Your dad calling NWA and Geto Boys "bands" reminded me of D12's song My Band where they say "We aint a band b!tch, we don't play instruments." 😂 It was cute tho 😄
I've watched several of your reactions. I am entertained but even more, I appreciate you both. Son, you introducing, providing historical context, and having the courage to share with your dad is so great! Dad, your openness and honest appreciation for what you hear and experience, especially when it's outside your comfort zone is fantastic! You're both an example of what we need in our families and in the world: openness, acceptance, and the freedom to be and share our authentic selves. Much Love! ❤
I don’t know how you’re so calm listening to songs like these. I would be dancing and singing the whole time 😂 I love y’all’s reactions and love coming across the ones that I listened to when I was younger!
@@frontroom most definitely! I was born in '83 and grew up in Denver with all kinds of different music around me. I really got into the Memphis music because of the raw unique style beats. It's good to know that there are some that enjoy the raw hip hop style 💯💯 God Bless!!
You should do Overnight Celebrity by Twista w/ Kanye! Your dad really liked Twista's verse in Slow Jamz and I feel like he'd have a great reaction to a full Twista song
id love to see your Dad listen to "man i miss my dawgs" or "f*ck the world by Lil Wayne them two songs got me really through some hard times. Man i miss my dogs was the song me and my buddies would drive around listening to after friends started getting murdered in the streets our group of friends many started going to prison or jail, and that song was one that helped deal with that. Also F*ck the world, lil wayne was pretty young but was a go to song when i was feeling overwhelmed by the world.
I’d love to see the reaction to Mona Lisa, masterclass storytelling. And if you’re looking for a kendrick album, none better than GKMC to get a feel for kendrick
My 8yr old daughter and I love these reactions. She is big into older hip hop(raised right) haha. She wanted me to ask you to get dad to react to Nelly at some point. Be safe and God bless
I am sure that it’s on Kai’s list. Trust the process 😊 I feel that he is guiding dad through the tracks that will appeal to him and then gradually opens up to more. Thanks though for reminding me of this track 👍🏻
Great reaction. Someone must have told you already but another reason the album is called the carter is in reference to the Carter building in New Jack City (Movie). In The Carter 1 and a bit in 2, a few songs talk about rooms and areas in the building.
It's just hard for me to put any other rapper above Wayne, he has it all and still produces hits. The main reason I listen to hip hop is to be entertained, very few can do it like Wayne.
Thanks for the new video, you're both awesome. Here's a few free suggestions :D Erick Sermon - "Music ft. Marvin Gaye" (the official video might be too distracting so go with an audio-only version) TQ - "Bye Bye Baby" (the entire trilogy if you can! Just to get the full "movie"-like experience: 1st video - full video - his girl was shot during a car-jacking gone-wrong. 2nd part is "The Comeback" with Kurupt and Daz Dillinger - has a good video too, same vein but he gets revenge on those who killed his fiancee/baby momma; You can stop with these 2 but there's also a lesser known 3rd part: The Aftermath - more of a ballad making the point that revenge didn't get her back to him and is still torturing him) Also from TQ - "Daily", "If the World Was Mine" Joe Budden - "Aftermath", "When it All Implodes" (great samples in both, in every chorus, and pays off at the end), "Angel in My Life", "Sacred ft. Marques Houston", "Dreamerz ft. Emani" Now for a change of voice-tone, try Ja Rule but not just any top 10 hits, go with some of his deeper material like "One of Us", "So Much Pain ft. 2Pac", "Suicide Freestyle", "Daddy's Little Baby ft. Ron Isley", "Rule Won't Die", "Pain is Love" Mary J. Blige - "Rainy Dayz ft. Ja Rule" Scarface - "Smile ft. 2Pac", "On My Block" Anything from The Heavy (band)
In 2007 I took a month long spring break vacation since I live in Florida and the only thing i remember is Lil Wayne and the Carter 3 and every song off of there being played 24.7 every other song. Im not exaggerating, it's more of an understatement. With my life revolving around music i would n9t remember that spring break for not Lil Wayne. Great memories in Daytona and st pete.
Bobby V started in a group called Mista. They had a song called “Blackberry Molasses” that you two should do a video on. It's a great song from the mid-90s.
PLEASE LISTEN TO: YEBBA | OCTOBER SKY (Live at Electric Lady performance specifically, published as an album). I discovered this channel today and spent the past 3 hours watching your videos. Your dad cries listening to all of my favorite songs, so I urge you to consider and play that for him, or anything else from that album or anything else from Yebba. She also has an amazing live performance of My Mind that's insane, but I think he would gravitate more towards October Sky. I LOVE THIS CHANNEL, keep up with it!
I love these reaction videos man and i know you showed your dad 50 and MOBB DEEP. So when are we getting the Outta control remix reaction!!!!! Lol keep up the good work!
Just been watching a few of these videos. Is there an explanation how Kai has been into all this iconic music from childhood etc. but the father has never heard of (many/most) the artists or songs before despite pretty clearly able to dissect the music as though he has a background in the arts like a teacher might? Did Kai not grow up in the same household as the father?
In many households, kids wore headphones or listened to music away from parents. Older generations were against hip hop due to the explicit or violent content when parental advisory warnings were added. We didn't have music at our fingertips easily accessible.
Lil Wayne's Playing w/ Fire feat Betty Wright from the same album. I think he'll be fairly familiar w/ her from her other songs, maybe not by name but voice.
Om The topic of songs with incredible touchy lyric’s plz consider “how could you leave us” by NF. I Saw that you already reacted to mockingbord and now Lil Wayne. NF is incredibly lyricel and touching! Love from denmark
Nate has two sides. The Dark which is capsulated in The songs “mansion” and and How he Got there “How could you leave us” and The change in personality in The new album HOPE, highlighted The transition in The song HOPE
The name of the carter albums are named after him but also after a building in the movie new jack city lil Wayne has so many great song you need to do a reaction video to Mona Lisa, BMJR, tha mobb, everything, 500 degrees, 3 peat, nightmares of the bottom, don’t cry, or bill gates
Don't sleep on Bobby Valentino...he had some hits

You let your 8 year old listen to this? It's all about sex and drugs...
@Denise-mh8cj I appreciate that. She gravitated to DMX and Nelly really on her own. I just nudged her in the right direction
YAAAASSSSS!!! Finally you did Mrs. Officer. Can I request Fireman? Some early Lil Wayne, fire track.
Dad, you alright? Hope all is well. Thanks for another great video!
Lol your dad @ 06:47 “Even if you don’t fuck with Lil Wayne” 😅😅😅
If dad finished that sentence he would've ended up 4 shades darker 😂
That's what I heard! 😂😂😂
Missed opportunity to show your Dad Tie My Hands. Such an emotional song and really is a different style and side to Wayne.
Classic
because he can't do it later
@@Calvinje88 because tie my hands is such an important lil Wayne song that it would be prioritized over others…🙄
