- Hey guys! This was my first ever plant video I filmed and never put up, but since it's time to repot these this Spring, I wanted to show the progress of how they are doing now. I hope you guys enjoy!
I turn mine about every 4-6 days about 180 degrees to keep it straight. They lean so quickly.
I'm so sorry about your loss. I love that you inherited her plant.
Girl. I love plants.
I know this was 3 years ago but thank you for this video. I adopted this same plant from a clipping my mother gave me that’s she’s had before I was even alive (I’m 30 😂) and had the same problems.. so this video helped a lot.
Your Mom passed away💔😔. I'm so sorry. You took such good care of her. You and your family are in our prayers. Huge fan of all your work from Atlanta, GA.
Beautiful I love these plants
Beautiful dieffenbachia!
I’m going to have to give your soil recipe a try. These are among my favorite plants. Tfs 💕🙏🏾
This was therapeutic for me. Your plants are just thriving! Good to watcch. I will try your soul mixture. Most of my plants start off great then brown tips, yellow leaves and to the trash. I never changed out the soil. I have one hanging on and I do use bottled water for her. Looking forward to the next video!
Same thing used to happen to me and then I was realizing I was overwatering. Lack of oxygen and overwatering can lead to an overgrowth of types of fungus or bacteria that cause root rot. Everything needs to be in balance :ie there needs to be enough oxygen exposed to the roots. It can take just one time of not letting it dry out enough between waterings which will cause an overgrowth of the bacteria or fungus that thrives in a oxygen deprived water environment. Also a Stressed plant (like ones that do better in places where it's humid and you don't have it in enough humidity), is more likely to get root rot. Also Distilled water is better than bottled water
Ahhh, the Dieffenbachia... the only plant I never killed. 🥰🌱🌿
Phianett Lol! It is pretty resilient! ❤️
One of my favs! I just got a green magic the other day and I am in love Beautiful plants!
You're a great plant mom!
Great video. God bless 😊
Your plants are beautiful!! I have two plant arrangements and one large Easter lily from my dad’s funeral in November 2019. I’m going to separate the arrangements and repot. There are a variety of plants with no tags, so I’m going to research to find out how to properly care for them. I love having live plants in the house. Thank you for the inspiration ☺️
Tee_creates Oh wow! That’s exactly how my obsession began! I got a plant arrangement as a gift after my mom passed and I took it to Lowe’s to find out what they are. Luckily, someone there was able to identify each one and I went to town on google and UA-cam finding out how to take care of them. That was last year in August (when my mom passed) and I’ve been hooked ever since.
I love plants. I can't take care of them but I love them
They look amazing
Rhonda Jefferson Thanks boo!
I buy regular potting soil and add perlite, vermiculite, and worm castings.
peachykishy What’s vermiculite?
CharyJay Hey! I’m just seeing this. It’s a natural material that makes soil more well draining and helps aerate the soil. I get a big bag that lasts for a while from Lowe’s for $4 and change.
It needs to be in a bigger pot.
I've got a 6' plant * staked.I will leave to see if it will pop a few spadix (blooms)?.Wondering about repotting to a tall cylinder to :#1_ allow for covering 2' of bare stem .Right now, I have two others in the planter for their leaves to camaflage...comb over sort of.#2_ to continue original.
Yes, I know well about other propagation.Over the years I've done all in water, soil and different ways.
Has anybody done 'notching' on diffenbachia to get new leaves on lower bare stem? Not roots... notching xylem as ficus ,etc.?Thanks.
Beautiful plants, thanks for sharing! Where did you get your baskets?
peachykishy I got the big one from Home Goods and the small one at Hobby Lobby. I’ll be doing a planter haul soon! 😊
Mine is leaning very bad I'm gonna put it in a bigger pot but can I cut this plant where it's joints are and replant them?
I love plants and I will try distilled water because my leaves also turn brown
Amanda Phillips You can also try filtered water. I never have a problem when using that. 😉
Try rain water too!
Do you use distilled water with all of your plants?
iluvmakeupthismuch No. I actually use filtered water on most of my plants. But I find that my umbrella plant, monstera, and pothos can tolerate tap water just fine. 😉
I love plants but my home is too dark to grow anything
yocampout I got lucky. I’m in a tiny one bedroom apt, but I have five windows that gives a good amount of light. You could always buy grow lights if you wanted to.
Is that non gmo
