Same. I'd give anything to hear the SpectroMagic soundtrack like again. It was the first show I watched as a child going to Disney for the first time back in 2008, so Spectro has a very special place in my heart that no other parade has been able to take over.
+Kate McConnell I hear that not all SpectroMagic floats were not destroyed but as far as I heard Disney will update MSEP with SpectroMagic floats later on.
So youre mad they got rid of something bad anyway for peoples safety? If its your childhood you’re way too young to be on youtube... MSEP is nearly everyones childhood.
Scot Smith 🎉Foreal! Shut up! That is amazing!! My daughter and I were OBSESSED with this parade and were devastated when they ended it. What role(s) were you cast as?! 🎉
@@lindsaycombs2911 I was originally one of the Bass players on the music float. Roger Rabbit was the maestro then before Genie. I also did finale characters, Sebastian and Jiminy puppets ( they were later automated) and drove floats. I eventually transferred to Studios.
@@ecoRfan The funny thing is that I'm sure that Happily Ever After actually costs more than any of their parades, past or present. Fireworks are damn expensive and LED lights don't need to be replaced after each use. Fantasmic has to be up there with production costs too. SpectroMagic is definitely better than either of the two daytime parades they have right now, especially with the music...and fills me with so much nostalgia as a 90s kid. I can't stand the song that plays on a nonstop loop for the Mousekedance It thing they have.
I worked in frontierland in 06-07 and loved the "race" against Spectromagic - if I got off work at Splash i had a short window of time to clock out and get to the other side , where I could enter the tunnel and go home. If I didn't beat it, i had to watch the entire parade. I was never mad about not making it in time.
I was in entertainment back in 2006-07 and had the privilege of being in SpectroMagic during that time. Still the most magical thing I've ever done. Hard to believe it's been 15 years!
I was so sad when I found out this parade had been cancelled--I saw it on my first trip to Disney World back in 1992. My grandfather taped this parade and it is my most vivid memory of the trip. He has since passed on but SpectroMagic music always reminds me of him, and the main theme and Mickey float bring me to tears. I saw Spectro again in 2002, but it was gone by the time I returned in 2012; I wish I could have seen it one last time. Thanks for capturing this and for posting!
I'm with you on this. I just watched a family video from 1996 when we went to Orlando with my mum dad and grandparents and this music always reminds me of my nana and grandad and they have passed now. I'm glad I share such a feeling moment with someone else xx
this was my favorite Disney parade, I loved it so much more than the Electrical Parade. it's a shame it's not around anymore, I'm glad I was able to see it when it was here :) thank you for uploading this!
I remember my mom sitting hours before this started to save a spot for us while we continued to ride. This was always the highlight of her trip. She had a hard childhood, and this always made her happy. She recently broke her hip and nearly passed away from an infection- so I am so grateful for these memories because I will likely never get to sit next to her for another Disney parade ever again.
Every time I hear those trumpets, I tear up so much!! I not only remember seeing this on my three childhood trips to Disney in the early 2000s, but also seeing it recorded on my dad's "Camcorder" (it's a 90's thing, kids), from when he and my mom went to Disney in the early 90's, a few years after they got married. I fell in love with this parade watching it on our grainy little TV when I was little before I was able to go to Disney. It was event more incredible in person! So, so, so sad that it's gone : __ (
I love this parade. The music just sets it apart from the Electrical parade for me, hearing it always makes me think of my childhood and my dad. It was his favorite moment of any trip.
The floats got ruined during the time that the Main Street electrical parade was supposed to originally run, so we had that for a while, but now in October, we have to say goodbye to that as well because its last time to see it ever will be in Disneyland. PLEASE HELP ME I CANT STOP CRYING BECAUSE MY LAST TIME SEEING THE MSEP WAS IN APRIL AND I GREW UP WITH MSEP
When I went to Disney World for the first time, this parade brought back the magic and the comedy for me. It sometimes scares me because, of the spinning floats but then I got use to them and loved the parade after that. Now after 10 years of this parade it has cancelled because of poor maintenance on the floats. Spectomagic your floats dreams, magic, floats, and theme will be in my heart.
