POV: your at school and your interview is in 1 hour & 5 minutes 💀
POV you are a new hire at Starbucks and your training starts in less then 24 hours. It’s 12am and your frantically scouring youtube about Starbucks and watching day in the life as a starbs employee. You’re nervous as all get out and you start making up random scenarios in your mind of screwing things up and messing up peoples drinks and dismantling the Starbucks system designed and fabricated for maximum efficiency. On top of impending fears of throwing off their groove, you scour the depths of your closet to find a solid dark tone shirt(such a simple request until the time comes and you actually need one). You finally find a navy shirt balled up in you dresser that hasn’t seen the late of day in several months. You watch this video and you are a little less nervous but still a solid 8 on the nervous scale. You tell yourself its ok to be nervous and to not be nervous of being nervous on the first day if ya know what I mean. And you know you are making this a huge deal and being so irrational.
UPDATE: I quit after a week. Not my jam.

I’m a Starbucks trainer. Don’t be nervous or think your fellow partners are expecting you to remember all the information from training! We all know it takes time to memorize all the recipes and methods to Starbucks baristas madness! Good luck to all of you in your training.

@@vishavbawa4141 When I first started I felt like I would never amount to the other experienced baristas. But in a none conceded way I know I’m now a dependable person In all positions. I promise you will have that moment in a few months and look back and realize there was nothing to be so worried about. At It’s core Starbucks Is truly a trade job. It takes time to learn the in's and out’s. I know it can be hard to start something and struggle with the fact you “don’t know what you’re doing”. Some things just take time which is a really cool thing actually. If you think about It, If you came in knowing exactly how to do everything right off the bat it would be so boring. You will have much more pride within yourself knowing you started from no experience and became the Barista you will become. Just enjoy the experience everyone at your job has gone through the exact same thing. You got this, do not doubt yourself. I believe in you!

Edit: yo, 2 months in and its amazing. It's so nice, everyone there is so cool, I'm finally feeling okay again. 10/10, if you can work here, do it.
@Chrystian Vigil yo! Still hired, learing new things every day. Legit one of the best places I've worked so far! So awesome, such kind workers, and I'm known by customers as "the nice autistic kid with the autism button." So worth it, I'm so happy. Can't reccomend starbucks enough.
@Chrystian yo! I'm a barista, plan on staying one too. Being a shift seems stressful, and I don't have the time to fully commit to shift while also going to school and helping care for children. But barista is my title, and it's a really great position!

I just got hired and I start training either on the 9th or 23rd not set yet. I’m so scared but so excited I love the environment. My boss is so nice and the people there are so nice.

You get at least 5 free drinks when you are scheduled to work. When we are not scheduled we get 30% off retail and food and beverages as well. Well at least at my store!

Hey! I’ve been working at Dunkin’ for almost a year, and I’ve finally had enough of management, and I applied to the Starbucks up the street after being asked by one of the employees!
Gurl frss afternoons especially at the mall are the most chill well late afternoons and nighttime mainly.

I'm currently 2 weeks in training at a Starbucks kiosk in my grocery store, and am honestly overwhelmed and stressed.
Not only do I need to get the (basic) drinks down a pat AND work faster like you'd mentioned employees will request of you, but on top of that I have to be able to prep/maintain/setup/do CAP for the kiosk... And one day very soon on my own.
And I feel like they just keep throwing one new thing to remember after another when I still haven't even gotten the basics down confidently, let alone the register.
And what's more this particular kiosk is constantly having some sort of malfunction due to the equipment not being taken care of.
I honestly feel like it would take me about 6+ months to get anywhere near my coworkers' level of confidence (which tbh they're all really sweet and considerably patient with me during my training), but it makes me feel mentally drained at the thought that all of this needs to be done in a month by myself.
Binge watching these vids bc I start training soon 😩.

I am well into my training now but I can't seem to remember how to make drinks other than refreshers and Frappuccino's. It didn't bother me much before but on my last shift I felt myself getting frustrated at myself. My partners are awesome and I can ask them anything without them making me feel like an idiot, but it gets overwhelming when it's a rush. I'm put on the cold bar since I'm more comfortable with those drinks.
So they have different bars they put you on ?
They only thing that’s really difficult for me is learning the register

Hi! I am currently on my 3rd week training at starbucks in the philippines. I struggle a lot, I don't feel like I belong with my partners in the store i am in. They are trying to train and teach me but they really pressure me to memorize and be fast already in my 2nd week. I feel like I dont have a support. I feel like quitting already.

I don’t really understand the process of getting hired. sorry if this is confusing but thank you!!!

Hey! So it takes a little bit after your background check comes back. I would give it a few days to a week for them to get you on the schedule to begin training! Totally normal!

I got called on Thursday to send in a bg check to start training next week and I haven’t received a call or email 😓 I called the store and the manager wasn’t in so one of the baristas said they’d let them know to call me since apparently they just got the bg checks back or something. Hopefully everything will be okay :)

@@9rik681 so I ended up getting an email after I called in the next day and two days after that I went in for orientation, everything went great! I only had 4 days of training though because it was at a new store and I’m still struggling on hot bar out of all but it’s really nice! Everyone is so nice and they actually mean it when they say they will HELP you and make sure you don’t mess up :) I really enjoy it so far, I just need to hurry up and get these hot bar drinks memorized 😭

Today was my very first interview in starbucks... interview was good.. I Don't have work authorization card that's why they said they are hiring me but now they can't give me the official permission for the work. When my authorization card is come let them know. What does it mean??

Do you think someone that's worked at Texas Roadhouse as a server could get the job? I applied but don't know if they'll hire me. But I know serving at Texas Roadhouse is much more fast paced and difficult. I can't lift at the moment so looking for a temporary or part time job until I can go back to Roadhouse.

@@CarlosLopez-wy8pt it was great my trainer, manager, and other partners are super nice and caring I never knew there was so many ways to grow in their company and the beginning of training isn't hard just a lot of computer modules I start the hands on stuff this week the hardest part will probably be the drinks I work for an actual location instead of a grocery store or mall so it gets busy in the morning but nothing I'm not use to I work in south carolina so all of ours just unionized so instead of the $12 an hour we make we'll be making $15 they really are a great company highly recommend you give it a try

Why on earth are you making such a big deal about something so incredibly minor? It literally doesn't matter if she pronounces espresso as expresso, it doesn't change anything. Even if you wanted to correct her, you can do so without being condescending and insulting.
