Billy played a high energy short, compact solo with no dynamics and with ridiculous finger work, especially the sweet lick at 3’13” Trey wrote a story with his solo.
Why? Neither act is lacking what the other offers. BMFS is honing in on his own thing which will provide even more opportunities for magic to happen. Diversity is the spice of life. I do love the cross pollination.
Billy needs to let that thing breathe. He’s technically proficient but lacks phrasing ability. In my opinion, Trey completely out-classed Billy here. I liked the Derek Trucks sit-in much better.
