- Geraldo is the newest hero to BTD6, and his mystical shop is full of overpowered items that make most runs a piece of cake. Either with with loads of money using the action figure, or utilize the numerous buffs that are at his disposal.

Don't forget that the cape let's you squeeze Super Monkeys into a space that normally only small tower can fit into AND ive seen that if the dart monkey has ptraining or pmentoring, the resulting super monkey keeps the buffs. It's insane.

the top path village buffs unfortunately don't persist if you reload a save or lose connection in co-op and have to rejoin, hopefully if it keeping those buffs is intentional that they fix that given the game still knows it has the cape, as someone with pretty garbage internet

If they also keep the free upgrades then thats genuinely unfair. You could get extremely high dps camo lead detection before round 80. If it isn’t chimps then you can probably get it at 60 with the action figure

One thing you didn't mention about the worn Cape buff I found out when playing is that you can get them buffed with top path monkey village meaning a sun avatar with primary training and since you are placing darts originally you can probably fit more t3 super monkeys in a smaller area

some things I've discovered with this new hero:
when the dart monkey is buffed by Primary Mentoring village and you convert it to a super monkey, these buffs remain on him
the hot sauce buff inherits the tower's properties, so if you have a tower that has a camo upgrade (edit: NOT A NNJA for some reason), now the genie can also see camo, and since he can pop leads, you basically have a camo-lead popper for 600$ if you use a 002 dart monkey
the pickle slow and the alch speed buff cancel each other out, so it's a +1 free dmg on alch buffed towers
just to let you know how OP he can be

@@somenameidk5278 ive never played btd5, like most btd6 players, so i had no idea about that feature within the game balloons tower defense five. however that name no longer applies to the tier 3 in bloons td 6
For simple nerfs to geraldo that could nerf him a little:
1. Level up slower
2. Decrease the main lightning attack damage and Pierce
Yessir, I honestly though he wouldn't attack without items (like the bunny)
3. increase cost
A cost increase for some of his wares would be good, cuz 540 for a frickin S-Mael is just downright insane

And make it So he only restocks 3 items per wave, of anything So More RNG
The most indepth hero by far and i love it, would love to see more heroes (or even towers) like him. Honestly, its a shame that he is gonna be nerfed to the ground like Sauda, I so hope that NK just increases the base cost of everything and lets the rest be, cause ngl, Geraldo with his current power level is so fun to use

Honestly, with his imense abilitys, im surprised he actually attacks himself. I expected a passive hero like ben.
Honestly! I bet Geraldo and free dart monkey can duo into mid 20s if you really wanted to be efficient, and that gives you time to get the Quincy statue thing
Edit: I have tried it on hard mode (granted it's on logs but whatever) and you can solo with dart monkey and Geraldo for long enough to get the action figure around round 13, probably closer to 15 on impoppable. I can't say for sure that it's viable on harder maps but it could be good if you're struggling on the easier maps for some reason.

If you start with just Geraldo and a free dart, you can get the Quincy figure on round 9 or 10 (don't remember which).
What's crazy is that 2tc is already possible with a 0-0-0 mortar or a alch which is crazy

Fun Fact: Worn Hero's Cape is disabled for Primary Only and Fertilizer and Rare Quincy Action Figure are disabled for CHIMPS and Deflation.

That Quincy action figure is hard to get but once you do you automatically win so long as you can survive the early to mid game

Just found out this usefull mechanic:
When you have Geraldo's turrets, and you use his camo potion on Geraldo himself, the turrets will detect camo too
remember how people did 1tc with sauda on release? apparently someone did geraldo and a 000 alchemist 2tc,if he doesnt get as nerfed as sauda did i will be very suprised,definitely the most unique hero,but also very difficult to balance good luck nk!
The difference here is that Geraldo allows you to constantly buy more defenses rather than relying on his own power. He's still op but nowhere near sauda was

He's actually extremely easy to balance since every single item has it's own independent price and purchase cap. You can simply tweak the price and purchase cap for each item individually and independently from all other items
Honestly, the main difference between the 2 is simply skill requirement.
Sauda was... basically just set and win. Yeah, technically, it was a bit more than that, but...
Meanwhile Geraldo is massive micro, more-so than ANY other tower or hero in the game.
Being the hardest to use but strongest hero isn't necessarily a bad thing that needs to be nerfed.
The "demon bunny" is likely a reference to Monty Python and the Holy Grail's "Vorpal Bunny", a rabbit that kills humans and darts with blinding speed, functionally identical to the merged bunny with the exception of attacking rubber instead of human throats. The Vorpal Bunny is also a commonly referenced, reused, and spoofed entity.
If you buy camo village and Geraldo is in range, all the crossbows will have camo detection, but the crossbows bought after the village wont. This also applies to MIB. Thanks to this I managed to discover that MIB lets tower pop everything but It doesn't let you target camo bloons, you need the camo upgrade for that, not only MIB

