- To many, this famous designer is known for his work on the AP Royal Oak and Patek Philippe Nautilus. However, many other very well known and truly unique watch designs from Omega, IWC, Universal Geneve, Bulgari and even Cartier can be traced back to this designer.

The Godfather of serious watch design..he was also a very good artist with paints so this obviously helped each other out you see watch design in his paintings quite clearly.t.y for sharing, was very well put together.cheers.
Great work, my only negative comment is that watch at 1:45 into the video has a refinished dial, what's "SWISST"?
Another excellent presentation. Very well researched. Thank you.
This was another of your best videos. Thanks.
Gentra's genius lay in his ability to create design that was for its time "other world" and later hold its aesthetic shape and appeal, to be in fact timeless and iconic. This is what I think of his Royal Oak, Nautilus and IWC Ingenieur. His reworking of the Cartier Pasha is actually astonishing. The degree of freshness and letting of light with which he reinvigorated the piece is such a wonder as to take one''s breath. Yet his design of the Golden Ellipse I find rather ho-hum.
Funnily enough his own brand of watches were a bit weird and outlandish. He did his best work when he was constrained to work for others it seems, complete artistic freedom did not work for him. Would you agree?
Great video. My favourite piece was the Polar Router followed by the IWC.
Fantastic. I own a Pascha 5711 and an offshore Bumble Bee. 5711 by far my fav. Got to admit didn't know the Cartier Pascha is a Genta design. Superb presentation. Keep them coming.
Great video, as always. I love the Longines in your opening titles with the soft strap. Very classy. The PoleRouter looks nice too.
Thanks very much. Again an excellent and informative video.
Love the Longines in the intro. As for the Gentas, I love the Constellations. The rest I can appreciate but aren't for me. But I enjoyed the video a lot. One of the weird thing about the WIS world is that only a few designers are really known, and even those are mostly known for only one or two things. Videos like these help expand the knowledge base.
Man I love your work, keep it going
I like the Patek Philippe Nautilus the best because I bought one for myself and I will move on the collect those design by Gerald Genta.
I own the universal polerouter date. Love it
The modern Bulgari Bulgari 41mm with the leather strap is one of the most comfortable watches I've ever tried. The curved case with the integrated strap wears like a dream.
The Universal Polerouter is a very nice watch. I own a black dial one with original strap and buckle. Picked it up for a very decent price. Up until now I didn't know that it's a Genta design. Thanks.
Gérald Genta I used to admire his watches around 80’ but could not afford I very fond of his creativity and
His special octagon I am still looking at his watches mechanical and where I could get it
Nice work mate.👏👏🖖
Love the videos mate, well researched and well said. I do have some suggestions, try to condense the videos, I believe that it is more interesting that way. Second, consider adding some sort of facecam so you do indeed have video and isn't only a compilation of images. Hope you find this useful and hope for your success!
❤Gerald Genta
The IWC is design by Jorge Hysek not mr.Genta.
Should put the omega seamaster polaris on here
very very good.
"Hello watch enthusiasts" :)
I like your videos very very much. :-)
The MOST beautiful watch (for me anyways) was the Vacheron Constantin 222- so sexy it makes women smile!!!
watch geeks bang on about the royal oak and the nautilus all the time and whilst in no way claiming to be a style or design guru i'm afraid I just don't get it. the bulgari is even worse, trashy and loud. on a positive note I would say the polerouter is very nice. this is quite clearly far more conservative than the other 3 I've mentioned so maybe i'm just boring???
No. Everyone has their own taste. If the Royal Oak and Nautilus don't appeal to you; they just don't appeal. There's many a person that gushes over this design or other that I find meh. I just move on and find something I DO like.
What brand is Katyauh?? Sound like a tool
sorry but it's not bulgàri, but bùlgari!!!
Gerald Genta was very much a one hit wonder. The RO was an remarkable concept, that is timeless. His greatest, and indeed only hit. The rest, including the Nautilus were all quite pedestrian designs. The Constellation pie pan, being slightly less pedestrian than the others.
