I have a little collection of Artist guitars. The AU$300 to AU$400 ish electrics are such good value for money that I bought two of their high end acoustics. These would have to be the best bang for buck available. These are great as they are, and perfect for modding. Their swamp ash Tele weighs an absolute ton, but just blows me away everytime I pick it up.
Best bang for your buck guitar out there, quality second to none and sounds, absolutely sensational. Oh, and those screws, check out an original, duh...
Blimey o'Reilly! I've just checked their website and their prices are astonishing considering the materials and you even get a case! Looks like great quality :-)
Hi Gary, not bad at all. More expensive than a Harley Benton but closer to Gibson spec, to be fair. Only thing is they are nigh on impossible to get, even here.
Very interestingly, their hard cases are great value, too. I've been looking for an Explorer case and they get them to your door for £65. This company's well worth watching. Great review, thanks :-)
Sounds great - those P90's are really nice. Super playing too - I didn't realise that you can get these in the UK, just noticed their website when checking out this video. Nice looking and sounding bit of kit.
Can you still get this model. I've been looking on the website and everything is sold out.. Or looking for something similar definitely a gold top with P 90s..
@@anthonyvaccari4607 You might have a bit of a wait. Covid isn't doing international trade any favours. If you have money to burn on postage: ua-cam.com/video/U_9F3WKotYw/v-deo.html
Sweet!!! Have one of these on order & for the money looks the goods. Have 1 LP6 modern stealth which I am Ivery impressed with so can't wait for this to arrive soon. Good review tks:)
Harley Benton SC450GT P90 has the body of basswood, not mahogany, and lacks the push-pull pots, and no locking tuners, plus the shipping cost (I have one Fusion-II that I improved with Artist Bullbuckers pups.). It's a real cheapo.
Picked one up as well, ordered in September, arrived January 6. Mine has the pick guard bolt scar too, and the pick guard sits proud because of it, but a quick grind down fixed it. I've re-wired to 50's wiring, it opens the sound a bit, but thinking I might throw in a pair of Martin A Smith's, a pickup winder in Perth, P90s, because like you, the stacked Chinese P90s aren't really doing it for me, their OK, but just that OK.
@@650thunderbird Not hard to do, it's just moving where the cap is on the tone. I went all out and replaced the caps with Orange Drops I had kicking around, also thinking about some CTS 550K pots to replace the cheap ones
@@0riole11 More food for thought. I guess it's better to see what can be done with what you have, than running out and spending big bucks on boutique pickups. I might have a think about rewiring. Thanks for your input :)
I just got one of these. Build quality excellent. Finish is very good. Am i happy with it? P90’s seem a little quiet but there good. Tone is good. Im not sure about the fret board. Feels very hard under my fingers. But to be fair Im swapping between a fender custom shop strat and the artist. It was set up well but i did have a little intonation adjustment needed. Stay’s in tune. Ok the Fender is better and it should be but in all honesty Its a great guitar for a crazy price. Cases are very good as well.
Cheers mate! 48mm at the edge. A little thinner than the old LP59s, bigger than 1 3/4. 2 inches at the dip in the horn. Depends where you measure it :)
Guys Ive got one on order. Ive been thinking about cancelling. Ive never bought a cheapie and I’m now thinking its a mistake. Can someone please give me confidence to buy the thing.
I’ve got the Artist LP59, great guitar even if twice the price! As good as guitars costing 3 times the price! Waiting for the Goldtop to become available in the UK!
I’ve got the Artist LP60 ProLine which is only about 3/4s the price of this and it’s a fantastic guitar, not just for the price but fantastic full stop. I haven’t needed to adjust anything on mine, except tuning of course which is pretty good and stays in tune well. I really can’t say enough good things about it! I’m already eyeing up my next Artist guitar, it’s hard though as there’s at least 5 more I want.
Glenn... kneel before me, as i wave my outstretched hand above your head... i grant thee confidence. Now rise, and go forth, with confidence abounding. You're welcome 😜😂🤣

So, will you pull the trigger? One thing I didn't mention was the weight, just shy of 4kg, the Goldilocks zone for me.

Very good video Johno. What is the body thickness? Is it the 2 in (50mm) or the 1 3/4 in variety

Is this the same dimensions as a Gibson? I wonder how thick the body is? Nice video.
Approx 2-3mm thinner than my 2013 LP Traditional.
