16:55 I'm surprised you didn't mention that this dialogue which is given to Frith in the play was actually Prince Rainbow's in the book

7:02-You said this has the first dramatic representation of the crow attack. Au contraire, it is in the 1984 radio play as well

You are absolutely right. I will correct this next week.

Accents: You mentioned different accents-these kinds of details were totally unnoticed by me. I didn't even know the Sandleford Owsla and the Outerskirters had different accents! (Sorry)

Cowslip's voice: I don't know why, but we have a completely different impression of her-you think her voice exudes "passive-aggression", and I hear it as the flirtatious tone of a siren. It seems to have what is commonly called sex appeal to me. So weird how we hear two completely different things! (I'm not saying your opinion is incorrect)

The hutch rabbits: I would have thought they would have excluded the males from the play-it makes more sense to me as in the book, and the '84 play, it always seemed as if Hazel kind of steals the females from their mates. Cornflower being a buck is jarring to me because of the female mouse Cornflower in the Brian Jacques Redwall books (have you read those? There are EXCELLENT full cast audio plays of most of them made by Brian Jacques himself (with his son usually playing Martin))

Again, details you mentioned go over my head: you mentioned Guy Richie several times-I have no idea who is he, so all of the references are meaningless to me (I am not invalidating them-I am just sharing my perspective)

I suspect you wouldn't like his films: 'Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels' and ''Snatch'
Check out the opening of the first for context. But be ready to not like it.

Actually the trailer might be better.

Newell, I listened to part 1 of the radio play on my way to a job this weekend. I really didn't like it as much as the 1984 play, or even the 2002 play. There was no need to change the sex of Cowslip. It made it seem as if she used feminine wiles to lure our heroes, which really took away from the story. I also didn't like the narrator, but I guess it's tolerable. I'm not sure why they made Kehaar a female too, but it doesn't really detract from the story. I'm leaving these comments before listening to your podcast-maybe you will address these issues. I also REALLY disliked the voice actors. Bigwig sounds thuggish, and none of the other characters with the possible exception of Fiver and MAYBE Blackberry seem to fit.
