I think the reason why the DLC is included on the game card is that the ‘Middle East and Southeast Asia’ system region (region code MSE) does not officially get access to most Nintendo online services, including Nintendo eShop. (Edit: I know this because I live in Singapore, which is covered by that system region)

This means that even if Nintendo ships the game to North America South America Latin America and Europe, the game will likely have wave 6 without an update required, even if Nintendo can't afford to update the box art, which is arguably more difficult than Nintendo updating the cart version, updating the box, causes taxes on plastic, paper, and out of bank costs for plastic case production and distribution. I can't say the same for all games published/made by Intellegent Systems and Game Freak, or 3rd Party titles. Mario gets that treatment so that kids can play immediately out of the box. Other games, especially if it's M rated material, or has a file size larger than 32 GB will not likely get the same treatment.
Revisions should be standard! Because updates will be lost when services shutdown 😢 .. wasted time and money 💰 and basically getting ripped off in a way .. just gone forever! But also means you hafta rebuy the game again..😢
Digital content like this hasn't ever been prone to becoming lost media, since it gets downloaded to your system and you can hack it and dump the files at any time. It doesn't require any remote files to function.
@@shadesoftime I'm pretty sure the original XBOX has some lost media DLC, since not many games had DLC back than and not many people downloaded it (I myself actually didn't know XBOX had DLC content until last year). It's probably still out there sitting on someones console, but not anybody who's actually realised that it hasn't been preserved and has willingly hacked the console just to copy it.
It really depends. Updates that add new content, like in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, and Minecraft should have their own cartridge revisions, but Updates that are just to remove glitches shouldn't, like in the case for Zelda Tears of the Kingdom.
@@Gowther1999 Right, because the revisions would be too abundant and financially nonviable to continuously create if they made one after ever minor update that fixes some bugs. If the game was buggy at launch though, as so many are, than they should at least make a single revision with those bug fix updates when they choose to stop updating their game.
Wow it is complety great to know that Nintendo are re-releasing their games with the DLC included inside the cartridge and no download required but sad to see that they are cheap and lazy to update the boxart, lol!. This reminds the remasters of the Spyro Trilogy on the PS4 version, Activision did the same thing, the first release only had the first game on the disc and the rest you needed to download but one year later they made a revision and included everything (games and updates) on the disc BUT they didn't change the boxart and used the same original one. And the only way to know if you have the newer version is by checking the disc if says the "Activision copyright 2019" and also a paper sheet ad for Crash Team Racing: Nitro Fueled that come in the box.
It’s funny that you mention this because I had to go out of my way to find this reprinted disc for Spyro. But it’s true. The case was not updated but the disc was. Exact same concept!
One more thing you could've done is showing that in the "Storage" section of the System Settings there are no updates or DLCs installed, to really drive the point home! =D
You’re right. I should have shown that. But I forgot to do so since I was so excited about the cart itself being on hand. At least I did show that there was nothing to archive, version 3.0.1 on cart, and no patches available. That in itself should be sufficient. But yes, the storage thing would have helped even more.
I'm glad I bought the DLC card when it released then, but I still wish the "complete" cart released in the US so that there's a chance of recovery in case I ever lose the DLC.
I just started to wonder, when I looked at Switch game cases (saying available in Singapore), and this video. Is the MSE version the same as the NTSC version? (Or at least are they interchangeable?)
Nintendo sometimes uses USA carts for MDE or UAE games. In this case they didn’t and the cart itself says MSE. But in other cases like Bayo 3 or ARMS, it uses a USA cart even tho the case says UAE or MDE
Do you have to delete the game from your switch before you insert the south east Asian copy in order for all the dlc to appear or were you just deleting yours for an example?

Unfortunately, you won’t know until you have the cart on hand and can look at the back of the cart and see that 002. With that said, four admins of Nintendo revised have purchased and all have gotten it. And two of our followers have also purchased and received. Two other admins are still waiting and now several followers have pulled the trigger. Guess we will see what they all get.

