I know this show wasn't SUPER popular, but does anyone remember _Bear and the Big Blue House?_
YES YES YES YES YES. :D
Yep
TheMightyPancake yup
Why isn't it on the list
Yes!
RIP Stefan Karl and Mr Rogers
Two great men.
Make that three Sponge Bob creator Stephen Hillenburg passed away last month
Also put Teen Titans and PowerPuff Girls on the list.

Mr. Rogers was my moral compass. I still I get teased for always saying "Mr. Rogers said that...." when I was younger.
Who cares that they teased you for having me Rogers as your moral compass he should always be one for many people including myself
We didn't deserve the sweetheart person that was Mr. Rogers.
they only teased you because they don't know who Mr.Rogers really is and I'm glad you made him your moral compass those kids just don't know what there talking about
@@heatherlandes2362 Yes we did.
I've been teased too for liking "kids stuff". Heck, I still can be. Don't let it get to you. The saying is act your age, not change the pieces that make you who you are, in order to appear more of your age.
Where as WatchMojo craps out videos about any list in any order they feel is best, phantomstrider creates lists that you can tell are well thought out and have passion put into them that reflect his actual opinion.
OMG IKR
Joseph Watts yeah !
He had actually seen these or not in some cases which he wholeheartedly admits but takes the general consensus and not regurgitate scripts written by someone else.

All these shows had such unique styles but now we just get cheap flash animated shows that hurt your eyes
And your ears
Rayanne Florence that’s *ALL* to true!
SO TRUE!!
Rayanne Florence yeah. I loved my shows. I hate flash animation.
I like the rain thank you! Do not judge quality by decade! Keep in mind, most of the clips of sesame Street strider showed we're very new.
The fact that Mr. Rogers is no longer with us still brings tears to my eyes every time it’s brought up. He Was My Childhood. In terms of the honorable mentions, my siblings would listen to a Wiggles cassette tape on out yearly vacation trip. Throughout the 10hr one way trip “Fruit Salad” was played repeatedly that even to this day I can still regrettably remember most of the lyrics.
Same to both hah
I love The Wiggles
I feel like there needs to be a part two. Bear In The Big Blue House and fraggle rock where also both amazing kids shows and always had a lesson to teach
Sure you can make this second part.
They have to be live-action.

Bear and the Big Blue House is animated? Seems like puppets to me.
Yes, they have and seems animation and puppet.
@@QZXproductions well, sorry for the inconvience.
Huh... I look back on my old vids like this sometimes, and I feel really glad I'm able to do what I do. It was great to talk about these and perhaps bring a little more warmth to the web.
PhantomStrider yay! You also remember LazyTown I agree what you said about it.
Strider, whenever you upload a video it's like Christmas has come early. You're a brilliant person in every way imaginable.

I always had such fond memories of Lazytown, but I actually thought it was so amazing that my brain had made it all up! (That's just how amazing it was). But then the memes came crashing and I realized that the show was actually just _that_ amazing!
I actually didn’t know lazy town was popular until people started making memes. I thought I was that one kid who loves that one show that no one has ever heard of. I’m so glad I was wrong
@Puglavender666 why?
This is one of the most EXPENSIVE children’s show in history
I LOVED the Upside-Down show! So happy you know it! Childhood man.

StickMaster500 tf2 is dead. Sure ut still has players but slow updates, less content creators and most importantly less creative fandom... sad it became poor man's overwatch.

The one important thing is that he was number one
Sorry
And he always will be.

