I’m going to do another follow up video to this one this week about stock size LT1 ports after I pick up some gaskets to check for port clearance. I already got a lot of questions on stock LT1 ports and header options so maybe this video made more questions than answers.
I had to build a wrench just like that welded the socket on the end of the wrench to get to the plugs ... Small block Chevy in a 78 Pontiac GrandLeMans... Hooker headers... Edelbrock RPM performer heads.. 3,400 lbs ,,runs 7:11 in 1/8.. 11:22,@ 118+ mph...1/4... Car has been 10:20.@129.mph on a 125 shot...
The only longtubes that i have seen people use is part number #69490 it is 1 5/8 tubes with a 3 inch collector and can be used with all angle plug heads
I've got the Sanderson headers. 1.5 primaries and 2.5 collector. They glow bright red at cruise. I've been lookin at the same hedmans for the same reason, 3" exhaust.
Probably needs more timing or cam timing is off. When they glow at cruise it's because the combustion is happening late and unburnt fuel is igniting in the headers.
Yes sir, great all around header for just over $300. I ran them on my SBC too. They fit a wide variety of applications. The worked well on my AFR 210 heads Gen1.
I'm building my S10 Blazer with a small block in it and I just ran across some aluminum angle plug heads off of a 87 Corvette and they look brand new they're beautiful I'm waiting on my roller rockers and my new cam I already have my new double roller timing chain my dad sent me your video to help me figure out about my headers I'm worried about I had Patriot V8 swap headers currently they look really close to your headmans well anyways when I realized what video he sent me I laughed at him I said I watch this guy all the time I love your little truck but now I've realized mine's a lot closer to yours we have the same heads well mine or l98 aluminum angle plug heads off of 87 Corvette but yes I may have some questions for you in the future very near future my truck is driving currently but it has some s***** TBI heads on it and they have got to go I think I dropped a valve or something that's why I got these heads this past weekend soon as my roller rockers and my cam get here I will be tearing my heads off and boy do I hope I can get a spark plug in there behind my headers
i have a 98 s-15 with a 383 that has the race headers on it and they suck.a total nightmare to put on and then your tires hit on both side if you turn more than 1/4 of the way in either direction.for what they cost they suck.they would probably be ok on a full out race chassis but not on stock frame.
I’m surprise headman doesn’t make a hustler for the S 10 that has the conversion plate or adapter plate that bolts to the head then you bought your header to it?
OMG WHAT A NIGHTMARE FOR HEADERS IN THIS TRUCK,,,, How do you pass tech at the track with the trap doors and the hole in the floorboard for the trans bolt?
@@jamesjent6542 It's in the description. If you're running the stock size exhaust port on the heads you may be able to get away with the long tubes in 1 and 5/8. I will do some more checking today and confirm.

Yes! More videos! Cooling system video!
Thanks for your advice 😊
Great video dude. I just went through this too. I had to use the Sanderson 3/4 tubes and had to mod too.
i grew up using a plug socket and a rench
Cooling system video from A to Z would be nice.

Yes, show use your fab on the cooling system. thanks bro

And they say to use oil filter relocation for all longtubes on s10s
Yep I did miss that one good catch.
Yep, those are the headers I run on my Gen 1 355/TH400 swap pickup and they work great.
Carl B what motor mounts do you use?
@@carsonshort5752 TD 4689 adapter plate with Moroso solids (62630 and 62515). Numbers off the top of my head, so be sure to double check!
Your very good at explaining everything......

I run those same headers, but on gen1 sbc! They work well in my application!

do the cooling system next

I like idea of the access hole for the headers and transmission.
One day I will clean up the holes and make some cover's... Maybe 😏
Screw it!!! Just drive it!!!!!!

Looks and sounds sweet! Do you have an 1/8th or 1/4 mile time?

Yea it's odd the LS has a lot of headers in longtubes but the Gen1/Gen2 are all fender. They could at least make a step header.

It passes tech with hope and a prayer. 🙏
Did you have issues using these headers with the angle plug heads?
Can i use any sbc headers on an lt1 for instance one in a 92 corvette?
What valve covers are those?
What's the part number for the headers your running
I'm putting a LT1 GEN2 in my s10 blazer
