- Demonstration of the sounds and sight of the emergency alerting systems at the Entergy Tower. 639 Loyola Avenue, New Orleans Louisiana, a 28-story, 360 feet (110 m)-tall skyscraper.
0:40 "May I have your attention please. An emergency has been reported in the building. While this report is being verified, please leave the building using the exit stairways. Do not use the elevators, use the stairways only. Do not use the elevators."
*Guy proceeds to use the elevator*
It was a test
what kind or voice evac)
@@jonathanstarling1082 sounded like a grandpa voice.
@@keithgreene8489 It doesn't matter. Using the elevators while the fire alarms are sounding is a bad idea. In fact, the voice clearly said to not use the elevators and use the fire exit stairway.
@@jonathanstarling1082 Honeywell. Either a W940B, Sentara or FS90 but I'm rooting twords it being a W940 or Sentara considering the building finished completion in 83.
This kind of sounds like a toned-down version of the "THX" logo music.

May I Have Your Attention Please An Emergency Has Been Reported In The Building. I’ll This perform He’s Being Verified Please Leave The Building Using The Exit Stairway. Do Not Use The Elevators Use The Stairway Only Do Not Use The Elevators.
Interesting sound. The voice sounds a little too excited. lol
kfc28371ify I was thinking the same thing!
ikr?
the voice sounds pretty hilarious tbh
@@alexandersalarms5380 what system is this?
@@hilo2-est3-elev I think it's a honeywell deltanet FS-90.
This is the exact system as in the Steelcase Pyramid!
That voice sound like a grandpa voice
This is a pretty funny slow whoop in the voice evac. It almost reminds me of the sound when the WB shield zooms in on the rings on the Looney Tunes and Merrie Melodies cartoons.
nice whoop sound. Sounds more like someone playing the ukelele weird.
😂😂😂😂😂
Or a demented steel guitar!!!!!!!😂😀😂😀
It sounded like I heard gentex commander 3s in the background
Joezer Mikalixen Youre right… I'm guessing this is all Gentex equipment then…
Was that the elevator that talked as you stepped in it or did someone next to you say something. You can hear something being said when he pushes the button.
Do they expect people on the 28th floor of the skyscraper to walk all the way down, and leave the building? It would take too long, and the stairways would be congested.
Would you rather not even try and burn alive instead?
thats not how high rise evacuation works. Not sure exactly how, but i think its like the floor below the fire, and the 2 above it gets evacuated to the floor below/above. All other occupants can remain in place.
The slow whoop sound that the voice evac makes almost reminds of what it sounds like when my cousin tries to play her violin if that was the fire alarm noise here you wouldn't have to ask me to get out I'm be out ASAP lol. As for the elevator yeah I'm surprised it wasn't recalled you would think in a building like that the elevators would be programmed to go to the first floor and stay there until they got both it and the fire alarms reset.
The fire alarm sounds like when spongebob fails sound😭
also some sort of old autocall system
Wow the whoop sounds nice it sounds like a happy tune and I heard inspectors alert advances as well
They sound more like Gentex than Spectralerts.
Where did you get inspectors alert Advances from idiot, THEY'RE CALLED SPECTRALERT ADVANCES, AND YOU DIDN'T HEAR THOSE, YOU HEARD GENTEX COMMANDER 3'S, UGH.
They are Gentex alarms not Spectralerts
The voice actor in this video sounds very similar to "Vernon" from "Airplane!", as well as the male voice actor in "Fire alarm in Steelcase Pyramid" (who is also supposedly "Vernon"). Can anyone confirm if this is indeed the very same voice actor?
I might not be able to confirm it but I feel like its a good possibility. The only panels that generated this voice I'm guessing would've been from either a Honeywell W940, FS90 or an FCI FireVac III. It's possibly Honeywell due to the fact the tone generator was manufactured by them and steelcase had a old Honeywell system at one point. There was another panel Honeywell manufactured it seems however the model of it is unknown and I've only seen a very small handful of advertisements showing it. the strobes used in this video kinda root me twords FCI though because that single gang faraday type strobe was rebranded by FCI at some point. That commander 3 type horn strobe in the background I don't know but there's a old wheelock frosted strobe unit and those were to my knowledge anyway branded by Honeywell. However If this really is Vernon could he have done voice acting for one of the two companies at one point, same with his wife?
