I’ve become a big fan of finger coiling! I find it definitely helps to have very wet hair and product on your fingers for slip. Which is different from my normal damp styling
Ever since subscribing to your channel, I have learned a lot about how to work with my curly hair from how much product to use, types of shampoos and how to wash it/better wash day routine, scrunching, drying, etc. My curl pattern has gotten better since then too. Plus I really appreciate how you test out different techniques and give your opinion on what you should have done or if it would work. I still have some bad curl days but not as many. Thanks for trying all these things out and being honest about whether or not it was worth it. ❤
I finger curled for the first 6 months of my curly journey. I did it in the shower and kind of used the coiling as a way to wring out some of the water. I also coiled much larger sections, so it didn't take so much time. After coiling, I scrunched gel or mousse into them in their little ropes. As soon as you take your hands off of them, they will pull apart; but that's exactly what you want. Don't bother them and it should look like you curled your hair. You and I have very similar hair texture and curl pattern, I think if you tried it again it would work for you. If not, your hair is so pretty it doesn't matter 😍
Really pretty results! I'm so jealous you can get similar results from your regular styling routine. I agree - it takes forever especially at the beginning, when you're learning the technique so that's why I've avoided doing it too often but for better or for worse, my hair definitely looks better when I finger coil. So once again, very jealous you don't even have to consider doing this haha
I generally let my hair air dry while I'm at work since I sit in front of a computer all day or on the weekends I will diffuse. The underside of my hair DOES NOT CURL AT ALL, so for that I will finger roll sections into bobby pins while I wash my face etc in the morning.
I tried different techniques as well and none of those "curly" techniques worked on my 2B waves. I even didn't really have any great success with denman brush. The only technique that always works for me is scrunching on soaking wet hair and even using the bowl method. I don't remember if you've done the bowl method on your hair but if not would love to see your results!
Hi Tabitha, Which hair technique are you finding the most effective for your waves? Using your Denman brush? I'm looking for something not too time consuming that looks good when air drying. Thank you! 💙
So far my favorite or the one I tend to use the most is the denman brush, if I feel like I want better definition or a different look.. it just doesn’t take as long and still gets nice results. For me personally though, I usually just do the routine I’ve shown in my videos where I focus on scrunching ☺️
@@tabithagingerich Thanks Tabitha, that's good to know. I can't be bothered to spend a lot of time doing my hair either...for better or worse it does what it does 😂
I think if you worked on this it would look significantly better. I do this in the shower while it's still very wet with a bit of leave in conditioner. I use much larger sections and no brushing (I brush my hair with my fingers in the shower), I also twist till it goes all the way up my finger. It's pretty quick, and typically looks great. I also will sometimes do this with parts that aren't curling the way I'd like them to after using the Denman or squishing.
The stretching and the frizz are way more than you usually get without this lengthy process. Stick to your regular way and enjoy the ease of it. Just a thought that some of the stretching out might be because your hair is definitely getting longer - could be adding weight? Love your hair…

So beautiful! I normally finger roll because I saw in a manes by Mel video that rolling up is better for looser curl types
Glad that it works for you, and I think it probably does too!! Doesn’t pull on the hair as much 🙃
I really like pairing finger coiling with the Denman brush! I take bigger sections and they end up looking like I used a curling iron

Hi Katie! This comment means so much 😭 really appreciate your kind words and I’m so glad if my videos have helped in any way 💗
You coiled such tiny little clumps. I was wondering about coiling larger clumps, for times sake. Have you tried that?

I didn’t like finger coiling much either! It elongated my waves more than I like

I agree scrunching is my fave 😍 and I haven’t tried it but I should!
Istarted finger rolling a few days ago and for me it has shown such great results ✨I’ll definitely have to try finger rolling
So have you tried it or not?
Finger rolling works really well for me
@@iikittydr8503 not purposefully 😀
Glad you enjoy it! And good luck ☺️❤️
Beautiful results but I think your regular way is much better and easier. Scrunching is my fav.🥰🥰
Such a natural beauty
Thank you 🥰

Great thoughts! 💗 and thank you!
I wanted to love the cake mousse so bad, but I couldn’t handle the smell.😕
I am waaaaaay too lazy to do this 😆. Nope...I like your usual way much better! Still cute results on you though, of course ❤!
Haha me too! And thank you 😁
Wat hair color shade is this?
That's a lot of product for a natural look.
This works best for me when it is soaking wet in the shower with kinky curly knot today and a hold product.
I can see that! Love kinky curly knot today 🥰
Pretty, but I'm too impatient for this! 😆
Same haha 🙃😅
me too!