Im in this parade. I can tell you all that watching this back made me shed some tears. These were some of the best, worst, craziest days of my life. Spectromen forever! If you have any questions about its operation or the parade in general ask away; I did 27 different roles in this parade, including float driving and spotting so i know it well
I love this parade so much. I was fortunate enough to be in it, too, back in 2006 and 2007. Magic Kingdom just isn't the same without it. I just got my earphones out and listened to the beginning of the soundtrack while standing in Town Square to relive the magic. Glad we got to be a part of its history ❤️
Stumbled on this...Glad you captured this final performance. I was there with my wife and son (he was 5 at the time). We were leaving the castle after dinner and decided to catch it. 'Didn't know it was the final show until they announced it. I worked for Disney Event Productions when I lived in Orlando back in the late 90's and Spectro was one of my favorites. I was happy my son got to see it. I don't mind saying it brought tears seeing his joy, knowing it was the last performance. Thanks for posting...
Wow. This is the parade that made us come back year after year. Wish they would bring it back. The parade now is not worth stopping for, we go and get on a ride.
I watch this often and am happy you had a such a great recording of what was my favorite WDW parade. I was sad when it went and always held out hope it would come back until I learned of the fate of the floats. Glad it gets to live on in your video. I wish everyone knew it was the end the way they did when the ended Wishes where they sang along after the show was done.
After watching this whole show through, I have to say it's sad that this parade got cancelled due to negligence on Disney's part in the care and maintenance of the float. As much as I love the Electrical Parade and I'm happy it's back in Magic Kingdom, it would have been fun to see the parade live when I could remember it rather than when I was a toddler (stupid middle school me not taking advantage of the fact that she had annuals to stop and watch this parade), still, I hope they do manage to recreate it someday in the future so I can see Spectromagic live again.
+Xion they had no choice but to get rid of it due to the floats being damaged from poor storage conditions, something about a hurricane. I was told parts of the floats were used for the day time parade they have now, and other pieces were used to make for collector limited edition pins.
Jenna Poole Yeah, I already knew about that, I don't know the parts besides Sebastian, but I know he's in Festival of Fantasy, and I have a few of the pins (I think six or so?), it doesn't make it any less sad, however.
I really love to see the awesome big floats from MSEP!!! But still, the awesomeness of it does NOT compare to how sentimentally connected I feel to Spectro!!!! I really love SpectroMagic and i even enjoy listening to the spectacular soundtrack and that brings me memories of the times i've seen the parade at the Magic Kingdom and how it has always felt like living a dream and it's truly amazing!!! This is the parade i grew up with!!!! I miss Spectro!! I hope they bring it back!!!
The Magic Kingdom needs a nighttime parade again! Nothing will ever top Spectro, but the nights are missing the magic of lights and music. Something needs to come in and fill the void.
Goosebumps. This parade was the epitome of my early childhood. So many memories have this parade. I hear the music and immediately I am 6 years old again. So sad that my future kids won't get to see this in person. What I wouldn't give to see this in person again.
I've been listening to spectromagic since I was a kid, and from a musical standpoint, I think this parade has so much more to offer! There was so much more variety in terms of movies used, the instruments are real and it displays so much strength and honor! When I saw the Nighttime electric parade, I heard the same tune repeated in various squeaky high buzzes, and I really miss this one!
I feel like SpectroMagic is supposed to be Magic Kingdom exclusive as it feels like a more fantastical version of the Main Street Electrical Parade and fits Disney World in general better while the MSEP should be Disneyland exclusive to still give the small but compact charm that the park is known for
The first time I went to WDW, (2006), I was only 5 years old. I just remember how special this parade was and I was in absolute awe the entire time. I’ll be 20 next May, and I still think this is if not the most iconic parade WDW has ever had.
I feel so old - I was on the college program at Disney World and 19 in 2006! It was definitely a magical parade. That, and Wishes, were so special. Enjoy this incredible time of your life, you'll be 33 before you know it!
