In regards to the line “turned front page n****”: It’s speaking in reference to putting someone on the front page of the newspaper, which was coded language for saying you would murder someone. The implication being that they and the story would then be “front page news” the next day. In Hip Hop songs and slang, this is also used interchangeably with, “put him on the news”, i.e. the local evening news.
I really love the concept of this. I used to listen to my hip hop songs with my dad until he passed away in 2019. This song was recorded before Tupac was shot and has nothing to do with the incident, but it was released after the fact so it looks like it’s about it when it’s not
Hey word of advice, the violent hip hop beefs of the 90's/ East West beef run deep so, don't let the comments ever bug you, I would be super selective and few with these songs and be *super on top of the history - This song was recorded well before he was shot, apparently "the streets" in Brooklyn new exactly who did it and in fact Biggie is said to have warned Tupac to stay away from these people. Also Pac later ran into Biggie during the beef and flagrantly/mockingly said "I'm just trying to sell records ". Basically it does seem to be a betrayal because Biggie famously told his people not to respond to Tupac or else the couldn't be with him, to actually let the drama fade away. He appears to be truthful to not be involved and no one really thinks he was. (look up Bigge negative energy Interview). Last thing - Pac famously started beefs that made no sense, dissing the Fugees and LL Cool J for apparently no reason.
@@frontroom No prob! I happened to be alive at that time and Hip Hop has never seen anything close before or after, and yet just saying so doesn't do the story justice. Pac was coming to record with Little Shawn, set up by his manager Jimmy Henchman. This song was recorded before the studio shooting but Puff decided it was a good idea to release it on the b side for record sales. The Jimmy Henchman ordered the hit on Pac where he was shot and he’s serving multiple life sentences behind this and other shootings.

Edit id also heavily recommend mobb deep, if he liked illmatic hell love it though its much more gritty anr dark, especially their debut album. .
Or above the clouds by gangstar
Peace and love upon the souls of you and your father and your family . All love for your great work my friends
Lifes a bitch but God forbid the bitch divorce me.
Take it in blood is one of my favourite Nas joints. Bassline from Live Squad is MONSTROUS
I like the son and father relationship. The father is very down to earth and the son has a good upbringing. Very respectful.
Would love to see you show your dad Lupe Fiasco - Mural or Jay Electronica - Exhibit C
Believe or not - we filmed a Jay Elec reaction the other day. It will be up soon.
2 very good recommendations. I agree on both
In regards to the line “turned front page n****”: It’s speaking in reference to putting someone on the front page of the newspaper, which was coded language for saying you would murder someone.
Your dad would love the Stevie Wonder album with Common called A Common Wonder, it would be great to see his reaction.
Also for clever wordplay may i recomend a song called Father's Day by Chino XL, my dad loved this song. Thank me later lol.
Keep up the good work. Peace.
I dont know that song i will check it out
@@dirkmagnee tell me what you think
@@jonathangrant7427 good song, thnx
First off you and your dad are great! I think one of your next videos should be something along the lines of iconic hip hop battles like the one with Jayz and Nas in one show and your dads reaction to hear both songs I think that would one of your greatest shows ever!
Hit ‘Em Up is gonna be next. Can’t wait to see dads reaction to that one lol.
Hope you play him a Scarface track one day. Now I Feel Ya would be a great one with the story telling in it.
Keep up the great work, both of you!
I recommend
Dance with the devil
By immortal technique.
Great song.
Immortal Technique-Dancing With The Devil. The Darkest Piece Of Visual Story Telling Ever Written
Omg when dad hears tupacs response 🥺. He will see a totally different tupac than the one he knows..Dad... we love you 💜
You have to play your dad juicy or biggie's one more chance This way he can see how versatile he was
Recently just discovered this dope channel and had a suggestion! Lupe fiasco - hip hop saved my life
When you Do life After Death your dad will think he's listening to a Martin Scorsese or Quentin Tarantino film. That is what Biggie's storytelling is like. When I listen I'm visualizing a film. He's so good.
The one and only Goat 🐐 Biggie.
Listen to Santan Dave - Psychodrama. It’s one of the best albums you’ll ever hear and an introduction to UK music. It also bring more fans to watch your videos
This song was recorded before Tupac was shot and has nothing to do with the incident, but it was released after the fact so it looks like it’s about it when it’s not
You really should do Dance With The Devil from Immortal Technique
Would suggest to do Krumbsnatcha - Gettin Close to God. Absolutely amazing storytelling, and it's based on true life event for Krumb
Love that song, excellent production by DJ Premier too!
