I am hoping to begin more illustrative journaling. I have been dabbling with watercolors ( very abstractly) but I want to learn to draw creatively more than just stick figures. 😅
Hi Christa! With the Terra Volatile, try using it without the extra suit! That’s what I do and it’s less overwhelming. The rest of it is pretty straight RWS.
Some great decks in there! However, can someone explain this obsession with pairing decks?! When did this become a thing? Why do you need to pair decks? I don’t understand how a tarot deck with 78 cards plus reversals is not enough to get a full reading from?!
Some people just like to pair their tarot with an oracle, it's not that you can't get a full reading, and many of us definitely do use just tarot all the time, but a pairing is nice too. Oracles can make for a strong focal point in a reading, and for some people that really helps
I was wondering about the pairing thing also. It's definitely become popular within tarot tube crowd .. even with two tarot decks at the same time not just an Oracle and a tarot.
I always use multiple decks in my readings (tarot and oracle). I am a layered reader. I also use charms in my readings. We all have different reading styles. I find, for me, adding more layers provides more detail and insight. 💙
for me it's not necessarily always about needing to add to a reading, part of the fun often for me is seeing how two decks relate to each other or not and also finding aesthetic patterns between the imagery! I also am a big oracle fan as I think having a main theme to center the tarot around is helpful when it comes to reading for myself. Interestingly, if I'm reading for someone else I find I tend to just go with one tarot!
With a large collection many decks are neglected. I've been super burned out this year as well. I devoted a lot of time and energy to the election. And then the results were so disappointing. I am still trying to recover from that.
COMPLETELY get you on this- consuming much from the news lately feels important but also so hard. Something I've decided to try with my decks is hugely editing them down for the moment and storing a good chunk of them that don't feel particularly interesting to me at the moment. It already feels helpful to look at a selection of decks that feel exciting to me right now!
I pair Messages from the Spirits of Nature Oracle and Thistledown with Smoke, Ash & Embers. Two decks I neglected in 2024 were the Ritual Tarot and the Telezma Tarot, I love both of these decks and collage art is one of my favorite tarot styles. I think for my brain, they were more complex then I wanted to tackel in 2024. Now that my life is simplified, I hope to use them in 2025.
OOOO yes ritual tarot was totally neglected by me this year as well! I have her new oracle coming in hopefully soon from kickstarter and will be curios if that sparks me to use the tarot again!
So does Dreams of Gaia have a seperate guide book? Where did you get it from? This was my first deck and I freaking loooooovvvvveeee it! The full size book would be amazing!
The full size book I mean is the one that comes with the original deck! The pocket version I have has a guidebook that is basically a cut-down version of the original
I think you lack maturity, most of the decks you like are for young people. The Terra Volatile is a magnificent and extraordinary deck, but you mentally is not motivated to learn or really dive into the decks that are not "cute" according to your age. In time you will be surprised how much your taste and views of the decks you ignore will be very different and more open to serious deck. Also you think too much and put levels on decks example: winter, deck, or your mood or how the color affects you. Those decks are the ones that will teach you the most. I really enjoy watching your channel. Really great!!! ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ Oh don't get rid of anything, you will see thing differently in the future. I promise 🤗💕🤲💐
I have Smoke, Ash & Embers and it’s gorgeous, but I only used it a couple times, partly because I don’t have a pair 😅
The anima mundi tarot feels like a deck depicted at night. It feels like it would be a good deck for a New Moon reading

Just let it be dragons... Smoke Ash and Embers is fabulous all by herself... Dragon.

@@elementsoftarot such a good point!! I always tend to pull those extra suit cards when I use it!

@@RootsAndWavesme too. Sometimes two tarot and two oracle. That's my max tho.

Have used the tarot volatile for past life readings. The geometric patterns inspire time travel - like looking back through a portal...
that is so neat!!
