She sounded fucking amazing during It's not right... that voice was still there I don't care what nobody says.
I thought it was just as good as the original or hell maybe even better than the original song. Something whitney is known for doing. Sounding better than the actual recording. Even in 2009-2010 shed sang I look to you and I didn't know my own strength better than the studio recordings.

She would have continued to sound like this if they didn't push her to tour. They knew her health couldn't sustain that kind of work. I still believe she'd be alive today if she didn't do that tour.
I agree and if she had a new album out I doubt she would tour after what happened to her in 2010. I think it really got to her when people were expecting a 1992 Whitney houston in 2010. It just puzzles me that those so called fans who booed her in 2010 didn't realize she has not had the BG voice since 1995. After that her voice sounded very different.

Krayola D she went on tour and got like extremely sick and couldn't really sing to be honest she wasn't supposed out of the house! She toured and the media really took her down through there and it was really a horrible experience for her
No Clive did not want her to do that tour and Clive tried to get Whitney the proper help she needed to get off drugs but she chose to go on the tour anyway just like she chose to turn down Clive help
Her voice was basically restored to what it was in the mid 90's to mid 00's. Her vocal coach was right. I guess she really was sick during those concerts in 2009-2010.

Whitney never lost the ability to sing. Did her range change yes. Was her upper register there at times no. However woman was in her late 40's and sang live ALL OVER THE WORLD LIVE. Natural National Treasure 110% class I love her and truly miss my Idol.

She's loved and missed by many. One of a kind lady with one of a kind of VOICE.
She is to be admired. #1 in my book.
So has Patti Labelle, Chaka Khan (even though she also had a drug problem)...and they are in their 70s...and their voices have barely changed. It is about taking care of yourself and your instrument. She needed help...mentally and vocally. She should have never toured....just put the album out and then became a judge on a singing competition show.

This is the only time after she came back she really looked, acted and sounded like herself! It's weird she sounded different on her album and all the live performances...
I wouldn't say it's the only time. She looked and sounded great on several other appearances, Especially her Million Dollar Bill performance on X factor Italy. I Look To You was a great album. It's actually my favorite & it should have gotten grammy nods. She had some good moments on the tour too. Just not consistent. To bad she did not give up the cigs sooner etc.
I think she really pulled out the stops at this point. This performance was her big comeback performance to the world, and she obviously was trying so hard to live a clean lifestyle and it shows in her voice and performance here. I love the ILTY album but I felt she was rushed to go on tour, I believe they should have brought ILTY out around 2011 because she still needed time to adapt a clean lifestyle and mostly preserve her voice. She is the greatest female pop vocalist that has ever lived and nobody will top her when she was in her prime.

She sounded amazing that night, back in 2009... Her voice wasn't like in the early 90's, but her voice sounded so powerful, clean and resonant during this session, and the tone was almost like 1999 / 2000 !!! Whitney could have gotten it back easily! - Great performance. It gave us so much hope!

She is back!!! This isn't quite Bodyguard Whitney but definitely stronger then the early and mid 2000's. Plus, that instrument is resilient and it will continue to get stronger!! She took a number of vocal liberties in It's Alright/Okay and I truly believe that confidence in the voice is just an important!

That's because most of the album was recorded when she still working on repairing her voice after it was badly damaged in 2005. Here she sounds like the whitney from 97-2000. This was her real voice when it wasn't tired during her concerts in 2010.

most probably the best live version of INRBIO i've ever heard.
I enjoyed when she song her signature 1996 Preacher's Wife hit I Believe In You And Me. This song is so inspirational, inspiring, and incomparable. It brings tears to your eye's. She never lost her voice, she just lost her signature range, but the vocal pipe's were still there. She never lost her ability to deliver a song like no one else. Her voice was a God given treasure.

Her speaking voice was VERY clear so is her singing voice. She must've stopped the cigarettes around this time (and got back on it when she was away on tour).

Exactly. They worked her too hard. If they had just set Whitney up with a residency at a theatre or intimate concert venue, and let her do simple arrangements of her favorite songs, she would have gotten her voice back to full strength. I think her death was due, in part, to the fact that she was exhausted.
DeshaunX I agree. The media played a big part in her downfall too. I believe she could gotten most of her voice back. But God has a time and season for everyone and everything brother. She has one hell of a legacy though.

Now, this is the Whitney Houston, that I remember. This is the Whitney Houston, that completely dominated the music scene, back in the day. I'm glad she has gotten back on track. Finally, we'll have a singer out that will actually dish out good music.
Whitney sounds amazing. This is some months ago, and I still think she has improved. She has been without drugs since 2007 now, and she hasn't sounded better than this in years! We're all up for a big surprise..

Wow! If her voice stayed like this during the Nothing but love tour, I would have been fine with it! It's amazing that she was able to get her voice in such good shape, but then sadly, her health declined and the quality of her voice had declined. I have no doubt that now that she's in heaven, her voice is restored. Thanks for posting!
2005-2006 her voice was at its worse. It was even worse than 2010. Gary Catona who was Whitney's vocal coach said after reviewing her concerts he was sure he could get her voice back and he told he wanted to work with her a few weeks before her death and she agreed to work with him again. 2005 she had no voice.
My favorite performance this night was I believe in you and me. She poured her heart out into this performance. I wish she had song the whole entire performance because she showed us that she could still captivate us with her voice.

Wow!! Her "It's Not Right But It's Okay" performance is so strong, heartfelt and electric. She was really into it. Her voice was amazingly strong... a rare feat in her later years. Amazing.
She stopped smoking for awhile in this era and her voice healed a lot by this point. If she wouldn't have touched another ciggerette.. imagine what her voice would've sounded like on the NBL tour 2010.
She sounds so much better! The raspiness on her top notes is almost gone completely, and she's got those top notes again. Go Whitney!

How did we go from the voice like this in 2009 to an unrecognizable voice that we had during the nothing but love tour. I can't understand, a voice does not deteriorate so much in the case of just over a year.
adamps16 You can all think I'm crazy as HELL and a few years ago i would have thought so as well; until seeing everything that led up to February 11, 2012. I firmly believe that this was her final industry performance, and her promotional tour of I LOOK TO YOU was her actual final tour in her own original body/ life. My thought is that the nothing but love tour was staged not just by a body double but an actual clone (that couldn't live up to the "voice" because it wasn't a God Given Gift) that would portray Whitney in an unreal, unhealthy drug addicted manner while rearing up and preparing the real Whitney to fake her death. Atl because her career was so big (Just like Elvis) and was past her prime and was beginning to cost the music industry more money and wasted time keeping her around when there are younger talents out there to bring in the money. So when she died, it wasn't as a shock because of how the world witnessed her in the 2 1/2 years leading up to her death.

The reasons why her voice was so very strained on her last tour was because of a respiratory infection and was being treated with steroids that had not only took a toll on her voice but on her appearance as well. Check out her performance on the X-factor singing "Million Dollar Bill" Excellent voice, and performance.

Up until watching this, I only heard the "I'm Every Woman" rendition, which wasn't very impressive to me. But seeing this part, I'm convinced now, Whitney is getting better... and 'm so happy!

I have to disagree with one thing. Patti still has it. I heard her live this year, and it was amazing. There is no strain in her voice in any octave and she had complete control without holding back. Patti should patent whatever she has done with her voice and sell it these other singers.

It's sad that the media had only focused on her bad days during her last European tour, and most of the concerts, she wasn't that bad despite what they said!