93 Til Infinity is a must to hear
You guys should listen to Outkast - Da Art of Storytellin' (Part 1). Amazing song, think you would really like it!
Can’t wait for hit ‚em up 🫢🤯
Hey word of advice, the violent hip hop beefs of the 90's/ East West beef run deep so, don't let the comments ever bug you, I would be super selective and few with these songs and be *super on top of the history - This song was recorded well before he was shot, apparently "the streets" in Brooklyn new exactly who did it and in fact Biggie is said to have warned Tupac to stay away from these people.
Facts
Thank you so much for filling me in! I appreciate this tremendously.
@@frontroom No prob! I happened to be alive at that time and Hip Hop has never seen anything close before or after, and yet just saying so doesn't do the story justice. I may as well suggest Ether/Takeover from Nas/Jay Z to show the redemptive contrast of how intense a beef can get but remain on records, leaving the fans to be the winners
I feel that Tupac thought he owed everything to death row and Suge. He was pushed in the beef direction because it sold records.
@@metalmafiachris Yep this was also widely accepted as why All Eyez on ME was counted as 2 albums, because he owed 5. Not sure if they always count those as two but I don't think so, anyone can correct
Man as a 21 year old who only listens to old school hip hop this is great to see. You have to show your dad who Big Daddy Kane is next.
Song was recorded b4 pac was shot...yet still added fuel to the rivalry.
I got a story to tell- big
One of my favs of all time
Also 1970s something- big and the game.
Actually Biggie recorded this song months before Tupac was shot.
"This is not the vibe for the car ride" PMSL!!!!!! LOVE IT!!!
Now with your dad you Have to listen to HIT EM UP by Tupac! His answer to the Bad Boy Records
this absolute lyrical genius yall!
I would love it if you played some 2pac interviews for your Dad. That would be dope!
Dude! You have a bad ass dad I wish my dad was this when I was a youngster man cherish him bro because he’s one of the only people who will ever truly have your I’m a huge fan of your pops let him know he’s doing great raising you young fella y’all gained a subscriber in me 💯
Thanks Bugsy :) - Kai’s dad
@@frontroom you’re welcome I’m a huge keep showing this youngster some good old school music 💯
Now u have to play hit em up for ya dad. It's 2pac's "reply" . Best diss song ever.
I grew up on this stuff I can’t wait to see this vid, it’s the 1st time watching you guys.
Seems cool you guys are having fun.
I’ll check in after I watch.
Love the channel and the reactions, but I have to correct you. Biggie was recording with Junior Mafia and had no idea Puff was coming because Puff was coming to spy on Biggie. He owned his publishing so he wanted to see if Biggie was writing for the Junior Mafia artists so he could get paid. Puffy was in another part of the studio.
THANK YOU smh cause these people in these comments
Yes!! This is important information to correct.
They said “who shot ya” was recorded months before the shooting it just was released after
MORE BIGGIE! MORE BIGGIE!
Also Biggie (The artist) doesn't decide what music is put out, the label does. So Puffy had it released and it was just a dope ass song nothing to do with the ACTOR Tupac
Sureeee
It’s funny as a kid growing up in the 90s i listened to mostly hip hop but it wasn’t until i was older and listened to Who Shot ya and the lyrical story telling combinations is poetry, truly amazing comparative to Nas’s I gave you Power!
React to Eminem - Stan
Your son knows a lot of hip hop history, salute to you both
HISTORY LESSON: Biggie recorded that song way before Pac was shot. 2Pac got shot, puffy released “who shot ya” then 2Pac destroyed Biggie’s Life
Loving the channel and learning new things. Thank you
Yasss East coast. I still play Biggie. I love you and your pops ❤️❤️
Hahaha lol ,Yo this was so cool , the interest , closeness, and bond being built is a beautiful thing to see between Father and Son ,I commend you both on working together to produce such a fine product to offer folks ,Big Up and keep it coming ,so cool
Gimme Some Wu Tang Clan ,.....So Simple ,I would love to see Pop's reaction
Why does it seem like your dad's head bop, has more and more swag every video
