Still valid content here. I've been trading stocks for about 4 years, and crypto for several years. A trading buddy recommended we get into trading Forex, and to use a demo account first. I've been trading it every day for about two months. Several times I got into a few negative trades which led me to make new demo accounts - essentially starting over. I was quite happy to realize those pitfalls the easy way, rather than losing my hard earned cash. So yes, even experienced stock or crypto traders will want to use a demo Forex account. I'm only just beginning to consider a live account. And how to know if you're ready for a live Forex account? For me, it will be one month to two months of trading in the green with a single continuous demo.
Demo trade for 30 days? I have demo traded for almost 6 months. Every person will have a different approach, but the problem with only demo trading for a month is that most people will buy almost anything without a plan. And bring that habit on when they start to trade with real money.

And I’m feeling super emotional and treating it like it’s real money lol I’m constantly watching different pairs and trying to understand the candles better or make it make sense. But, After your 6months in demo do you think I’d need to take that much time? I’m not in a rush I just want to understand it without a doubt before I open a live a account.
To anyone who may feel daunted by the $1,000 $50 is enough with a 500:1 leverage account I did $50 every Sunday I would make about $200-$400 and blow it but I switched strategies and made $1937 and withdrew. You learn better live good luck trading !

Unfortunately yes, most people will really start with live and trade 1 contract on $1000,- account. I did the same.