One thing i found out by accident: put the pickle jar on Geraldo himself and the boost will be applied to all his turrets aswell!
Basically every new hero on release has been overpowered and nerfed. But with Geraldo it's not just any single thing. The nerf might come in various different ways. But how does the restocking of the shop work exactly?
I've noticed it's about every 5~7 rounds he gets one of each item back (please correct me if I'm wrong, I've only used him a little)

@@Sarahsqueak one is a bundle of functional code that may or may not have a pile of DRM with it, may or may not have unique identifiers with it, and is not intended most of the time to be unique from any other of its type. Additionally, _if_ that one has identifiers, they are typically stored in a central database accessed by normal internet protocols with none of the 'proofing' shenanigans.
The other is a hash that may or may not be used to access a link that may or may not contain the relevant item, is advertised as unregulated, unique, and not based off a central database, and is contains no other function 99% of the time.
Honestly I wasn't even sure he'd be able to attack, thought it would have been like a Benjamin just buying more and more security for his shop as he levels up. Woulda been nice to see him get as decked out as a primary expertise Monkey village by the end

Geraldo would go well with the 0/2/5 sniper as it'd buff the shrapnel shots with that sharpening stone
Snipers can't be buffed by sharpening stone. I tried to buff my 2-4-0 Sniper and couldin't.
@@Rayan-West Top path isn't sharp damage. 025 is (since that update a while back) and can be sharpened. And it gains a massive increase in damage from it.

Sharpening stone cannot be applied on Snipers, since shrapnel doesn't technically count as part of the sniper's attack
This is false, sharpening stone can be applied to x-2-x snipers, if you dont have shrap or you go to x->3-x you lose the ability the sharpen

I would nerf the the figure due to by having it cap at only $50000 and value dropping over time back down to $800 and raise overtime so it is overpowered pass mid game

@@2FadeMusic The issue is the figure is that if you get it before round 15, you'll get more use out of geraldo. The main use for ben I see is ranked time where cash asap and pure farm effenency early game matters.
A terrifying note: as somebody who has geraldo, and I'm not sure if this applies with other boosts, but if you apply the jar of pickles directly on geraldo all of his bought turrets and genie bottles get this effect

oh yeah, one thing: i think the favored trades bugs out the quincy action figure. i tested it in a game, and the sell value by round 100 was around 186,000

I love watching your breakdowns, you do all of the research beforehand to explain exactly how everything works! There's nothing wrong with the channels that try to just figure it out live, but I like often I just wanna see how it all works.
Something I think people are going to realize soon in Boss events is the combo of the rejuvination potion and Monkey-nomics.
Also it just occurred to me, in addition to other positions people mentioned, the worn-cape can allow for a Super Monkey on the barrel on spillway.
This has to be my favorite hero of all time so far, he's go so much thought put into him. There are just so many options it's insane. I use a lot of different heros, but this has to be the best with how complex he is, people are sure to not find all the setups within at keast a month.
I thing ive realised while playing geraldo is that if you use the jar of pickles on geraldo all of his placeable "towers" gets the same buff, but also when used on the engineer both the jar of pickles and sharpening stone (so long as the sentries shoot nails) also apply to his sentries
Some nerfs I think could balance him out are
1 more expensive cost, similar to ben
2 attack slower
3 level up like pat or make top 3 levels slower
4 blade traps more expensive
5 rejuvenation potion decreases cooldowns by 50% tops
Such a cool video and such a cool hero! Thank you for explaining his levels in detail. This is the most fun hero ever because it includes a lot of interaction throughout the game by items.I wish his dart machines were able to get buffed by alchemist but they are not.
Im not sure if Ben is better in Boss events, having a degree 100 Paragon seams very useful
The issue is with elites getting a cash boost at the start with Ben can allow up to 2 additional 3-2-0 banana plants which is op for first boss tier allowing tier 5s to already be set up and less stress making money

Jar of Pickle and Invisibity Potion can be applied to Geraldo and it'll affect ALL of his towers !
So you can get "full" camo detection for 10 rounds with just 215$

