I came here to see which ending would follow through to Blasphemous 2 (It's been 2 years since I played the game lol). Looks like ending 3 is the obvious one. I'm excited to what happens after this ending in the events of Blasphemous 2, that bizarre heart in the sky is most likely be what the High Wills were trying to keep imprisoned but now it's released and we will have to fight it.
Pretty sure Ending A (the true ending) is the canon ending since the sequel shows the penitent one climbing out of a coffin just like the one he is put into.
Though all of the endings are bad/sad endings, the 3rd one is the best with a cliff hanger for Blasphemous 2! It's too bad to get all of the endings in this game are too encrypted to see each one. Indigo Prophecy, Drakengard and Odin Sphere has multiple endings that can be accessed near the end of the game without back tracking 😢

The miracle adopts you as his son (Jesus). Third ending: You reject the miracle. You follow the path of the fourth visage (Judas), desecrating all that is divine. You cross the dream and reach the kingdom of god. You meet the High Wills. They tell you how they created god as their own reflection to immortalize themselves. You kill them and commit the greatest blasphemy. You become the anti-god basically.

you didnt lol, as the title of the ending say thats a path, the path of the unworthy thus it means you failed your task at atoning for your sins and ridding yourself of your guilt, not being able to prove yourself of being worthy to the miracle and high wills the ending A is the good ending, an option, while not exactly the truest ending, called the path of the believer, the title speaks for itself as the penitent one is being forgiven for his sins and eventually becomes the new father and son of the miracle and ending C, the true and canon ending being the penitent one's rejection of the miracle and high wills, disobeying the divine will of the gods and their twisted games, eventually killing them and removing every effect that the miracle has brought upon the land of cvstodia, dying as a consequence because your own resurrection among the brotherhood of the silent sorrow was also the miracle's own will, for a purpose that only the miracle knows. you die, the twisted one vanishes into thin air, your sword, the mea culpa, vanishes as it was the miracle's creation for punishing a guilty woman once. you have brought piece upon cvstodia, sacrificing yourself and rejecting the miracle to transcend reality. this game is truly a masterpiece of storytelling

She pulled it out because she was jealous as her brother was the one she supported on becoming the hero. So in the game you kill her brother as he stands in your way and thats why she pulls it out. As she wants to be the hero of the story. But in doing so she commits blasphemy and thus the story begins once again. Kinda like dark souls with the fire being linked

you can get bad and good endings in first save file, for the true ending you need to play again and finish the final DLC requirements, I did the true ending in NG+ so I won't lose all my beads / prayers etc.

What you mean doesn't have a story? This should sum things up: The brotherhood of the silent sorrow is destroyed in the beggining of the game, likely for some sort of heresy. The penitent one is revived by the Miracle 'cause it wants him to reach the craddle of afliction. To make the story and some pieces of the lore clearer, the game introduces Deogracias, which proceed to explain what we have to do. To reach the craddle of afliction, the penitent one must reach the top of the ashen mountain which lies on top of the Mother of Mothers. To do that, he must collect the 3 humiliations that the Miracle scattered throughout Custodia. The followers of Escribar doesn't want him to take Escribar's place though, so they will try to stop him...

In Blasphemous there's a good ending, a bad ending, and a true ending.
But alas the Grievous Miracle cannot abide a happy one.
We did get a happy ending in the second game.
And thus his penitence is over.

I somehow think the High Wills are pretty much assholes for exploiting the faith and penitence of Cvstodia for their own immortality.