It is a shame that we are never going to see this live again. This was definitely a part of my childhood, so seeing this again makes me cry tears of nostalgia and sadness. RIP, SpectroMagic. You will forever live in our hearts.
2024 and I’m watching this with my baby. Some of the greatest memories from my childhood and I’m sad she’ll never get to see this in person. She loves looking at the lights.
I got to be in this parade when it first was around back in 1997. I was in the marching band in high school and we got to lead this parade because there was about 100 of us band members. The largest school marching band at the time.
actually Spectromagic has only played at Walt Disney World. it's predecessor, The Main Street Electrical parade has played at Disneyland,Walt Disney World, Tokyo Disneyland and Disneyland Paris.
Isatu Mansaray I've gotten to Lead the Main Street Electrical Parade 3 Times in Marching Band, once in Horn Line, and Twice as a Commander/Drum Major. Once at DCA in 2009, and Twice in Magic Kingdom in 2012 and 2015 (2015 was my Last Year. I joined in 6th Grade)
Mikey which parade route was longer DCA's or Magic Kingdom's? (I'm GUESSING Magic Kingdom's since DCA's parade route was shortened from what it used to be)
MotorCityPrepper well they can't upgrade floats that we're basically destroyed by termites. Hopefully now that happily ever after has debuted Disney will work on a new parade to bring to the Magic Kingdom! I'm predicting we'll get one before 2022 for sure because they usually go all out for anniversaries and the 50th is in 2021
❤❤ This brings back memories. Teary eyed watching this. Went to WDW in 97 with my parents and my 10 yr old son. Love love love this parade. Very special
Thanks for the upload! I saw SpectroMagic in '96, and my love affair with Disney nighttime parades began--it has yet to end! lol! It feels really great to see this again. I really, really miss this parade, and I wish they would bring it back!
I think they might be able to rebuild this even better in the future since there's so many people complaining about it being gone. They saved some peices for possible future use, so....spectromagic might return it just might be a while
It's 2021 and what I would give to go back to that time when we first saw this July , 1998. It was a present to our son who turned 2 the day we got home. My family met us there at the castle. Just magic. I made my husband take us every night to see this spectacular event. Please Disney, bring this back. You can't imagine the feeling one gets when the music pipes in throughout Main Street. It's like a dream. But anyway... thank you for a memory that will last a lifetime. But hey it's Disney and that was the intent.
Maaaan, this brings back so many memories. This parade used to mesmerize me as a little girl, in my opinion it captured Disney's elegance perfectly! By today's standards it's really old fashioned but I wish they can bring it back upgraded! Paint the Night is absolutely wonderful in my opinion but it had too many Pixar characters.
All these Spectromagic critics... I love it! Probably my fave! PTN is so hyper and fast paced you can't enjoy the Classic Disney magic. I think this one is tons of fun
As much as I will miss DEP (so many memories) I would love for Disney to recreate Spectro and bring it back to what it was (if they could) PtN is nice but it fits Disneyland's crowd and guests more than it would fit here. Last time I was in Florida I was speaking to a friend of a friend and she said "As much as I like PtN, it makes me feel like I'm in a nightclub... And I've never gone clubbing.." Now that does not mean it's a bad parade, but I love the technology created to make Spectro. It isn't the most advanced, but it looks stunning to this day.
I grew up with Main Street Electrical Parade in the '70s/80s at Disney World and it holds a special place in my heart, but have also loved Spectomagic as well. I have seen both, as well as the new version of the MSEP, on several occasions and they are all amazing parades. I have the music for both and am happy that I can enjoy them both thanks to UA-cam. When I listen to/watch MSEP, it makes me want to get up and dance. When I listen to/watch Spectromagic, it makes me emotional almost teary.
I miss this so much. Spectromagic gave you the pixi goose bumps and brought that inner child out and on that magic night you truly felt the way Walt wanted for us all. The new version does not and the soundtrack is crap lol
New version? You call a parade dating back to 1972 new? that's so adorable. :) Not everybody may like it, but MSEP IS iconic. I do wish I was able to see SpectroMagic when it was here. Alas.
