How to make ROADS from COASTERS | Diorama display bases for cars

- I made some roads from cork! These are perfect for displaying Gaslands vehicles, Warhammer 40k models, or other tabletop gaming miniatures. I used a width of 57mm per lane which I interpreted to be fit for 1/64 scale. If you make them for another scale you will need to adjust this number. Good luck and have fun!

this is, hands down, by far, the overall best method to make roads that i've ever seen. I will absolutely be using this method to make road tiles
Thank you! I hope you can get some cool tiles made!
The hole in that square coaster would have been a great spot for a manhole cover. Great vid!
Thank you! Yeah, i thought about adding a detail or debris of some kind but I figured I would just leave it for the video at simple roads versatility in the future, like if I need a larger lower build to sit flat.
I enjoyed this one quite a lot. I found it quite relaxing seeing the roads slowly get made.
I’ve been trying to make exactly this. Thanks!
I'm glad it's useful 👍
That is a great idea
Thanks Kevin! They are so easy to make and look great on camera too 👍
So cool
Thank you!
Omg that intro😂😂😂 awesome
🤣🤣😁👍
looking at my models sitting on my bare shelves I think these kind of builds are important to underline the beauty of all the main objects. nice job.
Thank you! Give it a go, they don't take long to make 😁👍
Wow, some great ideas!
Thank you! I hope others try it and see how fun and easy it is!
I love this and will definitely be using these techniques myself! You came up on my Instagram which is how I found you 💪🏻
Awesome! Thank you for being here :)
very nice
Thanks!
Love these! Quick, cheap, dirty all the best attributes. I have a few of these so I'll have to try it out myself. Thanks for sharing the process.
Thanks! I can't wait to see what you make 😁👍
Very creative. Good work!
Thank you!
sweet diorama ideas a perfect Platform for it awesome job.m y friend
Thank you, Neil!
Glad I found this video! Great ideas for displaying hot wheels for glamor shots!
Nice! That's what I use them for 👍
I need to make another batch come to think of it 🤔
Awesome job Ben they all turned out amazing. I'm definitely going to build some of them. Keep the great videos coming brother.
Thanks, buddy! Post them up when you try it!
@@BPCustomCreations definitely will!
IKEA has great low cost cork trivets and coasters.
I've seen some there recently 👍
Nice work and great job explaining and demonstrating.
Thank you!
They look so good BP! I'll give it a go but I know it won't be as good!
Thank you! I cant wait to see what you make 😎👍
@@BPCustomCreations looks like it'll be a short while yet but when I do it'll look mint! Can't wait to use your tips and tricks
Great tutorial and you know I'm stealing this idea! Lol!
Thanks! Enjoy making some roads 😁👍
"round one - the round one" lol, flawless!
Thank you 😁👍
Ok. Now I’m going to be looking for coasters at Diaso. Thanks for the video!
I can't wait to see the result!
Damnit Ben! You make it look easy (much like Danny) but then you mention making sure the lines are parallel and I know that’s where I’ll crash and burn 🤣. Seriously, they look great and I need to do something to put on the turntable when the cars want to run away - this would be perfect. I can’t wait to give it a try!
I'm sure you'll make something great and I can't wait to see!! I'll let you in on a little secret: I eyeballed the other ones and only measured the first HAHA
Man your work blows me away every time keep up the great stuff!
Thank you, based sir!
Your videos just keep getting more and more polished. Well done! Also you know I love the builds as much as the word play haha.
Thanks Doug! I'll keep them coming 😁👍
Hey, Ben! What a great and simple idea! (What were you doing walking around in the Dollar Store?) Would you believe, I just planned out my winter build schedule and decided on some Gaslands scout cars and my first diorama for a Saturday in early January. I just picked up some different sizes of picture frames and cork sheets and had a similar idea. I was able to find jars of graded and coloured sand during my summer vacation shopping, just like you use in this video. Cool to see you do it here and I'll definitely be implementing some of your techniques, starting small and moving up to war rig dimensions. Remember, imitation is the sincerest form of flattery! 🍁😉
Andrew, I can't wait to see more gaslands vehicles from you! As for the dollar store.... You don't want to know how much time and money my wife and I spend there haha. I don't want to know either! I like to wander around in stores and just look for interesting shapes and anything that jumps out at me to be useful for the hobby.
Would be neat to see some arctic warfare themed Gaslands cars!
Funny I'm making roads as this video pops up 😎
Dat Asphalt, amazing intro
...you can set a drink on it!
So realistic. Great work bro
Thanks! I keep using them for photos of cars too! They have been very useful 😁👍
I get the cork sheet too, it's often sold as floor insulation so you could probably go halfers with a mate & get a whole whackload of the stuff & split the cost.
Got a video coming out on the 24th of October, 'Scratch Build: Street Bases', much the same as your vid but I add drains using cheap & easily accessible materials.
Might be worth a look at if you're interested, man.
Great vid
I will now be using the term “whackload” LOL
I'll keep an eye out for it!
Love watching your videos. Great stuff as always, sir.
Thank you! I'm glad you enjoy them!
@@BPCustomCreations very much. The humor is right up my alley and what you create is obviously fantastic.
They came out awesome, I thought you were gonna break out in song and dance in the beginning 😂
🤔I don't think anyone needs that 🤣
@@BPCustomCreations 😂😂😂
Absolutely cool!!!!
But - where is baking soda?
An idea - a pothole from a styrofoam cup.
:)
Baking soda!! I completely forgot somehow! I guess it turns out I don't need it in everything. Although the truck I am building now has baking soda on it 😂🤣
ᴩᴏʟɪ ᴍᴀɴ 🔥
package looks like it came from a star wars tie-fighter
Nope 😁 good guess though
Đồng hành cùng nhau nhé
you could have filled the hole on the square coaster with some hot glue or putty stuff and made it look like a pothole or something...
You're right! My thought was actually to put some metal debris over it like some bits of a wreck but I decided to leave it as is and augment things as needed when using it. I haven't decided what will sit on it yet so didn't want to lock anything in place
That is a blister pack frommmmmm a weirdly shaped dinosaur alarm clock you found in a bin from a good will
What did I win
Nice guess but not correct 😁 it's from a toy. I'll give you that hint
What's a mod podge? 😳
Mod Podge is a decoupage material to clear coat and protect things like paper and plastics but many people use it to seal crafting projects.
