- This Caddy came in low on power with the engine light on. We confirmed the code for EGR circuit fault and then tested the command of the EGR using our Snapon Verus. Proving what required replacement 100%.

£385 quoted for an Audi A1!!!!!! for a genuine part🙈.Thanks for showing the electrical schematic-helps a lot,great video.Subbed.
Very Professional, keep up good work.
Vw quoted me over $2k to do this job. Parts alone over $800...$700 just for egr assembly.
Had another quote for $1800 from European vehicle specialist... Still uses genuine vw parts... But think yas earn ya money on these. I've done over 200k on mine so I'm guessing it's reached its end of life. I normally do all my own servicing... Oil, all filters, brakes etc but on this job.... Screw that!
Good video mate! Cheers from Perth.
thank you sir, cool videos
Very cool, mate!
You make it look so easy haha
It always looks easy in an edited video hahah!
Thorough diagnosis . The customer must be in shock 😲 with the cost of that valve ! I remember when EGR's were a simple diaphragm controlled by a ported vacuum switch . OUCH 😳 !
Haha Bill, you are right. Reminiscing on the older quality long lasting parts. Not like these days!
well done
I have changed these coolers since 2009, and of all the hundreds of cars with P0403 or P046C code i can remember ONE car with a faulty wiring instead of faulty EGR/N18. That car had a loose wire in the connector that goes into the N18.
Thank you
I’ve had this code come on my Vw B7 passat 2013 rLine tdi . I’m in the uk 🇬🇧, now I have all power and I drive me car in 3rd and 4th gear to keep the revs up and I do periodically drive it like I stole it. Would I need to Jack up my car to listen to see if it’s making that noise and if it is what else could I look at
Nice
Just a quick question to anyone
Can this error cause a car to cut out? Say when slowing down when say…coming down to a low gear for example?
Where are you based?
Great video. I wonder how many times in a vehicle's life time would these need to be replaced? Seems a ridiculous expense to incur every few years. I have a Skoda Octavia with a CAYC engine on 349,000km. I only have it a few months and I don't know it's history. I reckon I might have this to look forward to in my near future!
Thanks for watching Danyo, I hope all will be good with the Skoda you picked up!
hi,
Great Video many thanks , so the code p04030 is related to the motor only not to the circuit board
Thank you for great video. I have 1.6 TDI CAYC Seat Toledo 2013 and i changed EGR recently. The original part was Wahler and i bought Pierburg that work only 8 months.
Now I clean the original EGR and i need to know if any electronic damage can be and how to test if it is working before installing on the car.
Can I have please details about the voltage and how to check if the EGR if is working?
Hi! What cause the Pierburg EGR not work anymore? What are the symptoms?
Sometimes I wonder if an aftermarket part may be better than the manufacturer's own part. Cheers mate
Who even knows these days haha
Hello!
So what can i understand from this video is if the electric circuit is fully workig then i just should clean the valve not replace it straight way.
I'm having a vw cc 2013 and i keep having the light in dash with the same code. I always delete the error and after few weeks comes back. What shoud I do?
change your EGR part. Nothing else to do sadly.
That a big EGR unit
Great video. I'm having trouble with the same 1.6 engine but it's not putting up egr codes but maf range performance. The egr sounds like it's trying to work but repeatedly clicking. ??
Where are you located, how can I help?
I just did a OIL LEVEL SENSOR delete by accident. I ripped the 3 wires clean out the sensor by driving over a stick. Wow
Awesome job and video very informative as always =). Question though do you think the actuator had failed due to carbon build up inside causing extra resistance on the motor itself? Or did the valve move freely and it had just failed? Cheers
Personally I just think it failed because it failed. Nothing out of the ordinary with most electrical parts these days. No the valve was definitely moving freely. Pretty ugly set up!
What app do you use ???
Which app are you meaning Adil?
@@romanosautomotive I use geeked beenche
Jedi.
What unit did you use was it OEM or VW :) cheers.
Genuine VW, sorry for the late reply.
@@romanosautomotive no worries! I got my Fabia 1.6 TDI fixed then ending up part exing it, just broke even. Such an expensive part / job.
Yes I know and sometimes these VAG brands can be so expensive to repair. Hopefully you didn't buy another Skoda ;)
@@romanosautomotive haha i may have :O lol finally got myself a Octy VRS. 🤞
Ford focus 1.6l 2007 po403
Why didn't you clean intercooler and EGR system??? Every one can just buy new part, but fixing old one, only some can do...
The actuator was fucked and you can't buy it seperate, he had to get the whole system just to replace the acuator
Replace cost around 600 pounds!
Well done . Diesel unfortunately has had its day.
Not wrong Ian. Never ends!
Don’t buy Newcastle stick with the old ones so much more reliable and robust
VW laughing all the way to the bank
Haha you bet!!
ITS CALLED AN ECU
Thanks for the tip 😏
