Everytime you upload, I try my best to watch every video. 4 years ago I got into HVAC, and some of the first videos I came across were yours. I always try my best to share your UA-cam channel with who ever tells me they want to get into this business. Just watching this video and coming across very similar situations on service calls where you save the day by just changing out the disconnect fuse, and the customer being close to paying thousands of dollars for a new system. Thank you sir, I feel like I’ve made it this far in HVAC from just watching a lot of your troubleshooting videos.

Having integrity is what made my business. 1yr into out on my own, still struggling, I ran into a guy that was next door to a job, fixed him up quick, transformer burned out. It straight up took 20min, so I wasn’t even gonna charge because the house was kinda raggedy and I thought he was broke. He tells me his HVAC guy just left and said he had to replace it, nothing he could do. We chat for a bit and find out dude has 130 properties, flips, and manages rentals 600+ in the area.. old guy out and new guy in, he keeps my docket full going on 6yrs now. Also Hooked me up with several realtors that always need work.
He never once questioned my diagnosis or tried to talk my price down, and pays on time. Integrity first people

Had a similar one couple weeks ago. Company told customer that the compressor failed and wanted them to buy a 18k Bosch. I showed up, fuses good, compressor wasn’t grounded and cap reading 0. Replaced cap and compressor fired right up. Scary how these companies be getting away with stuff like that. But companies like that keep us in business! Much respect from down here in AZ bro!! 🙌🏻☀️

We have a very popular HVAC company here in our town that was recently bought out. Now they are trying to rip off people or they don't have a clue what they are doing. I've fixed several here recently that they have condemned. The last one they claimed the entire wiring in the ahu was totally burnt up and priced a swap out. I changed the blower relay and it works fine now.

She almost got got….great job of being thorough in your diagnosis in this unit. To me this is one of your best vids because of your thought process going over everything going behind someone. I will be using this in my appliance repair business for sure.

Having residential techs working on light commercial units is usually a problem. If you are a business hire a commercial/industrial HVAC company for maintenance and service. Everyone says they know AC but they only know residential maintenance basics.

I run my own residential appliance repair business but used to do commercial restaurant and bar equipment. In the 5 years I worked for that company, we never had to replace an entire condensing unit. I replaced a lot of compressors and fan motors, belts, contactors, capacitors etc, but I can't think of any reason to replace the whole condensing unit unless it's really, really old or had a lot of damage to the condenser coils. As others said, I wish you had shown the customer reaction.
I've heard lots of horror stories from my residential customers about this same type of thing where the HVAC company claims they need to replace the whole unit??? I thought about doing residential air conditioning but I'm tired of working outside in the heat and humidity. I'd make a killing stealing customers from these thieves.

You induced 524v on each leg of the compressor and 550v comes back on that same leg.
So the copper windings on each leg steps up the voltage 26 volts?

@@WWHVAC I’m not sure I do either, lol. When you did the installation integrity test your meter showed 524v was inserted on the compressor leg that you were testing and 550v was measured, gaining 26v additional volts. I was curious where the 26v came from.

    • @WWHVAC

there can be slight variations in the voltage output versus the actual voltage measured. The device might be compensating for resistance and other factors, leading to a slightly higher voltage reading. there can be slight variations in the voltage output versus the actual voltage measured.
