1:55:15 switching to Franklin here and not going into the Mission Trigger as Trevor or Michael will completely skip one of the best cut scenes in the entire game. Just pure Gold. NEVER switch to Franklin when this missions comes up or you will miss that cut scene between Trevor and Michael. Easily the best one IMO
The problem arises when you look AWAY from your vehicle, even in the impound garage, it despawns. But it DOES initially spawn, and GTA SA has the impound system
Officially the 3 protagonists are based 3 kinds of GTA playstyles but different from what you state. Franklin is for fans of CJ, street gang culture and newer fans. Trevor is for fans who like blowing up stuff, fighting the cops and generally being psychopaths. Michael is for the older fans who are experienced GTA players much like how Michael is an experienced crook.
Franklin is poorly characterized so I understand what you mean, he's for newer fans who are less interested in story and more interested in the dopamine rush of playing the game
Personally I thought the point of Franklin is to show that even though he’s in the gang life he doesn’t like it he doesn’t like running around doing things for older gang members with little pay day in day out. He’s ambitious and he wants to be more successful than running around the streets all day, then he nights Michael someone’s who made it successful, big house, early retirement and he becomes his new role model and gets taken under his wing eventually he does make it multi millionaire from robbing banks a big house maybe a suit and a modded car if you chose to buy those things and then what you think he feels about this there’s a different ending for that
In regards to the torture mission, participation in the torture by the players shows the torture in a relatively unfiltered form and makes the player complicit in the act, even if forced to both narratively and mechanically, which improves the horror of the act and it's impact. It's the difference between watching torture being carried out and doing it yourself and emphasises the message of it being unnecessary barbarism under a flag of "the greater good".
@@TheCriminalHistorian Yeah, I think rockstar put it in to show how corrupt agencies can be, I think professional made a video on it, but it was actually based on stuff the CIA did some innocent guy. It does its job in making players feel uncomfortable.

The grate mini game (and similar mini games elsewhere in the game) in the Humane Labs heist are added to create more involvement in the act of heisting. For example, press X to cut the grate via a canned animation would be servicable but dull, while manually cutting the bars yourself puts the player in a more involved position in the action. Some are more just framing devices for the narrative like the yoga mini game which gives you something to do while establishing the friction between Michael, his wife and the instructor. The ability to play the mini game after beating the mission was probably less to do with it being fun and more to give players the option if they wish and make the development resource expenditure more worthwhile by having add an extra optional activity. I tend to like both these styles of mini game as while often throwaway they add variety, are usually inoffensive and allow more interactivity and immersion with the world. But I get why some dislike them too.
The best comparison to make for Trevor is the Boss from Saints Row 2 Basically the same character archetype and even have the same redeeming qualities when it comes to Loyalty to the ones closest to you. I love GTA 5 and GTAO, but I hate the people who play online lmao So I basically took mods that add things from online, or their equivalent to the story mode, and it makes it so much more enjoyable. You can basically do anything and everything with no need for internet or griefers. Side note: I believe there is a legitimate reason for the torture scene on the game. I see it as a commentary on how the government is corrupt and willing to use innocent Americans as the fall guy/patsy for their crimes as a cover up and showing how everyone is expendable and a means to an end. Another thing, now that I’m at the end. My solution to keeping cars now, is just saving them in Menyoo and spawning them when I want them. You can alternatively use Persistence II, but that’s finicky and can delete cars too sometimes.
in all honesty Ashley always kept getting Johnny in trouble because Johnny still cares about her. It's fitting that her actions would eventually get Johnny killed
Some of your opinions seem a lil half baked but good video over all, Don’t get why you think it’s bad the game holds out money on you until towards the end, if you could just buy literally everything in the middle all money afterwards is pointless
True, and Rockstar listened to fans when making Rdr2 and now some people think you make too much money too quickly in that game, if I remember correctly
I’m sure plenty of people already told you this, but I just need to say. The reveal that apparently Debbie killed Floyd and Trevor killed HER is so out of nowhere, it needed to be shown more
I shot that dude in the foot that we stole the Z type from and he still died lmao just wanted to send him a message. How tf you die from a shot to the foot....
