- Ross and Kathy Callaghan's cruise to Papua New Guinea on the Pacific Aria. February 2018. The documentary style video gives a ship tour, and then shows each of the places visited: Alotau, Madang, Wewak, Witu Islands, Rabaul, Kiriwina, Kitava and Conflict Islands. The 14 night cruise was one of the best ever!
Thanks for coming to PNG and your positive comments.
AWESOME! Great video. I was supposed to be on that cruise from Brisbane. Thanks for visiting my PNG and my Wewak.
Plis Alotau klinim nambis pulap lo rabis. Love you all Alotau Citizens to have tourist visits.
Love your videos. You are so positive & happy. Love PNG too.
Thanks to love my country PNG . From Wewak
Thank you! Your video is more informative than a TV documentary. Very professionally done. Again: thank you. Also wonderful pics at the end.
Doing to PNG cruise this November 2022. It will be interesting to see what has changed.
Hello Kathy & Ross, Fantastic video. Thank you so much. I am booked on the Aria to PNG next year & now wish it was tomorrow !!!
Going on this cruise in November.... so excited 👍
Enjoyed every minute of the video, truly a most enjoyable watch. Better than most tv shows actually, well-done mate.
Thanks so much for making the effort to share your holiday. We are going in November.
Thank you so much for this amazing video. I love The Aria and I used to live in PNG so I thoroughly enjoyed watching this.
Love watching you very informative and at ease video going next July on the Aria 😀
Love your stuff keep it coming guys.
Brings back so many memories
Nice vid can’t wait till our amazing cruise from Auckland to fiji
id like to go there as well..my dad fought there
Forgot to say it was also a great tour of the ship. We’ve cruised on Royal Caribbean and Princess many times but never P&O. They often get a bad rap but the ship and food looks beautiful!!!
I have watched so many videos about cruising to Papua New Guinea as I am going on a cruise there in December 2019. This has been the most informative of them all. Well done. You have given me a lot to think about and lots of ideas of what to do. Thankyou.
Thank you Ross and Kathy. Your knowledge of the places you visited in PNG is amazing. As a PNGean I am speechless. Best video I've seen from a foreigner about PNG
Thanks Robert. We loved PNG so much that we have booked another cruise for next year. Hope the cruise goes ahead!!
@@calros3 that's awesome...
Thanks for doing such a comprehensive video of these ports in PNG, it’s sooo helpful to see what they are like! Some remind me so much of my time in Honiara for work.
Thanks to Ross and Kathy for this footage, it's awesome to have this, and love to see you guys again, and also your families can visit us (PNG). Godbless and safe trip back home.
Thanks so much for your wonderfully informative video. Going to go ahead and book this cruise now, sailing from Sydney on the Pacific Explorer
Thanks for the video, i am from Wewak.Havn't been there in 10 years :(
In Old Aryan religion, pre-christianity, the Vulcans were the "keepers of the Fire" Where the name Volcano comes from. (Vulcano)
I’m dead serious when I say I have not heard of any of these ports. Thank you for the geography lesson! You are both so informative.
Good video thanks for making it, We did this similar cruise last week on the Aria, 27th Nov-7th Dec 2018, Alotau was a bust if you did not do a shore tour, the "markets" are rubbish, Rabaul was pretty good we did the volcano shore tour and got a fantastic Lady guide, Kiriwina was a lovely Island , Kitava and Conflict Islands were lovely, the locals were friendly, probably go back again. It was very hot there even the locals were complaining.
Thanks Ross and Kathay for Promoting PNG and my Province East Sepik- Wewak,, Love your video. See you next time when you come to wewak
Gr8 vid, really enjoyed it, Im in 2 of your scenes, the table tennis scene and the vitu island scene and my cabin buddies are in your spencer chester clip !

thankyou so much for this wonderful video and the thought and effort you put into it I was once on the RYNDAM in 2000 and 1999 for many back to back cruises including a few Panama Canal and she was a wonderful ship Id love to go again someday on the now Pacific Aria kind regards:)
So jealous.. I’m excited to see your review
Wonderful vid you two. I am taking the smaller cruise from Cairns end July. Thank you x
Thankyou again for such a detailed journey and I’ll be seeing the ARIA as she leaves Brisbane tomorrow Not sure why but I didn’t think she’d have any appeal for me but it would be worth the trip to see everything you saw in this journey Looks Amazing
Very good representation of the entire cruise Kathy and Ross. The people of Papua New Guinea will appreciated your presentation of their cultures. Morag and I hope you enjoyed our presentations and that they were able to assist you in enjoying your cruise to its fullest. Cheers, John Hocknull
Thanks John. Your excellent lectures helped make the cruise so special.
Hi John I attended all your lectures on PNG on cruise 27/11-07/12, well done
@@calros3 hi going on the aria in march this year can you tell me whats the ship like.
Hi Kevin. The video gives a full ship tour so you can see what the Aria is like. Not as big or luxurious as many of the ships out of Australia but still great. An added bonus is two specialty restaurants being included for free. We will be going for another cruise on the Aria very soon and looking forward to it. Enjoy your cruise.
@@calros3 thankyou for that we have booked to go again on it the aria on the 10th February 2021 from Adelaide to perth return stopping at 5 ports on the way then back to Adelaide looking forward to that
Hi Ross andKathy.thanks for the wonderful video. That will give us an idea when going on the Jewel in Oct to Png.love the Aria.been 3 times also. The Waitter who gave you a little bit of pepper at Angelo is Christian .was nice to see him on the video.

I have been on pacific aria p and o and I'm going to Papua new ginney soon lol
Hi teagan welcome to Papua New Guinea
Hi there Ross and Kathy, thankyou so much for this wonderful video,it brought back tons of memories for me as I visited New Guinea on the Golden Princess last year.I fell in love with New Guinea and long to return on another cruise one day.I was interested in your choice of ship as I have yet to sail with P&O and the size of the Aria suits me down to a tee.I noticed on your videao that John Hocknull the Scottish guy was lecturing on your cruise on his days and his wifes days as a patrol officer in PNG,I found his talks very engaging. So finally thanks once more for a great travelogue,I hope to bump into you guys one day on the high Seas! My next cruise no 11 is to FNQ later this year cheers from Dave
Yes this was a really great cruise. John Hocknull gave some excellent lectures to enhance our visit to PNG. We loved the Pacific Aria. While smaller than other ships everything was done well. Best wishes for your future cruises. Keep a look out for us!
When you were in these regions did you ever hear of a creature called Orang Pendek? Or Bikpala Pali. Or any other odd stories would love to know.
Nice video but you need to check and adjust your volume levels (wife's commentary was too low and music was too high) before you do your final render and posting. I found I was constantly having to adjust my speaker volume. Other than that it was a pretty good vlog of the cruise, might have to book it for ourselves.
are the markets any good for souvenirs from png? i leave tomorrow on the pacific aria to papua new guinea 🙃
There are markets everywhere with great souvenirs. Best is on the smaller islands.
Warning the bathroom floor in the morning and night is enough to turn your feet blue
