    We've got a revamped lineup, with upgraded components, awesome new features & a stunning sleek new look! Today we're looking at the HT MK3 20w Head with a matching HT 2x12 cab, the HT MK3 5w Combo, and the HT 1w Combo amplifiers!
    The The HT line is famous for combining class-leading boutique cleans with modern high gain overdrives without compromise, all in a single gig and studio friendly unit. Bringing everything Blackstar learned designing the Artisan handwired boutique cleans and the Series One modern high gains into one valve amp; HT Venue give you every clean and overdrive reference tone you need for any performance.
    Separate tone networks for Clean & OD channels, plus Blackstars Patented ISF (Infinite Shape Feature), let you fine tune your tones. CabRig, our world-class DSP speaker simulator comes as standard, which allows you to choose between hundreds of different cabinet, mic, mic placement and room settings. These settings can be saved and stored into three presets which can be recalled directly from the amplifier. Switch into standby mode for ‘silent’ recording or silent stage use. Inside the chassis we’ve made more enhancements to MK III, upgraded components and an all-new customisable reverb make these the best HT's ever. There’s beauty in the details too, we’ve introduced high quality mini toggle switches, premium covering and fret, plus a metal plate logo!

    First time ever I like the sound of a Blackstar. It's like Marshall and Mesa had a baby.

      Doesn't really sound any different from the Mk2 versions. I like Blackstar but the MK2 and MK3 sound the same. I have the HT5 MK2 and there is nothing the MK3 can do that my MK2 can't.

    See the thing I love about these videos is that Dagan can make just about any guitar or amps sound good.

    What a great review of these Blackstar MK lll amps..your playing fits these amps well and I appreciate your videos a lot..now I have to figure out if it will be the Blackstar MKlll 20 watt head or the Engl Fireball mini head..huge price difference for sure !

    Dagan...I have a Schecter DJ Ashba signature that comes stock like your Kramer there that you customized...alder body, bolt-on 22 fret maple neck, non-recessed Floyd 1500, Sustainiac in the neck, EMG 81 in the bridge, 3-way toggle on the lower horn, single volume knob, no tone knob, and killswitch. You should check it out. I've always loved the Blackstar HT series...sound great, great features, and don't break the bank. And come in small packages that are easily portable.

      They're awesome guitars! I'm a big Ashba fan and always fancied one of his signature models! 👌 Yeah, the amps are absolutely stunning too!

    It's a lot more expensive but my Mk 2 HT20 head doesn't sound anything like as good! I think I'll have to come over the Newcastle some time soon.

    The 20 and the 5 sound great but the 1 watt sounds way to boxy and nasal . Probably sounds much better through a cab . I find all 1 watt and 5 watt combos sound like crap untill you run them through a 2 by 12 . They sound better through 1 by 12s as well but they are still a little too boxy . They reall don't open up untill they are ran through a 2 by 12 but even with a 2 by 12 I find myself running the treble higher than nornal. Smaller amps arw always a compromise one way or another .

    These have had a 100%price hike from MKII to MKIII. But nobody talks about that do they? BlackStar are heading towards Epiphone/Gibsons 300% price hike.😂

      @@tommilitello198man now it’s the choice of the 5 watt 1x12 or the 20 watt head or combo lol the choices lol

      Yeah, I was really shocked at that price hike. Feels like they've now moved into territory inhabited by distinctly better amps and thus are not quite such a good purchase as the previous models.

      Just got this amp. Its amazing

  • @ranius7388

    Dont wanna ruin the party but ×10 times attenuation is usually -3db only

    • @squicker
      @squicker 21 день тому +2

      No, a 50% decrease in wattage = -3dBm volume. A x10 decrease in wattage is equal to reducing by 10dBm, all things being equal. It's definitely helpful to have a -10x attenuation option on an amp, especially if you fit inefficient speakers but yes, even 0.5w is loud at home.

    • @ranius7388
      @ranius7388 21 день тому +1

      @squicker
      I found all attenuation of 0.5w and below to be effective . People forget speakers yield 88-102db under 1w RMS only, which is crazy laoud and therefore only 0.5w or below is really home level attenuation.

    • @squicker
      @squicker 21 день тому +1

      @@ranius7388 Yes, it's certainly helpful, but you can still get it to a level that's unsociably loud 🙂My Silver Jubilee attenuates from 20w to 5w and that is in fact pointless as still ear-splittingly loud at home, for the reasons you say, but also really sucks tone. I run it at 20w through a Boss Waza TAE to control it.

    • @ranius7388
      @ranius7388 21 день тому +1

      @squicker i have 15w laney and i run passive volume box (100k) in the loop and it turned out much more effective and tone saver than my weber mini mass which I've sold eventually . Also replaced speaker with helatone avatar 25w speaker wich has very low effiency and its a jewel for low wattage amps

  • @ranius7388
    @ranius7388 23 дні тому

    Sounds worse than mkii series for me , probably need other speakers