If you use top path village, the dart you upgrade with the Cape gets the top path village buffs
If I were Ninja Kiwi when nerfing Geraldo,
-Lower shooty turrets pierce to 5-7
-Keep Nails the same lol
-Creepy Idol should last longer but cost more
-Pickles should either cost more or slow your speed down more
-Quincy action figure should gain value slower
-Camo potion is good and balanced
-Glue should cost a little more or take less Bloons
-Sharpening stone should cost a little more
-Cape should cost a little more as well
-Blade trap should be slightly weaker and cost a little more
-Jerry’s Fire should cost a decent chunk more
-Banana Buff is Cool and Balanced
-Bunny should either cost more, need more bunnies, or do less damage
-Rejuvenation Potion is balanced cause you need to spend a lot to make it good
-Genie should cost more or do less damage in return for lasting longer
-Paragon totem is also cool and balanced
He's great to use, but I think it would be cool if he setup an actual shop as he levelled up (for appearance). Also it would be cool if you could buy sub-turrets like the engineer's sentries and the aircraft carrier's mini-aces if you had them on the map, because I've always wanted to be able to try the sub towers on their own.
While doing the new boss event I found this very powerful glitch with Geraldo. If you buy a 5-0-0 village and put a dart monkey next to it and then use the worn hero’s cape, the supper monkey will still have the primary village buff causing it to be really op.
One thing I just noticed that when using the Hero's Cape with Monkey Names your Dart Monkey gets the name you gave to the Super
I know most people won't know what I'm talking about, but Geraldo reminds me of Ling from Arknights. She can basically trivialize 90% of the game by soloing most stages with a kit that's similar to Geraldo's. Here's hoping our moustache boi won't be nerfed into oblivion in the future.

Fun fact, if you place a dart monkey in range of a primary training/mentoring village and then use geraldo's cape to turn the dart into a super monkey, the super monkey will still have the buffs from the village.
2 things to add.
Using the pickle jar/camo upgrade on Geraldo affects all his shooty turrets.
Also, you can sell that genie bottle if you time it right (no warning afaik), but if you sell it just before it expires, you get most of your money back!

Omg getting the level 100 paragon is one of the achievos that's actually hard to get for me. Most of my friends dont play that much so having people to do this with was very challenging.

I was testing the update last night, and I found a bug with the cape that makes dart monkeys into super monkeys. If you have a 3xx/4xx/5xx village near the dart monkey then turn it into a super monkey, it keeps the buffs from top path village (even after selling the village)
I tested it out but it goes away after a little while
BTW, If you use the pickles or invis potion on Geraldo, the effects also get applied to the turrets and totems.
Don't know if this is a bug, but if a primary village is already effecting a dart monkey, and you change it to a super monkey, it will keep that primary buff, but if you add it after it won't be buffed by it.
If you use the jar of pickles on Geraldo it gives that buff to all of the towers he places like the crossbows, Quincy figurine, and also the rabbit
I found this myself. So basically you can get a Quincy action figure by round 4. You have to have the level 3 instant place mk though. You save up for roughly 1.1k and then buy Geraldo and quickly buy the Quincy action figure. Hope this helped.

Keep in mind that the paragon totems restock at one totem per round, and you would need 60 totems to bring a paragon from level 76 to level 100 (54 for the dart monkey). So if you got a level 20 Geraldo at round 1, you would not be able to bring all the available towers to max level until round 234 at a minimum. This is incredibly helpful, but no you won't be able to spam 100 level paragons once they're all added.
Also the bloonchipper in the scrap yard
You could sell Geraldo, buy him back and max his level to buy more. Only really doable once your making tons of money tho

Geraldo giving paragon power is a game changer. Also buying his action figure is possible by wave 9-10 without buying anything and using a free dart and Geraldo to defend. This enables your late game cash to be insane. Also infinite super monkeys and the idol is op early game.
Fun fact! If you put the pickle on Geraldo it will apply to his shooters! Unless it’s just a visual glitch or something I dunno
honestly i've heard about something with new heroes in BTD6, and this is the reason why i think i'd call it the "Geraldo Effect"
the thing i'm talking about is as follows:
NK adds a new hero into the game and makes the new hero broken so everybody uses it
it's slowly nerfed over time until another hero is added
You can give Geraldo the jar if pickles and it’ll buff all of his stuff. It basically lets you buff his crossbow turret army for a very cheap price

