Cut pool noodles the exact length of the inside of the shelves and move it forward so that when you place the books on the shelf they stay with the spine on the front edge. Hope that makes sense. If not, just reply and I’ll send you a pic of my shelves.
Maybe you could try putting tension rods behind your books on your bookshelves. This might help stop the books being pushed all the way back.
Use a 1x2 and double sided sticky tape to the back of the shelf. It will act as a stopper for the books. Then you can push the books back still and protect back of the shelf. ❤
I am with you on working out in morning! I work out 3 days a week then only yoga on 2 days in morning!!

Your classroom looks incredible!!We don’t have ac in our schools so I feel your pain with the swearing lol but I also live in Maine not in Arizona! I can only imagine. Mrs Katie in Elementary is my fav - she’s also such a sweet human, which we love (clearly you are too💞)
You can glue a 1 X 2 piece of wood or a stick on the shelf behind the books to keep them from pushing all the way to the backing. Sort of like a stopper.
You are so lucky you get to have a fridge! Admin banned fridges in my building a few years ago.
That was like my old school. I haven’t had a fridge in my room in a very long time. I saw other teachers bringing theirs in and the principal said it was OK. So I decided to splurge this year.

I store my Kleenex boxes behind my books. Then it will not push back.

Unfortunately, no, it is not air-conditioned. I have to work out first thing in the morning otherwise it gets too hot to do a workout in there. I have two fans in there when I’m working out.
I like your flexible seating! When you're teaching the whole class or using the screen for your slides do you just have the students turn and face you?
Whenever I’m giving whole group instruction, they’re on the carpet. I send them to flexible seating when they do independent work.

Yes, our entire district was able to order flexible seating and most teachers in our school have completely switched over (if they want to).
Your school in AZ doesn't have AC?? That's gotta be illegal. Are you in the mountains?
I am in norther Arizona but it was only out for the summer. They are working on it.

What was the glue in the tub with the sponge??
I put hand sanitizer in there. It helps to keep mold from forming in your glue sponges. You still do have to keep an eye on them, though just in case mold starts forming. That way you can throw it away immediately. However, only had one glue sponge actually grow mold in the 10 years I’ve been making them.
