isn't naturally thick. DONT GALL FOR THE HYPE. This Company is Trash. 😮
It’s really good i seen other girls with thick hair like mine and theirs turned out like this too, it can definitely get it straighter then this if you want but this is exactly how I needed it to be 🥰
Everyone thinks my hair is super thick but it's very fine and breaks off easily. My sides looked just like yours until I stopped pulling my hair too tight in braids or even slicking it up in a pony tail. I stopped sleeping with my hair in those styles. Before bed I always put in a super loose bun.

My scalp sweats so when I use heat like this before I'm even finished portions of my hair are already 'reverting' and I don't have as much hair as you so for my money, I would just find a good Professional Stylist to give me a 'Silk Press' as I believe, given their expertise, it would last longer. However, that is only IF I EVER use heat in my hair again (aside from a hair dryer).
If you guys would like for your hair to grow fast. Cut one red onion and chop up three garlic with one teaspoon of coffee add one cup of water then boil and strain. Rub into your scalp then place and a plastic wrap on your hair then let it penetrate for a while then Rinise.

When he in his teen years you can show him this vid if he ever not wanting to show affection lolol he loves you. I love that for you.

i stopped using mine. i love a regular flat iron.
I just use an electric hot comb with a comb guard to keep it off my scalp.
It does get hair straighter than this right? I just bought one and haven’t used it yet but these results are not what I wanted hopefully it works
