I have another work trip tomorrow (I'll be driving a little under a thousand km) I'll listen to part 2 in the car and get back to commenting (Sorry I didn't do it earlier)
A few thoughts: like I said before, I can't distinguish the different English accents in the play, but General Woundwort, and Bigwig don't work for me. I couldn't think of why that is until listening to your review-it is because they don't sound older. Now, in the '84 play, I thought Bigwig sounded TOO old, but he and Woundwort definitely sounded older than the rest. Woundwort does as well in the '78 movie. With the other Watership rabbits being yearlings, they SHOULD sound older. I also agree that the attack on Marjoram doesn't work in this play. I think for me it is because he sounds weak (he was begging for mercy) In the book and other play(s), he fought hard as Owslafa should. I didn't like the narrator in Part 1, but knowing that it is Hzylenflay (sorry about the spelling) makes it palatable for me
Sadly, for me, each newer radio play is worse than its predecessor. I liked the '84 version the best (for obvious reasons-I grew up with it, and have 40 years of fondness), then the 2002 version, and this one the least. The only thing I think it does better than the others is the chasing of Holly and his expedition by the Ephrafans

Thank you Sean 🙂
