1:22 The Canny Man was originally the nickname for the 'Volunteer Arms'. Two other pseudonymous hostelries are The Forrest Hill Bar (aka Sandy Bell's) and the Athletic Arms (aka Diggers - from its proximity to a cemetery).
How's the weather in August. We are planning a trip in August. Would a normal puffer jacket suffice? Or should we buy a warm jacket that is waterproof. Thanks
Looks like you both had a good time, the places you went are pretty but can be crowded, next time just get lost in the Scottish countryside, its worth it.
we did a lot of this if you watch the video! Going where my family is from was very rural Scottish Highlands with no people haha. We also pulled off on random roads to intentionally get lost and find quieter places. Of course when you travel 24+ hours all the way from New Zealand and never know if you'll be back, we also have to tick off the "touristy" spots too ;)
Really enjoyed this. We're going back to Scotland in May and are really looking forward to it!
Hope you enjoy it!