If you give geraldo the jar of pickles then all the shooty turrets that you placed get the buff it gives. And same for the camo potion. I learned this when exprimenting with geraldo in sandbox. Geraldo is definitly my fav hero and i wil use him a lot.
You can use Rejuvenating Potion to Farm also. Like, Reset the CD of Druids, Snipers, X5X Banana Farm.
Fun fact: the botlle of fire was actually inspired by Bloons adventure time by dungeon Finn on his battle moon
Not sure if anyone mentioned it, but the potion to get your lives and cooldowns back won't give you lives past your original amount. So if you started with 200 lives, you won't get more than that with the potion.
But given each use resets every single ability cooldown you have, I think it's not much of an issue.
Getting 3 of the crossbow towers and you'll feel like having a crossbow monkey. With a bit more investment in his shop and you can deal with camo and lead. Basically you can use him to solo the entire early game. Then sell the crossbow towers, and start your build.
Geraldo it's a game changer, and anyone who was used to use Benjamin like me (because it's a good option for the early farming) should try Gerry's items to farm like this (in order of Gerry's levels):
Buy Geraldo when you have enough money to get Quincy's NFT on the same round
Use fertilizer on your biggest top path banana farm (not usable on banks and marketplaces) (also you can overclock it)
Rejuv potion to reset cooldowns of x4x and x5x heli, sniper, druid, and x5x banana farm and bucaneer
Use level 20 invisibilty potion on overclocked Villages to sacrifice more farms
Considering how many CHIMPS strats start with dart monkeys, how many of them stay unlevelled, and the insane power of sun avatars, Geraldo sounds like he can open some very interesting strats.
You should mention that popping the Jar of Pickles down on Geraldo himself buffs all the shooty towers you have placed so far. So, a HUGE dps beast with just a few of those down.
Fun fact: Geraldo can easily solo rounds 1-90, only problem is the lead bloons on 28 but if you sell the action figure that round you can get gerrys hot sauce
I'm officially subscribing to this great BTD channel! I just got into the game when my GF introduced it to me and I for one is crazy about TD games. I played the Kingdom Rush Saga but this one is totally different and I really find the videos really useful for the game!

I just realized the new Scrapyard map has a balloon chipper in the scrap yard. Perhaps an Easter egg or middle finger from Ninja Kiwi saying we are not getting balloon chipper.
His best synergy imo is savatar. Not only can you get the super earlier, but it goes well with jar of pickles and of course shoes are good with savatar. Feels like a better obyn rn

I think I injured myself from facepalming as every bloons6 youtuber has done this little mistake of not showcasing the bunnies merged, I applaud not just you but the whole community. For all I know they turn into the bunny cannon/mortar from terraria with first permenantly active
Geraldo was totally worth the wait as He is 100% my favorite hero as he just wants to help you and not scam you unlike Minecraft villagers
My thing about Geraldo is that, he doesn’t feel like a btd6 hero. He feels more like a modded hero. I don’t know how to put it, but his ability just doesn’t seem like something that would in bloons normally. However it is probably just that we haven’t gotten a new hero since I started playing (October).
Though maybe if I try him out a bit he’ll be pretty cool. You also have to respect the effort put into it.
Adora sacrifice is now also buffing mini sun avatar btw. So i think geraldo and adora is tied while leaving brickel behind in term of freeplay
by far the most unique hero ever released, he has so much to him with his shop and on top of that is also very strong, NK really outdid themselves with Geraldo, im so excited to see the next paragon and hopefully a new tower altogether too!
Did you all know that you can apply sharpening stone to any non 2-0-0spike factory
So with the better sharpening stone you can make a 0-2-5 slightly better
if u use the jar of pickels on geraldo the pickel effect will also apply to all shooty turrets
Geraldo's buff is op for engineer and sun temple if the main tower receive the buff all theirs deployed towers inherit the buffs. So you can buff the sun temple and all the mini sun avatar receive it also, the engineer if you get sentry champion you can't give the turrets sharpening stone but if given to the engineer the turrets have the sharpening stone buff and the rabbits range is semi-global 40 damage and becomes 42 if you give geraldo the pickle jar it have buff but its not affected by alchemist buff.
Geraldo is pretty powerful, but I would say its compensated with the need to really micromanage him to get maximum value. That kind of ties in with his role as a shopkeeper. Want to get an exponentially growing bank? Sacrifice your defense (up to round 10 on hard) as well as your early game farming for it. Want OP farms? Make sure you're checking his shop for the fertilizer restocks. Miss a totem and let it double up? Whoops, that's one extra round you have to wait to get that lvl 100 paragon.
I wouldn't mind the EXP nerf, but honestly Geraldo has opened up and made many builds more accessible to casual players like myself. He makes me more engaged in the game than I used to be - it was all plop down early game, plop down flagship/PoD/Sun God, plop down permaspike and win. Now, he makes me consider different routes each game - let's do Solver, TBO, WLP, Archmage this game and that. I would rather keep him the way he is.
