Leclerc Dominates Monaco Qualifying! 🏎️💨 25.05.2024
Charles Leclerc absolutely nailed it in Monaco, grabbing pole position for the Grand Prix. He left McLaren's Oscar Piastri and his own teammate Carlos Sainz trailing behind in a thrilling qualifying session. Leclerc really turned on the heat in Q3, clocking a lightning-fast time of 1m 10.270s, leaving everyone else in his dust.
Piastri put in a solid effort for second place, with Sainz and McLaren's Lando Norris not far behind. Max Verstappen, despite a close call with the wall, had to settle for sixth, breaking his streak of pole positions.
In between Verstappen, we'll see Mercedes drivers George Russell and Lewis Hamilton, while Yuki Tsunoda, Alex Albon, and Pierre Gasly also impressed to make it to Q3.
Esteban Ocon just missed out on Q2, ending up in 11th place for Alpine, and Daniel Ricciardo couldn't do better than 13th. Fernando Alonso and Sergio Perez faced disappointment, starting in 16th and 18th respectively. Logan Sargeant had a solid showing for Williams, squeezed in between the Aston Martin and Red Bull drivers. At the back of the grid, Valtteri Bottas and Zhou Guanyu rounded things out.