I did delete the game data. My save was transferred over. That’s why I have a bunch of 3 stars. I’m not going to delete my save and have to start all over. And the dlc and game data was all deleted. The only thing that wasn’t is my save. So what is your point exactly?
We are all on the same boat here. I personally scour eBay and Mercari daily to find revisions and reprints. And doing so for the community. The info is out there for anyone to use. It’s up to you to build a community of people to help each other locate these carts.

Scarlet / Violet + DLc have already been reprinted. There is 003 revisions and 004 that have both DLCs on cart. I own 003 myself and it has version 3.0.0 and I have access to both DLCs. 004s basically just added version 3.0.1 which gets rid of a duplication glitch. Both were reprinted in Japan only. As far as we know, we haven’t found them outside of Japan
No not necessarily. If you received a previous revision, such as a 001, it would only have the first DLC. It would have to be 003 or 004 for you to have both DLCs on cart. And it’s never guaranteed when you purchase something that it will be the newest print

Save seems to transfer over. So I had the 004 cart before. (Regular MK8 without the DLC) and I played waves 1-4 digitally and all my progress is still there with this one. So it should all transfer
I have the earlier MSE cartridge that only has Waves 1-5, and my save transferred over fine without issues since it's recognized as the same game as the US version. There are some games that are recognized as separate games if they're different regions (like Mega Man X Legacy Collection 2 US Digital vs. Japanese Physical), but those are usually due to odd content differences in the base versions (in X LC2's case, X6's intro video has weird licensing issues that make it different in the USA version). Since MK8's MSE version is just adding content instead of removing/altering licensing related content, saves easily transfer over without issues.
Can you not see the cartridge revision numbers on the back of the case as you can with North American versions of Switch games? Or do you have to open the game and look at the cartridge for Japanese or MDE physical versions?

The switch doesn’t tell us what revision since Nintendo made separate copies with the standard game normally Nintendo didn’t really make a copy with the dlc download code till after the dlc was complete after wave 6 came out so.

It is absolutely complete on cart. I made cuts so that the video wouldn’t be so long. Believe what you want to believe but I know for a fact that it’s complete and this is the best version of the game available.

You paste a cut in the video and do not show if all the DLC are there.... THE WAVE 6 DLC IS MISSING. It is not complete on the cartridge. Next time don't cut the video. When you put that cartridge in it needs a small small update to be able to download the wave 6.

You are a funny individual who clearly does not know how the Nintendo Switch works. He clearly deleted the game before inserting the new revised cartridge, which deletes all DLC attached to the game off the console. No Editing, and no photoshop either. Try deleting one of your games and then put the regular cartridge in. You'll see that all your DLC and latest patches will be gone, and you will need to re-download them with your earlier print game. Stop making accusations when you don't even know how anything works.

News: Nintendo Soup now confirms that when you order the game from them, it will have revision 002 on the cartridge.
They have updated the website to reflect that the new batch they received has wave1-6 on the case.

You can't tell which revision it is by looking at the back of the case, regardless of region.
As stated in previous comment, back of the case does not give you no such info. Always back of the cart is what we have to look at

The thing is that on the back cover of the game it says dlc 1-5... and in total there are 6... That's why it said...
It is absolutely complete on cart. I made cuts so that the video wouldn’t be so long.

@@DAN_TITANthe entire point of making this video is because wave 6 is there. He even pointed out how the artwork (just like the description on Nintendo soup) say it’s 1-5 but the cart is 1-6.
You paste a cut in the video and do not show if all the DLC are there.... THE WAVE 6 DLC IS MISSING. It is not complete on the cartridge.
Next time don't cut the video. When you put that cartridge in it needs a small small update to be able to download the wave 6.

Nintendo revised doesn’t put out false info. We verify everything before we mislead the public.
Do note that only DLCs wave 1-5 are included in the cart. Wave 6 is not included. In this video wave 6 was seen cause he already bought all the DLCs.

You are a funny individual who clearly does not know how the Nintendo Switch works.
He clearly deleted the game before inserting the new revised cartridge, which deletes all DLC attached to the game off the console.
No Editing, and no photoshop either.
Try deleting one of your games and then put the regular cartridge in.
You'll see that all your DLC and latest patches will be gone, and you will need to re-download them with your earlier print game.
Stop making accusations when you don't even know how anything works.