@@mekaHX Maybe. We may never know for sure though.
@@mekaHX The older FCI 7200 modular systems had it too.
@@SimplexEAS2019 Wait? like the those old FireVAC III panels???
"May I have your attention, please! An emergency has been reported in the building. While this report is being vierified please leave the building using the exit stairway DO NOT USE THE ELEVATORS! USE THE STAIRWAYS ONLY! DO NOT USE THE ELEVATORS!" at least it said please but man that guy is tad pushy lol
my message
[Slow whoop 4x]
FIRE! LEAVE THE BUILDING IMMEIDATELY! FIRE! LEAVE THE BUILDING IMMEDIATELY! FIRE! LEAVE THE BUILDING IMMEDIATELY! FIRE! LEAVE THE BUILDING AT ONCE!
That Sounds Just Like A Grandpa Voice. 0:40 May I Have Your Attention Please. An Emergency Has Been Reported In The Building. While This Report Is Being Verified Please Leave The Building Using The Exit Stairway Do Not Use The Elevators. Use The Stairways Only Do Not Use The Elevators.
What the heck setting is that? That's a new one on me. The one in the background sounds like a simmons? and in code 3?
After listening to this again, the alarms in the background sound like Gentex Commanders My apartment complex changed to those without the strobes, however they should have considering the magnitude of the building
How did they get away with upgrading the fire alarm system and not adding strobes? that is an ADA code requirement.
I actively find the strobes kinda dangerous the constant flashing could cause some people to have sesures people that are epelictic
@@matthewgregory8218 they're still needed otherwise they need to use the "FIRE! LEAVE THE BUILDING NOW!" message
Could be newer shgs
goofy allarm sounds like a cartoon ending
That a cool Computer voice,
What kind of alarm is that? I'm going to assume it's from Gentex since I hear what sound like either Commanders or SHG's in the background.
mine goes FIRE! LEAVE THE BUILDING IMMEDIATELY! FIRE! LEAVE THE BUILDING IMMEDIATELY! FIRE! LEAVE THE BUILDING IMMEDIATELY! FIRE! LEAVE THE BUILDING AT ONCE!
you can hear gentex commander 3s in the background
What kind of voice evac is that?
Siemens
Most likely a Honeywell Deltanet FS90 or some FCI system
That siren sounds so ugly
@Worcester2007 its wheelock or edwards something.
Yep, always a good idea to get on the elevator...
yep totally me during the alarm
New Orleans? That's where Jean Lafitte and the Pirates fight.
Pardon me… Just tuning my ukulele
I heard a gentex commander in the background
Yes that is to keep the fire contained if there was an actual fire the doors would keep it at bay long enough to allow extra time for the occupants to escape
funniest ass fire alarm ever
Otis Gen 1 elevators
Are those fire doors supose to close when the alarm goes off?
01:22 Voice Evac Message: "Do not use the elevators"
Uses the elevators anyway LOL!
The announcer sounds like he's trying to sell me a new car.
goofy ahh alarm
That guy sounds like a grandpa sound
You could have started on the 28th floor
That voice sound funny
ikr frirnd my alarm would just go FIRE LEAVE THE BUILDING NOW
What kind of alarm is this?? sounds weird.
Woop sounds like part of a drop on a dance track LOL
I hear a Gentex
@TssCman123 Yeah I admit the tone was a bad choice but at least the message can be taken seriously
can he make it any more clear not to use elevators
@rationalpsychedelia Why did you want to go up to the rooftop? were you planning to parachute off of the building to evacuate? :D
The evac voice sounds like a 50s Era sports announcer
Why does it sound happy?
Beeeyaaawwwwwwwaaw!
I saw u going into the lift on the video.
Who is that guy?
Why were the emergency lights on
Why did you go in the lift anyway?

What Alarm voice evac message is that
I think some very old Notifier voice evac message from the SAS-200.
Honeywell 'DeltaNet" FS90
i heard a gentex commander 3 or 2
or 4
was there a fire??
was there really a fire?
nope. instead
[alarm goes off during your sleep]
FIRE! LEAVE THE BUILDING IMMEIDATELY!
Dang those are rare.
What panel is that??
Gamewell or FCI
@@captainchris2016Most likely Honeywell since Steelcase Pyramid had one with the same voice actor, except a woman was also included in the message. The system got replaced though.
thats the most annoying fire alarm i have ever heard.