IT SAID IT MR KRABS! HE WAS NUMBER ONE!
I kinda felt ashamed as a teenager for love so much Lazy Town and Backyardigans, they were my jams and instead of watching other shows for more mature audiences I just got stocked with those two shows so hard, my partners on junior high school made fun of me a lot of times... now I'm ashamed for being ashamed of that... I was just a teenager with such good taste on shows!
i still watch the backyardigans, mr rodgers, blue clues & sometimes even Dora and im 15 so im still sorta young but those shows shaped me into who i am and i love that they can still have an impact on me today !
Don't worry. I'm a 15 year old Hi-5 addict who has all the DVDs and posters and merchandise and everything. I've seen every episode from Season 1-10!
OcioCamaraMx Dude I still watch my Backyardigans DVDs and I'm frickin 14
I still listen to we are number one all the time! So don't be ashamed, be you!
Mine is Jane and The Dragon, check it out some time!
P.S I'm late
I loved this when I was little now I'm 11 and still remember when Steve 'went off to college' and his 'younger brother' took over as host. Later my parents explained that Steve was getting to old for the roll
Yeah...I was sad when joe came on and steve left
Kate B Steve was actually going bald and that's why he left
yeah, kinda playing off of what Rafe said, Steve left because (a) he wanted to explore other things, and (b) he was going bald. if you look at the episode where he explores the college he is supposedly going to, you can notice it's heavily based around music. he did actually go to music school and made him self quite a respectable music career. i have no idea of his whereabouts now, though.
Um, Steve left the show before you were born kiddo. Aaand now I feel old... but he put out an album and did a cover of "dead" by they might be giants. He's a great singer and I have his album
Kate B, not exactly. He left because he was embarrassed of his receding hairline.
That clip of Mr.Rogers singing to that little boy about liking him just the way he is always makes me cry. Fred Rogers was such a great an amazing man and so happy I had the privilege of watching and learning from him.
I remember Lazy Town I only watched few episodes until I feel grown up from it but since you put on the list I thought I give it a chance and for the remembrance of the actor who played Robbie Rotten
I actually thought it was more for kids than being the best kids show ever
Ayy remember when Mr. Hooper died and Sesame Street had to do an episode about death on the fly?
And remember how it was handled with respect and integrity?
And how nowadays networks will make up excuses for a character's absence?
Sesame Street remains my favorite educational show airing today, and that opinion hasn't changed for my whole seventeen years of life.
Yep, depressing.
Pokémon Trainer Connor ポケモントレーナーコナー it was good they did a episode for death cuz a loved ones death is a big moment in your life and them teaching kids how to handle it is great👍 now in days, it's always a villain or someone scarfing themselves who dies and it doesn't teach you anything about how it would feel for someone were to die in real life.
That Hooper scene actually made me cry when I saw it. It was all done in one take by the crew and we very much see real emotion from all of them. One of the most raw, beautiful, bold scenes I've seen in children's entertainment.
+PhantomStrider beautiful
Pokémon Trainer Connor ポケモントレーナーコナー Not true. Glee and The Big Bang Theory handled them very well.
I wish my parents put on mr Rodgers neighborhood when I was little
Rayanne Florence wat. Whoes parents didnt?
I used to think he was boring as a kid but I see that he's a good person and I was missing out 😂
I never watched Mr Roger's Neighbourhood when I was little. In fact I don't think it was on in my home at all but I heard good things about it (minus THOSE 2 episodes).
Though I have to say that the voice quality here is... Non-existent. WTF.
Dude you missed out! It was a really good show!

He has another list where he includes some of these.
I’m 14 now and my brother just turned 12 today. He has autism, so my parents and I work really hard to find good shows for him. When he was 4, he adored Sesame Street. It made him feel normal. We would both watch and it was a legitimately good show.
We also both loved the muppets. Every time we’d go to the library around the corner from our house, we would scavenge the movie section for as many muppet dvds as possible. He loved Animal, and would clap his hands and giggle at almost everything he did.
My son has autism as well and when I saw Julia tears came to my eyes and my son loves her.

I'm really glad you mentioned The Upside Down Show. It first came out when I was 9, but ever since I got my whole family to watch it, we have been cult followers. I'm 19 now, my brother is 22, and my sister is 16, but we still crack up over every single little thing Shane and David do.
"Shane, did you smear honey on the ceiling again?"
"Maybe..."
I grew up with the Muppets' DVD's. Even though I was born years after Jim Henson passed, I've always loved them.
Blue's Clues is a masterpiece. Mr. Roger's Neighborhood is a masterpiece. The Muppets is a masterpiece. Lazytown is a masterpiece. You know what, everything on this list is a pure masterpiece
I really suggest watching In Our Own Words its a PBS documentary series and the Jim Henson episode is a really good. I really suggest they episode if your interested
lazytown suck ass
I completely agree with you! :)
Blues Clues...
Lazy Town...
Muppets...
Ah, the nostalgia :D
Even though it was only briefly mentioned, I would just like to say that The Upside Down Show is an untapped well of pure meme potential.
The whole reason Mr. Rogers is my favorite kids show is because the kind natured person he is, he is the type of person I would want my kids to grow up as. He’s as close to a saint on Earth as there can be.
As someone likes reading I used to love Reading Rainbow, Between the Lions, and Wishbone.
My first ever backpack was from Between the Lions!!! :D
Oh yeah, both Reading Rainbow and Wishbone were good.
I remember watching Between the Lions. The only part I remember really clearly was the Cliffhanger part
What's the story Wishbone, what's this your dreaming of?
Such a Big imagination, from such a little pup!
What's the Story Wishbone, do you think it's worth a look?
It kinda seems familiar, like a story from a book.
Shake a leg now Wishbone, let's wag another Tale.
Sniffin' out adventure, with Wishbone on the Trail.
Come on Wishbooooooooooone, What's the Story Wishbone!?
'Panflutes'
What's the Story Wishbone!?
'Panflutes again'
What's the story Wishbone!?
'More Panflutes, more songs need panflutes.'
What's the Story Wishbone!?
Bark!
I remembered half of that, the other half i had to re listen to to get the lyrics right.
Between the Lions was so good; I loved that show as a child
I loved jogging in place in front of the tv or whatever the characters were doing in lazy town when I was little and I'm a teen and think I might even watch it when I'm done watching this video.
OMG The Upside Down Show was such a huge part of my childhood! I don't hear people talk about it much but I remember staying up each night to catch it on Nick Jr. It was just so much fun going on imaginary adventures with those guys!