With the torture mission, that was the point. The torture was meaningless and only for the torturer, who is the messed up and sadistic Trevor. It's made a thing that you can actually play to immerse you as Trevor, to turn someone's "necessary" pain into a fun and funny gameplay thing, which is how Trevor sees it. I think the message is pretty well conveyed and the ending is an actual example of dark or messed up humor that isn't just having bigotry be the punchline. A messed up person does messed up things to an innocent and escapes with it while the tortured person is forever traumatized over info they would have easily given up. This is arguably the best a GTA game has conveyed a message. But the mission is still pretty gross, but it had a purpose beyond your made up reason of it only being there for sadists. But I don't fault you for getting uncomfortable and feeling gross from the mission.

Man, you and I are probably the only two people who actually like the first person mode in GTA. I have an ultrawide monitor and it's just perfect for it
Hoping for IV next
Guinness: *cargasms over the Classic Sabre*
Me, who's Dad actually owned a 1973 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme 442 which the Sabre is based on: OH WOW! THAT IS RELATABLE!
Well that was 3 hours for a recap... Good video, now u got 2 week for gtao
2 weeks? Says who?
@@CompositeCreativityI'm pretty sure he's just joking lol
Well you said there was more to come when I said I needed more. You didn't disappoint
Nice job on this
I stopped playing vidya when V came out, all my time went to osrs lol which was more of a habit. I just bought V last night on a whim not knowing today was it's anniversary. I do miss how unscripted and open ended the GTA games were like in 3 and VC but it's still an insane open world that I've never experienced before
11 years old and still as awesome as ever
The professional did a video explaining the whole Mr k situation if your interested in learning more
36:40-54:04 Sure, Michael exposes himself for Trevor to know who pulled out the job. But remember all of this happened because of Amanda's affair with the tennis coach who would rather run away than take a ass whoopin.
I can’t believe that this game came out 10 years ago
This video was really fantastic, I pretty much agreed with everything you said. Must have taken a long time to edit!
Glad to see that the views are picking up again
If it ain’t shooting or driving this man don’t want it
in all honesty
Ashley always kept getting Johnny in trouble because Johnny still cares about her.
It's fitting that her actions would eventually get Johnny killed
1:59:46 That guy that u saved from the bikers as franklin he does pay ..he gave me 2 grand if im remembering correctly
he never mentioned the other getaway driver the woman you save from the car accident she's the best driver skilled and cheap
0:00 Ah, a fellow 16:10 aspect ratio enjoyer
Not a Harley fan but damn that was a awesome police Harley die-cast vehicle
Some of your opinions seem a lil half baked but good video over all,
Don’t get why you think it’s bad the game holds out money on you until towards the end, if you could just buy literally everything in the middle all money afterwards is pointless
True, and Rockstar listened to fans when making Rdr2 and now some people think you make too much money too quickly in that game, if I remember correctly
I’m sure plenty of people already told you this, but I just need to say. The reveal that apparently Debbie killed Floyd and Trevor killed HER is so out of nowhere, it needed to be shown more
That’s not even directly confirmed by the game or anyone who worked on the story, just speculated by a lot of people.
I shot that dude in the foot that we stole the Z type from and he still died lmao just wanted to send him a message. How tf you die from a shot to the foot....
I'm really liking these mission by mission videos. Really entertaining. Well done. Do you plan to keep going with them?
I will eventually cover GTA IV and III, maybe LCS and VCS, probably not for 1 or 2 or advance though.
Also maybe CTW
@@TheCriminalHistorian No rush. Don't put any pressure on yourself. How about the Red Dead games?
I loved your Vice City & San Andreas retrospectives can you do a GTA 3 one? Possibly both LCS VCS?
He has done those ones.
@@PlebNC he hasn’t done a mission by mission retrospective for gta 3 and Vice city stories and liberty city stories only Vice City and San Andreas
@@veandreyahuda5333 Oh, I thought you meant the lore videos.
W Vid, subbed😁😁😁
1:40:28 I have when I had nothing else to do
was replaying the story mode for the millionth time and It soft locked not giving me any more missions :(
i tried to keep my cool but the gta iv menu sfx as bleeps actually made me lose my shit props to whoever thought of that 😂