Just to return to those days again when WDW was far better would be my dream come true. I enjoy revisiting this every so often as a reminder of the magic. This is the best nighttime show Disney has ever or will ever produce. Long live Spectro Magic 1991-2010.
I loved this parade(and still do), more than I used to like the Electrical Parade when I was waaaaaaaaaaay younger than I am now!! Guess all I can do is keep the memory of this parade alive by watching as many videos of it here on UA-cam as I can and hopefully one day in the future maybe, just maybe, Disney World will bring this parade back to us!!!🙏🤞🙏🤞🙏🤞
When you look back on this it looks like a complete freakshow. But a wonderful freak show that rams itself into your eyeballs with absolutely no guilt whatsoever. It was a nightmare to keep running at the end, but totally paid its way and deserves its place in Disney history. B***** Engineering did a great job of rejuvenating it in its final years with LEDs.
i got 5 minutes in and i'm already on the verge of tears, I was about 4 (2009) the last time I saw this parade and i'm absoloutley heart broken that it's gone, me being the stupid child I was fell asleep in the stroller as the parade when by so I didn't even see the majority of it, I have the entire parade recorded and it just makes me so sad to look back at this parade, this parade completely blows main street electrical out of the park in my opinion.
I miss this song.. the trumpet part always gets stuck in my head for days. Childhood memories. This has always been and always will be my all time favorite attraction at Disney World. I almost want to cry watching this, I know that's silly.
Was watching another episode of WDWNT and accidentally clicked on this vid...Happy accident! This was THE BEST Disney parade I've ever seen! I wish they'd bring the night parades back! The magic got lost when they removed the night light parades! 😢
Thank you so much for posting this! I was part of the cast that opened this parade after ELP and I had no idea it closed. I noticed a few changes since it's inaugural debut, like replacing Roger Rabbit with Genie and the removal of the masks of what we called "Chuckie" characters at the opening of the parade. Again, thank you for bringing back so may wonderful memories for me.
I saw this in June of 2010 without realizing it would be gone almost immediately afterwards. It's such a magical parade that I cry when I hear the music! I mean, it has that special "Disney" chorus you hear in their shows, music and whatnot. The Main Street Electrical Parade may be sweet, but it should be in Disneyland in CA where it belongs! Let the 'Land" have MSEP, and the "World" have SpectroMagic!
Thanks for posting! I got to march in this parade twice in high school (our marching band lead the parade). I absolutely love the musical score. I love all the Disney night parades though...so many pretty lights! I just got to see the Main Street Electrical Parade again in Disney World last week and I live near Disneyland so I've seen the amazing Paint the Night parade several times. People are always argueing over which is best but I prefer to appreciate each parade. They obviously have grown technologically with each parade but I find just as much magic in MSEP as PTN, especially when I consider the history and importance of each. I do wish they would bring out SpectroMagic every once in awhile though! I think it's great to offer historic as well as new entertainment!
This parade was phenomenal. The music was magical. The electrical parade will never ever come close to this. It makes me sad to know it’s gone....still after all this time
MSEP's true home is in California.........although I would love to see it live sometime instead of always on youtube! I would definitely enjoy watching it!! But Spectro will always shine bright in my memories and my heart!! XD
Unfortunately these floats were stored improperly and destroyed during Hurricane Sandy. Some elements have been salvaged for the Festival of Fantasy parade while others were made into limited edition merchandise.
They should bring it back with an update, like use the theme song which is simply magical, and include more movies, like Cinderella, the 90s and current ones like Frozen and Moana. That would be awesome and magical. We would get a little bit of nostalgia and at the same time innovation with the new films :)
This show is so special to me. I remember making my parents wait a whole hour to watch the parade a second and third time because Ariel was coming. I enjoyed MSEP, but it's time to rebuild a nighttime parade for Disney World.
Just want to say it’s now 2020 and we are all still missing Spectro so, so, so much. I would give so much just to see it again.