I was surprised to find out it predates _The Muppet Show_.
Honestly, it is probably the inspiration of the muppets. It is truly the grandfather of childrens television.
I kinda remember Lazy Town but I didn't watch it in English I always watched it in Spanish lol

I don’t know why but it’s so satisfying hearing Strider talking about why these kid shows are so amazing. These shows deserve more respect from more adults.
When I was a kid I would sometimes forget the Muppets weren’t real.
revisiting this video specifically to hear you talk about Lazytown....feels appropriate. I want so much more life for Stefan Karl, but if he has to go....I hope he knows the impact him and that little show that could had on everyone who saw it.
I'm trying to become ok with the idea of losing someone I look up to as much as I do him. The memories will all be good, and his Robbie Rotten will live forever, but damn does it hurt.

Gosh, every time I see Mr. Rogers' Neighborhood, I feel like I'm going to cry. Not only was he such an inspiration for kids, but he was one of the kindest souls this planet has ever given us. I always watched that show as a kid. I even watch any kind of reruns PBS offers. He will always have a special place in my heart. There will never be another Mr. Rogers. 😖❤☮
Can you believe that steve stood in front of a green screen talking to nonexistent objects in order to give us entertainment? that's true dedication
The amazing thing about Mr. Rogers was that by all accounts he was the same in real life as he was in the show.
Don't worry phantom strider your not the only one as a teenager who watched blues clues I did only because I wanted to checkout kids shows comparison to the ones I watched in the1980's but I loved Steve on blues clues joe was ok he was no Steve
TheBundychick82 in my opinion joe and Steve are both charming but I liked Steve’s preformence better
Blue's Clues and Lazytown were my childhood. I love those two shows, along with other shows, and I love the "You Are a Pirate" song; and - of course - Stefan Karl is dearly missed. Rest in peace Stefan Karl.
Awesome video Strider! I loved it :)
looking back at shows like these brings a tear to my eye. Blue's Clues, Sesame Street, Lazy Town, Read Between the Lions...and so many more were such a big part of my childhood. Especially Blue's Clues. Like i was obsessed lmao. Kids today will never understand how great these were :/ which is sad.

Admit it, we all clicked on this just for LazyTown.
Michael Rosen ........
Michael Rosen I didn't
Don't think I ever heard of Lazytown before this.
Michael Rosen-I hate that show. It always weirded me out.
No.
Among the many shows I enjoyed as a kid, many of which everyone has already mentioned, I also enjoyed The Big Comfy Couch when I was between 3-7 because, like Bear in the Big Blue House and even Mr. Roger's Neighborhood, it was simple, fun, entertaining, and had lessons and ideas that were creative for young minds. :)
Bear in the Big Blue House, Barney, Mr. Rogers Neighborhood had Lessons so many Young Viewers.
I live your channel so much. You make me laugh a lot. And I love how you actually look like you enjoy this because you enjoy this and not make any little old thing for subs. It looks like you personally do look and actually RESEARCH.
And I hope you stay that way. You are an amazing youtuber strider. I love how much fun you look to be having each video.

