I've actually one of the last revision of this engine. Planning on doing a big build on it soon. I've got forged rods and pistons, hybrid turbo, 2.5"dp, new IC and some piping. They're great engines with just a few fundamental flaws, depending on what year it is.. the later the greater. Look up lucifer666 guide on the Seat Cupra forum for more info on them.
@@HarrodsGarage I'm planning on 200kw at wheels. Seeing what the companies in Greece are capable of doing with these engines, I don't think that's a far stretch by the imagination. I need to have the engine built first, and then I have lined up my tuner to set up thebnew turbo and hardware to suit.
@@HarrodsGarage best of all, it's going into a Jetta. So it'll be a fairly inconspicuous family car. It'll still have great fuel economy, but it'll be able to perform some brisk and safe overtakes.
@@jnick6 water-cooled VW under the Jetta forums has a lot of info. I started a thread up there and have begun the build this week. There are also several threads ln other sites such as Lucifer666's guide to tuning the 1.4tsi in a seat cupra.