My husband, then boyfriend, was best friends with the trumpeters, we now get to show this to our kids, “daddy had really cool and bright friends” lol
Me too, man. Me too 😢
Same. I'd give anything to hear the SpectroMagic soundtrack like again. It was the first show I watched as a child going to Disney for the first time back in 2008, so Spectro has a very special place in my heart that no other parade has been able to take over.
I'd give anything just to have A night parade again.
It's a shame cause the floats were destroyed and were left to rot
2024 and STILL missing this! What a wonderful decision if they brought it back!!
Unfortunately the floats were destroyed
yeah
they were damaged beyond repair
When those barn doors open at 1:22…I tear up, man. This was years and years of my childhood. I'm so mad they don't have Spectro anymore.

they reused pieces of it for other parade floats and also I was told the also used some piece of it for limited edition trading pins
MotorCityPrepper well they can't upgrade floats that we're basically destroyed by termites. Hopefully now that happily ever after has debuted Disney will work on a new parade to bring to the Magic Kingdom! I'm predicting we'll get one before 2022 for sure because they usually go all out for anniversaries and the 50th is in 2021
I'm sorry to say that paint the night blew spectromagic out of the water.
National Sarcasm Society it did and it has the best vocals except the old ones
❤❤ This brings back memories. Teary eyed watching this. Went to WDW in 97 with my parents and my 10 yr old son. Love love love this parade. Very special
This was the best era of disney. All the good things are going away
They saved some peices for possible future use, so....spectromagic might return it just might be a while
It better return! I cry when I see this!
+Bill Perkins SpectroMagic is officially retired but not all floats were destroyed I heard that they will gonna put the Spectro floats to MSEP.
Nick Morelli its not going to die and it's not awful. And it's not confirmed that PTN will be in the Magic Kingdom
Nick Morelli well without the MSEP this wouldn't exist.
@@jacobvanover8792 for real
my favorite Disney parade ever!!!!
AangelKataang is
All these Spectromagic critics... I love it! Probably my fave! PTN is so hyper and fast paced you can't enjoy the Classic Disney magic. I think this one is tons of fun
I’ll never forgive Disney for what they did to this parade. How hard could it have been to properly store 30 floats for a few months?
I want it back for the 50th. Spectromagic reboot PLEASE.
Something about the theme song gives me chills. Such a unique but memorable parade. Spectromagic forever💕
Omg still remember it like it was yesterday truly magical
You can hear someone in the background saying "90 days".
If only it was that short... :(
I grew up with Main Street Electrical Parade in the '70s/80s at Disney World and it holds a special place in my heart, but have also loved Spectomagic as well.
The music in this parade is just awesomely regal but the electrical parades music gets stuck in your head for the entire trip.... Or at least for me
I miss this so much. Spectromagic gave you the pixi goose bumps and brought that inner child out and on that magic night you truly felt the way Walt wanted for us all. The new version does not and the soundtrack is crap lol
New version? You call a parade dating back to 1972 new?
that's so adorable. :)
Not everybody may like it, but MSEP IS iconic. I do wish I was able to see SpectroMagic when it was here. Alas.
***** its all about the soundtrack really. Still love the floats from both. :-)
The Main Street Electrical Parade soundtrack rocks and I love the parade...but SpectroMagic was my childhood and I miss it.
I REMEMBER SEEING THIS PARADE WHEN I WAS 8!!!! I LOVED THIS PARADE!!!!
Just to return to those days again when WDW was far better would be my dream come true. I enjoy revisiting this every so often as a reminder of the magic. This is the best nighttime show Disney has ever or will ever produce. Long live Spectro Magic 1991-2010.
The first time I saw this I made sure to see this every time I went back.
You can buy the spectromagic soundtrack on Itunes. I used to work this Parade every night for a year while working at disney it never got old.
Wishes and Spectro magic. Two things Disney world needs back!