Yamaiko Hiro He has to have checkups for the rest of his life. He also may need surgeries.
Stefan is a fucking trooper.
OMG!! I remember watching Beakman' s World and Lazytown all the time when I was around five or six. So many memories!
Beakman has always had a special place in my life and heart, I watched him ALL the time as a kid, and so when you gave him a spot on the list, it actually made me shed a tear, it left a massive hole in my heart when it got canceled, so thank you for including it on the list!
From teaching you the alphabet to talking about death twice, Sesame Street really is #1!
If only kids shows teach actually good life lessons these days......
I don't think there is not going to be some life lesion in the gumball don't hug me in scared episode
more like the fire lesion
THROW AWAY YOUR TOYS OR THEY WILL HAUNT YOU!
take it as a joke m8 please we do not know the plot I think
BlastProcessingPower Like the episode 'The Complication' when they sing "Nobody's a Nobody".
BlastProcessingPower Yea, but not for very young kids (not that I heard of). I don't know why, but nowadays kids shows don't have the balls to even say words like "cancer". It's kinda a shame
Well Sesame Street is still going strong at least
The Little Ghost there's a remake on cartoonito that pretty much nails the source material plus it has star wars references in one episodes
A show that I grew up with that not too many people know about is Out of The Box, a live action kids show that aired 1998 - 2004 on Playhouse Disney. The show was focused around crafts and performing arts, using those to convey its morals a lot of the time. It was based around using your imagination which is why I took to it so much. It's messages were really good for kids and adults, like learning how to take care of pets or dealing with being scared. If you can find some episodes online I'd definitely recommend you check it out.
Wicked Wendigo
I definitely would after reading what you just said. :)
I loved out of the box it was awesome
I loved that show as a kid. I also loved Between The Lions and Bear In The Big Blue House.
Sure you can and can you please make the second part of this video, please?
My top 5 best live action kid shows I watched when I was younger that I loved would be:
1. Thomas the Tank engine
2. Sesame street
3. The Muppets
4. Bill Nye the science guy
5. Blues Clues
Honorable mentions: Barney, Bear and the big blue house, the big comfy couch and Yo Gabba Gabba!
Also if Bob the builder is live action, that would be on the list as well. Same if Degrassi was aimed towards a younger audience.
"Art attack" was the show what made me into the "great" artists I am today so I'm glad it's here.
I remember me and my sisters watching Lazytown and ask mom sports candy after the episode.
Aww, I remember Lazy Town and trying to do the jumps around the house, I mean my mom wasn't a fan of it, but I still love the show. And watch it whenever I can find it on tv.
Any robots in the show
Bill nye gets shown in my science class..... I'm 16 XD
monsterhighghoul27 I WANT TO GO TO YOUR SCHOOL!!!
Why would they show the netflix show in your class?
potaNINOOO !!! Lols it only happens near the end of term tho ☺
EctoplasmPhantom I didn't know it was on Netflix, My school has a media library app thingy that the teachers log onto. It only allows things that are suitable for schools so I am guessing that that is why it is on there.
monsterhighghoul27 I am talking about the recent version in which Bill Nye has been abducted and brainwashed by the Alien race known simply as SJW and now spouts ridiculous garbage like sex being on a spectrum and gender being a social construct. I was joking about that because you didn't specify.

You should defintely do a best modern little kid shows list. Shows like Tumble Leaf, Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood, even Doc McStuffins are pretty fabulous and deserve some attention.
Blue's clues was a big staple of my childhood,, and so was Lazy Town.
Rest In Peace, Stefán Karl Stefánsson.
I love all three The Muppets, Sesame Street and Lazy Town, both for their colorful characters and enriching storytelling, I was sad to find out that they actually made a distinct Sesame Street for the Latin American audience, and I didn't knew that the Sesame Street I used to watch wasn't this one, but I still love it of course, similar to The Muppets with their wacky adventures, funny musical numbers, and also the recent theatrical films have been and absolute blast!, though I'm sad they cancelled the new ABC show, now that's a damn shame, and Lazy Town with the great energy of the songs, the characters, and Stephanie's positivism was what I loved the most from the show, I used to have a crush on Stephanie when I was a kid, haha
There are several regional variations of Sesame street, even an Israeli one.
the brazilian sesame street is so good, but is kinda sad that we dont have the opportunity to see the original dubbed

I would also like to hear what he thinks of OK KO. I think it's a really good cartoon.
Fun fact: The theme song of Mr. Rogers has an example of the Mandela Effect. A lot of people remember the opening as "It's a beautiful day in the neighborhood", when it's actually "It's a beautiful day in *this* neighborhood."
10:29 - 10:48 man, 6 years later, this hits really hard. RIP Stefan, you'll always be number one.