Our favorite parade ever...
i got 5 minutes in and i'm already on the verge of tears, I was about 4 (2009) the last time I saw this parade and i'm absoloutley heart broken that it's gone, me being the stupid child I was fell asleep in the stroller as the parade when by so I didn't even see the majority of it, I have the entire parade recorded and it just makes me so sad to look back at this parade, this parade completely blows main street electrical out of the park in my opinion.
I cant watch this with becoming emotional because its not coming back my all time favorite parade!
This is one of the best parades
If there play parade didn’t happen this would be my 1 favorite
I miss Disney World’s old days.
I performed in this parade around the year 2000....THE best experience of my life!
I wrote some of the control software and designed some of the PCBs and quite frankly it's one of the highlights of my life.
My favorite parade♥️
I miss this song.. the trumpet part always gets stuck in my head for days. Childhood memories. This has always been and always will be my all time favorite attraction at Disney World. I almost want to cry watching this, I know that's silly.
14 years later and i still miss this parade
Was watching another episode of WDWNT and accidentally clicked on this vid...Happy accident! This was THE BEST Disney parade I've ever seen! I wish they'd bring the night parades back! The magic got lost when they removed the night light parades! 😢
Thank you so much for posting this! I was part of the cast that opened this parade after ELP and I had no idea it closed. I noticed a few changes since it's inaugural debut, like replacing Roger Rabbit with Genie and the removal of the masks of what we called "Chuckie" characters at the opening of the parade.
Again, thank you for bringing back so may wonderful memories for me.
wow, I never got to see this one, thanks for the video, hope it comes back someday
remember watching this as a young kid, it was probably the best Disney parade ever!
I am so glad I got to see this parade many times before it was gone. I like the recent electrical parade, but Spectromagic was by far the best one!
This was the greatest Disney parade of all time.
My family and I try to see this parade every time we go to disney. This place holds so many childhood memories for me. Disney love you forever.
I think about the soundtrack all the time, it's so beautiful.
The pre-recording before the parade starts is permanently implanted in my brain. There was nothing better.
I loved it, too. It really built up the anticipation and excitement. Nights at the Magic Kingdom just aren't the same without it.
This parade was phenomenal. The music was magical. The electrical parade will never ever come close to this. It makes me sad to know it’s gone....still after all this time
Such sentimental feelings of watching this parade in 1992 for the first time. The music is so magical 💖💖
It’s now almost 2024..and I still
Miss this parade
As much as I love the new higher tech parades and shows Disney are doing across the park.... SPECTRO MAGIC will be the one I misis the most!
Amazing me and my hubby went there for our honeymoon and we got to see it and even brought the cd which we still to play and now to our children
This parade felt like a fever dream growing up because no one else remembered it. One of my favs
Perfect depiction of Disney’s Magic
My Very First Time meeting Mickey Mouse i was 9 and i Cried Tears of Joy.. I Still do an im in my 30s Now. Just brings back Memories.
MSEP's true home is in California.........although I would love to see it live sometime instead of always on youtube! I would definitely enjoy watching it!! But Spectro will always shine bright in my memories and my heart!! XD
My beloved parade. Saw on my first visit and cried. Miss it . Should bring it back 2022. Now that bob iger us back
Unfortunately these floats were stored improperly and destroyed during Hurricane Sandy.
We would get a little bit of nostalgia and at the same time innovation with the new films :)
yeah definitely bringing it back and adding new floats would be cool.
They need to rebuild this parade (better than ever) to replace The Main Street Electrical Parade!
1. The parade is gone and will never return
2. MSEP is home in California now
Hi There I know it's gone but they need to build something to replace the electrical parade and this that blows anything else out of the water
Right in front! Perfect angle for the beloved Spectromagic...I wish that the new one would go back to DCA soon!
I miss this so much
I'll never forget this
This show is so special to me. I remember making my parents wait a whole hour to watch the parade a second and third time because Ariel was coming. I enjoyed MSEP, but it's time to rebuild a nighttime parade for Disney World.
I miss this parade so much! I've always felt like it was way better than the Main Street Electrical Parade.
sadlystuckinreality same
